  • Porn will reach max level x3

  • A room full of programmable matter will allow us to have a Holodeck like in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Hurry up and get this stuff working! I want my Holodeck!

  • So this is how Gorge Jetson was able to fold his car into his suitcase and how the terminator from the terminator movie was able to shape-shift into any form or being he wanted to become.

  • if these programmable molecules can change shape at the rate of 40 per second we have a proper physical 3D vision. all the television can end up in the landfill, i think this is the future for bringing digital world into real world.

  • Claytronic sex yeaaaaa budddyy

  • This technology can make a staff morp into a snake like Moses. Morphing your own faces. Impersonation. Idenity theft. You can use it for evil in so many way.

  • @Duongdaipham You can use anything for evil. Technology is amoral. It will be misused but it shouldn't be avoided because of fear.

  • By that logic, I could kick someone I called in the nuts, well, my shape at the other end of the line will do it...

but this could be a problem.

  • Cool to use as a 3D TV. No need for holographs, which will probably never be perfect, when you can use actual matter.

However, I assume it takes some time for an object to transform into another.

As for communications like in the video, it's a scary thought to think that peope will physically exist in more than 1 place at the same time. Imagine instandtly creating 100 copies of yourself, for example. And imagine the possible crimes that can be committed.

  • i think scientists today are thinking way beyond in the future. This guy will be long gone before they even have a working prototype of this shit.

  • its a borg

  • expect this to be everyday technology in about 40 yrs

  • Type 1 porn. :)~ Anyone?

  • Comment removed

  • Can I infuse it with my DNA and turn myself into a shapeshifting cyborg? That would be neat.

  • A seat of that size made entirely of claytronics would probably be quite pricy.

  • can i have sex with it?

  • in a world of catoms........just think wht wud the situation b in case of a virus affection.....if some1 hacks into these catoms....

  • so how long until scientists invent magic?

  • that last bit was "beyond"

i'd like to get me one of those

  • Imagine how easily we would have caught Osama Bin Laden if we had had this techmology back then. We would have just sent him an apple, he would have eaten it, and when it was in his stomach we would have just transformed it into a bomb!!

  • porn's gonna be AWESOME

  • @hhdivil I bet porn inspired this idea...

  • @hhdivil You'd be having sex with computer chips... This aspect of catoms is completely unethical.

  • @HalfTimesTwo Guarantee you when these are release no one will care about that

  • @Tighearnan2468 You're probably right. In that case I will protest to release these to the public.

  • @HalfTimesTwo Jesus dude, calm down :L I mean, there are blow up dolls and flesh lights and everything that guys hump, how is this any different?

  • @Tighearnan2468 they have feelings because a real person does this

  • we are now slowly transforming into a type 1 civilization ^_^

  • @IvanderHaisley finally humanity! we gave you 3000 years already!

  • @IvanderHaisley I wanna be a type 1 civilian!

  • @SyokFROG who doesn't want to improve?

  • @IvanderHaisley The religious.

  • @SeanACampbell what??!!!!

  • @IvanderHaisley You asked who doesn't want to improve, and I said the religious. I am not sure what you missed?

  • @SeanACampbell oh .. i'm sorry but.. your the one who should be careful .. one of my comments are on top 2...so ... i thought that you meant that .. im sorry >_<

  • @SeanACampbell We can't improve with ignorant people like you walking around

  • @phantom1000A Please explain how you know this to be true.

  • Oh noes! Its them Replicators from Stargate =((((((((( run!

  • i can sense remote porn

  • @Zanco Was exactly what I was thinking once I saw the part at the end.

  • Should I know wtf a "shez" is?

  • O_O transformers will be real one day

  • One day we won't know is a person is real or not

  • phone sex will never be the same.

  • Man´s destiny is to become a wise Creator. We are now about to master the minerals. Next step is to conquer the vegetable and mineral kingdoms. This evolve will hopefully be accompanied by the spiritual one.

  • just wait till the japanese make a sex toy

  • Course, long before we'll have this stuff, 3D printers will be common household appliances. And that ALONE will change everything.

