This guy has got to stop. What he is doing is selfish. He attributes human emotions to the bears. Fact is they are just playing along now. At some time in the future some bear is gona go wild on him and kill him. They are wild bears and it is a lack of respect on his part to treat them otherwise. Also, the bears , like him will be getting old. I am afraid for him but also the bears. They will become old kranky meat eaters & he will be spreading kibbels in the yard.

He is in trouble because when you make a wild animal use to humans,it endangers the animal:Case in point: 2003Russa, a man was doing the exact same thing with the bears.While the guy was away poachers came and killed 20+ bears, they did not run away from the men with guns. 2006,Glacier NP MT, two guys were feeding a bear in camp. They left camp and a few days later a woman camped where they were. Bear came into camp looking for food, finding none became annoyed and attacked and ate the woman.

Alaska should leave the guy alone. I understand the problems associated with interaction between bears and humans but caution and understanding is gained through experience. I have no doubts that the experiences this man has forged with one of nature's greatest predators has been insightful.

While no one should emulate him, he obviously knows what he's doing with the bears.

This is a mistake on so many levels. Charlie can do what he wants. The bears have now been unnaturally affected by his actions. He is trying to make wild bears pets. He even trains them. They are wild, but now they are less wild and unafraid of people in Bear Haven. The bears have been put in a defensive position by someone seeking to feel a connection with them. He sasy he knows what these wild animals are thinking. He is delusional! He will be eaten one day. This was just on "The Outsiders."
