Everyone talking about the dress blues. How they are earned. I know my jrotc program is actually taking off ALL of the blood stripes on the blue trousers. That's the way it should be.
Why are all these cadets so fat? I mean, I know it's only high school ROTC, but still...at our high school NROTC, we had to run two days a week, it was like having an extra PE class. Not too many fat cadets in our detachment, at least when I was in back in '01
I go to this school and yes its not perfect yes we must and should earn those uniforms, most of those cadets do many things for the community and for their school we work side by side with marines from our area and often have marines inspect us. Many of the cadets in MCJROTC go on to have careers in the Marine Corps and we fill a sense of commitment and responsibility when we wear the uniform. I just got my dress blues this year and I still feel like i should not wear them. but don't be harsh.
the only issue i have with the uniform is they have blood stripes which you have to be a Cpl in the Marine Corps to earn which is unfair to those who have earned them that any high school kid can get one so easily. not to mention the form is of there not marching right... they just fucked up in so mant ways i lost count. and before someone start bitching at me saying i'm wrong i am a Marine and even a cadet should be held up to Marine Corps standard for atleast drills if nothing else.
@TheInsaneCalateral because the unfiorm is earned not given , and its a bad representation of the armed forces because they dont actually learn the right way to do thing , i think they should have jrotc but i think they should have uniforms that look different
For everyone getting mad about the "uniforms and how they have to earn them" stop. JROTC is meant to give high schoolers a look into the military and what it is like, and many boys and girls in it eventually join the military.
@connor72595 yes but the dress uniform should not be worn unless you are actually military .you can get a look at how the military works without wearing what we worked so hard to earn . its earned not given highschool or not
ok for one the uniform is not the same as the marine unfiorms and if you would have read the new uniform issue for jrotc's you would have saw they took many uniforms out and many of their quality like the blood stripe. bitch's god. ignores is truly bliss.
The Marine JROTC should get seperate uniforms then what REAL marines wear. like other have said, they need to EARN that uniform- either san diego or parris island...
you kidding me? hald these kids have guts hanging over those belt buckles. believe me when i tell you, these JNROTC kids get their asses kicked. its sad, my dad saw the same thing. they go in with confidence, and that aint bad, but when there is ignorance and pride, its a sad end. and alphazsz, i agree with you 110%, not only the uniform, but the title is earned.
god i wish my High School had a JROTC unit...that would be soo cool...im actually saddened by this because of how awesome that is...
You guys get to wear those badass Marine Corps dress blues and us sea cadets can't even wear anything without like one million "SEA CADETS" patches on it...
having an jrotc program is to develop one's character in leadership , teamwork, etc. bu tto join in for the unfiorm is not worth it. wear the a jrotc dress blues will not make you feel proud, you have not yet earned the title of a marine.
well at Sea Cadets we actually go through Navy boot camp and then our advanced training is administered by the Army, Navy and Marine Corps so its a different feeling for us...
haha i don't know anything abut JROTC but (with all due respect) we look down upon the program because they get a chest full of ribbons and an insane rank without giving much effort...but I want to get a unit in my school just to have the experience and because I know a youth military program makes good people so in a school of misfits and druggies I wouldn't mind seeing people clean up...
Its easy to find an NSCC unit though...i think theres a tool on our website but if not I can help find one
wish i was in the marine jrotc program...unfortunately im in army jrotc : /

James, you're a horrible camera-man. Because of that, I award the video of this great moment, with only 4*.

The only reason why its shaky is because that most of the time we were standing at attention so my mom had to film it.