  • that was cool up until he said "they could be used to make a cell phone that turns into a laptop and then back into a phone again". how could the number of catoms used to make a phone possibly morph into something considerably bigger? they can't multiply. and then, where do they go when it changes back?

  • Hello claytronic girlfriend.

  • what happens if one little Claytronic malfunctions O.o?

  • @DigDogStudios then the rest of the catoms will take over the malfunctioned catom, remember each of these catoms have individual intelligence they with figure out there is 1 or 2 missing and try to compensate for it :D

  • I see military abuse of this beautiful tech.

  • [SG1] replicators, anybody?:D

  • @bl00dyf0x

I was totally thinking that. Was just watching the nanite replicators on SGA .__.

  • this is bullshit, it will never happen

  • @persevere67 why do you think so

  • @persevere67 Never means it won't happen in a billion years.

  • "Hey, you have your claytronics on you?" "Yea" "Cool"

    *programs claytronics into self-shooting gun*

  • Your Computer becomes a toy car, your 60" Plasma TV transforms into a Child Book, your Iphone becomes a brick.... WOW!

  • this is 22nd century stuff..

  • Bill Gates had all this 6 years ago..

  • well i would say have Japan help you out, buuuutt their kinda busy making holographic porn at the moment.

  • COMON! I dont belive that you dont got that software right now. Call me if you need help!

  • How much energy is needed as you morph into bigger and bigger structures? Can you build a planet out of them?

  • This is hilarious... Just imagine.. You can screw women over the phone. They don't have to worry about getting aids or pregnant. :)

  • I personally think seeing the person you're talking to melt down into microscopic beads after every conversation would be a little creepy...

  • ugly!

  • Like a Megazord..

  • It's like the flesh! From doctor who!

  • I think the best use for claytronics will be in constructing buildings quickly. Think about it, building an entire city as quickly as on the game supreme commander anywhere in the world within days.

  • @Neoli2300

Sure, but then the entire city would be made of tiny computers which require constant energy, lest they crumble back into millions of tiny marbles...

  • Comment removed

  • @Neoli2300 That really depends on a number of things... How much power will the Claytronics need to consume to keep itself together? How will the weather will affect the Claytronics? Can it even support that kind of weight? How long can the Claytronics operate at that size without resting/crashing?

I can see it being used as parts inside, but to use it to build a building? A whole city? It's just not practical.

  • i'm no physics buff but if they're held together with electrostatic force then won't they discharge after they touch something grounding i.e; you.

  • How did this only get 55K views when some whore singing Friday repeatly got 96 million!?

  • the first thing that would happen is they would be used for the military. Claytronic suits, weapons, vehicles, the list goes on.

  • I don't like the sound of screwing someone when I can turn them into anything at will.

  • this guys is sure dreaming big

  • 11 people are luddites

  • @07751434 Nobody gives a shit, take your thumb whoring elsewhere you fag

  • Forget cars and phones, and as much I'd like to see claytronics porn, forget that as well.

Imagine if they made aircraft/spacecraft using this technology. A spacecraft could be shaped like a ball into while it's orbiting in space and then when it reenters the atmosphere, it could transform and extend it's control surfaces in a landing. Or hey, perhaps even a helicopter could turn into a plane and vice versa.

  • the moment it hits the street it become illegal cuz people hack it and make a universal gun..THANX

  • A man fro

  • i just know someone would bring up the word sex in the comments lol

  • Only issue here is if all of a sudden the power drops, then your catoms go all over the place. :)

  • what happens if i cum on the catoms? cuz i probably will

  • @Drift4Today Well, I assume that eventually, in the fullness of time, our society will evolve into a utopia where everything is free, so catoms will be everywhere and be shared. They will be free to float in the breeze until they pass by the next person that wants to use them. In other words, women in the future are gonna get pregnant in much a similar fashion to pollination.

  • August 21, 2037 :: Area Woman Dead After Claytronic Bed Morphs Into Guillotine

  • ...4,000 children die every hour from starvation...

I absolutely understand the relevance of inventions like this, but first we have to solve other more relevant issues.

