  • 27:53 - Sounds about right...

  • So the dinosaurs died from pollen allergies?

  • This is my favorite episode of Cosmos with that entire presentation with the evolutions. I was still star dust when this originally came out but I caught one of the episodes out of the blue one year and started watching. Best "out of the blue" fluke that I could possibly make.

This dude is awesome!! LOL! :)

  • Mind blowing.

  • Thank you.

  • 19:00

The soundtrack for this is awesome.

  • I pity the 3 people who can't get over their own biases and/or prejudices to appreciate this superb work of art. I appreciate many works of Christians, Pagans, Buddhists, Muslims etc. You don't have to agree with a message to acknowledge it's great delivery. What a bunch of babies we all are.

I know taste is subjective but there are just some people that display a flawless talent. Come on, assholes, give him credit.

  • It cracks me up how Carl pronounces 'humans.'

  • welp, i learned a lot today

  • For everyone that hasn't smoked weed, at 16:21 is what it feels like, and if you look closely at Carl he is pretty baked.

  • hard to believe justin beiber gets more hits than carl sagan...just...damn.

  • @thinkslaughter

Cosmos will be one of those things future generations look back on with awe and reverence.

  • Emphasis on "future". Great artists are many times ignored in their time and then become legends in later years.

And yes, it's educational but it's also art. Part of what makes Carl so amazing is that he has talents in both areas. He can explain something to you and then draw you a picture. And he probably does french fries, too.

  • i ♥ cosmos :D tv escola * Brasil

  • Excelente, la mejor serie de astronomía que haya visto en la tv....

  • Nothing wrong with being atheist. It's not like other religions haven't employed propaganda.

  • The music in this mini series is phenomenal.

  • Thanks to the person who uploaded this version of the cosmos to be able to share

  • @wwwTrueFreethinker Just like the Bible and every other Holy Book is a collection of stories, right?

  • @XNickdaninjaX Employing the tu quoque, I see :o) Well, at least you see that Cosmos, like much pop-science, is scientific language masking atheist propaganda.

  • @wwwTrueFreethinker Carl Sagan is employing the logical fallacy of tu quoque? Expand on that, if you are capable.

  • @ThePipergirls Not Sagan. You were employing it.

  • @wwwTrueFreethinker Yeah... I thought so... pathetic trolls.

  • @wwwTrueFreethinker For someone whose name includes 'free thinker', you let millennia old middle-eastern literature dictate much of your thinking.

  • @wwwTrueFreethinker

Shouldn't you be burning someone at the stake right now for the slightest deviation from your particular religious denomination's doctrine?

  • @wwwTrueFreethinker "children such as my wife"

    Back off, pedobear.

  • @kochkochkoch Employing the argumentum ad grammaticus, I see :o) Well, at least you see that Cosmos, like much pop-science, is scientific language masking atheist propaganda.

  • @wwwTrueFreethinker It is ignorant religious fanatics such as you who burned the library at Alexandria.

  • @SummerSeale

    So I told that thar teachin' lady I only need to know 6 letters...U, S and A and G, O and D.

  • @wwwTrueFreethinker Well when actual scientific fact is put forth, it trumps a book full of stories. Evolution has physical evidence, none have been found for anything in the bible.

  • I miss Carl

  • I am so buying this box set on DvD.

  • Back in 1980, when COSMOS came out on PBS, I loved Carl Sagan like an older brother. I'm 60 years old now, and Carl Sagan would be 77 years old if he were still living. When I heard back in 1996 that he had died from cancer, I actually broke down and cried!

  • tell u whats weird. had a dream last night about these balloon typethings that were alive , and i just watched episode 2 and Sagan spoke of these theoretical beings on over planets called floaters.......that look like giant cunting balloons.

  • i was 7 years old when he died, and it was another 8 years before i discovered him. would that i had watched cosmos as a kid, i might be pursuing a masters as an astronomer or some breed of physicist. instead i watched cartoons that told me school was boring and cool kids hated going. the wrong message was handed me as an impressionable kid, and i still haven't outgrown the impact. waking up to the universe as an adult leaves me feeling like i missed all the worthy opportunities.

  • How have 10 million people seen Justin Bieber's bullshit videos and this thing only has 25k? We're growing up stupid, people.

  • @Schpinki think about 800 000 000 ppl seen justin bieber...

  • 2 people are aliens.

  • 33:50. So you are saying that even Marijuana gives back Oxygen? Take that War on Drugs! LOL

  • 19:00 - 22:00

    Vangelis' music is so cool.

  • This man DESERVES no EARNED HIS RIGHTFUL PLACE NEXT GEORGE WASHINGTON AND BENJAMIN FRANKLIN. He deserves his own monument in EVERY state, in EVERY CITY!.

  • @VoLCoMzYaDiGG Washington and Franklin's monuments should pale in comparison to Carl Sagan's... and Aristotle's, and all the other great philosophers that ever lived. Any head of state, war "hero" or politician is an insect; a grain of dust under any philosopher's bare foot.

  • "Without the tools of science, the machinery of life would be invisible". Take that you creationist rejects! Now go on home in your horse! Don't drive a car, science made that car!

  • I think I just lost my mind and discovered the reason of life.

This could have changed my life as a child. I love science, I love it more now.

  • @jacobmorr

my set of "Cosmos" dvds are one of my few prized possessions. I intend on showing them to my children.

  • Amazing, just amazing.

  • We are a way for the cosmos to know itself, and thereby ourselves. We are part of it; and as we exist in it - it is also part of us. Seperate but simultaneously indistinguishable; "the made and the maker".

  • Simple quimica organica, la vida es un sistema emergente entre muchos, pero eso no le resta belleza

  • Great man.. great work.. unfortunately not enough views.

  • @MrAntiGod I'm working on it... =)

  • @MrAntiGod Yeah cause apparently Lady Gaga and Rihanna are more important than this. I fucking hate my generation.
