for what it's worth my undefeated record is at the amateur level but it is based on open martial arts tourneys, It's just hard to hear TKD trashed when I have used it to win against kung fu, bushido karate, shotokan, capoiera etc.; I train w/ marine MICMP black belts + police behavior submission trainers as well and my TKD has helped me to dictate where the fight goes, potency belongs to the practicioner more than the art, in my opinion, but i don't know anything yet, just learning
at least we are discussing reasonably now, krav magna yes, bjj, especially hapkido and joint manipulation etc. it is all relevant, I think the key philosophy is jeet kune do-take and use what you need, I teach TKD in a non profit school that trains inner city underpriveleged kids self defense, the stats on abuse and neglect are staggering, anything they can learn to give them a fighting chance is vital and potentially life saving, we include techniques from other such arts in our instruction..
Guarantee Hershel puts on a more entertaining fight than many of what you see in the UFC, seriously, you dont' think he could handle some of the slugs like Beltran or the sloppy kids like Morecraft, I go with Hershel everytime, don't forget, this guy was happy to run straight into an opposing defense time and time again, either way I hope he continues, he is an inspiration, if you don't think so you simply don't know anything about him or you are beyond being inspired.

Herschel Walker is a joke in the sport of MMA. It doesn't matter that he's studied martial arts for however long he has. Dana sounds like a fanboy here. Walker has been a student of martial arts for a long time. Lesnar made a name for himself in wrestling, and Kimbo was an internet star. As far as skill, Hershel had a headstart on both of those guys. I never get into the whole ''who's gonna win?'' game because a fight can go either way at any time, unless one opponent is totally outclassed of course. Dana thinks the UFC is the cream of the crop, but there are people who don't fight in the pros who are amazing.

1 month to go till Strikeforce Henderson vs. Babalu and still no word on who will be fighting Herschel in the co-mainevent. My bet is we'll see him fight another guy just like Greg Nagny because if Herschel stepped up in competition like he's been sayin he will he'd get that ass beat and with just a month to go I find it hard to believe that SF will get a credible opponent for Walker. @dirtyjew1974 Dana didnt give hershel an oppurtinity, his twice the athlete as any heavywieght in the ufc. Besides brock lesnar as far as athletism is involved. Is he a better fighter than the top heavyweights no. If you gave him a year training and allow him to fight agianst solid fighters he would be able to adjust and compete. Would he win, maybe maybe not. I cant doubt a man of his talent. I think he could beat a frank mir with a good trainer trianing him.

@larryallenfan athletic ability yes but not technical ability, not only is he not a top 10 heavyweight but he's also not a top 800 heavyweight and againsed mediocre competition he'll get himself killed much less againsed the elite and since he's not fighting top fighters in smaller organizations then why would the top organization even consider him? he dont look good againsed bad competition even though he wins agained them and thats why dana dont want him lol, as far as mir goes lololo

@larryallenfan furthermore the ufc arent concerned with his athletic ability or the fact that he's a big name x football player, athletics in football dont translate into fighting, only intense training and winning fights againsed respected fighters would make him considered for the ufc, atleast brock has a wrestling pedegree which asists in fighting to a large degree but whats an x football player gonna do...tackle people?