  • @Magictrix2y4 this technology is a lot less expensive because it eliminates manufacturers/ factories/transport of the product therefore if made available to everyone, this could eliminate starvation. Nanomachines will create real food by building at the atomic level.

  • @Magictrix2y4 No, you don't understand the relevance of such inventions. You would not have said what you said if you did. The creation of virtual reality systems rivaling reality is an extremely important goal. When we can all jack into the Matrix, with something like a VerteBrane, everything will be free. That means we'll only need to produce the bare necessities of life in the real world. Think of how drastically that will reduce resource consumption.

  • Looks like sex and crime rates are about to go up. Yeh I can turn my cell phone into a rocket launcher! Wewt!

  • I'd like to point out the effects of employing incompetent people in governments, they beleive crap like this and hand out grants. Incompetent people are the reason aid never gets to Africa, or why your credit card doesn't work, or your tax code is wrong, and of course it extends to viral epidemics, terrorist attacks and financial disasters. All the product of giving incompetent people a fair chance.

Claytronics are laughing all the way to bank.

  • Comment removed

  • Whatever we think the future will be is never true...

  • can you have sex with the claytronix people?

  • Goldstein...

  • @justanotherbum007 1984? XD

  • utter bullshit.

  • Stop talking to the film crew and get back to work scientist!

  • Umm, sure this would be an interesting and innovative technology, but they're exaggerating it a little bit. The example of a cell phone turning to a laptop, for instance, is impossible. Say what you want but unless it's a ridiculously small laptop, there just wouldn't be enough matter for it. It's just changing shape with whats there, not adding more to it.

  • @SpyHamster LOL! its funny, every single technology today was once said to be impossible. The notion that pocket sized Cell phones could hold more computing power than the 1st cpu in the early 50's would have been laughed at hysterically in those times. Shrink the computational abilities of a laptop down to the size of a cellphone, than applying claytronics allow that cellphone to expand to keyboard friendly laptop...simple.

  • Who cares about replicating a person? That would cause all kinds of problems. They should just focus on useable things like furniture. Imagine, you could carry a tiny packet with you, like a wallet, and then just tap a button and it could fold into a house:)

  • Wheres my claycondoms at?

  • I really don't understand all the technophobic ramblings in the comments. You guys realize you're on the internet, right?

  • this is going to bust like the cold fusion hype, even the govt is funding this guy...

  • why is it the only major developments in tech these last few years seem to end up with people having sex with robots??

meh this thit will never work anyway so dont get to exited we just simply cant fabricate something that small that is 3D yet, sorry that means NO robo-prostitutes!

  • This sounds like a basic version of utility fog, mostly the same but always solid.

  • AND IT IS NOT INNOVATION THAT PREOCCUPIES ME , IT IS ITS USES, SPECIALLY BY PENTAGON & US ARMY. FOR EVERY STEP HUMANITY DOES TOWARD TECHNOLOGICAL PROGRESS, ANOTHER PARALLEL STEP IS DONE BY HUMAN NATURE TOWARD EVILNESS. I REALLY DON'T KNOW IF SCIENCE IS REALLY THE ANSWER TO ALL THE PROBLEMS OF OUR SOCIETY. MANY TIMES I HAD LONG DEBATES WITH MY colleagues ABOUT THE DARK SIDES OF NANOTECHNOLOGY. BUT MANY SCIENTISTS ARE SIMPLY TO HEAVILY ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT WHAT WILL BE OUR LATEST PUBLICATION.

  • I'm working on the nanosciences from 3 years now, and I know what is the potential of such technologies, they can change the world as we know it today, can do things that we cannot even imagine.

BUT THIS CHANGE DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT IS GOOD. MAYBE HUMANITY NEED TO BE MORE CAUTIOUS OF FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS. THE MODERN SCIENCES CAN GIVE US "UNLIMITED" power OVER NATURE.

BUT NATURE ALWAYS WINS. MAYBE ONE DAY WE WILL PAY A BIG PRICE FOR OUR ADVANCEMENTS.

HUMAN RELATIONS NEVER NEED ANY MODERNIZATION

  • Concept sound very dangerous to me... If these so called claytronic units is nano size, then they can easily penetrate your skin, so everytime you interact with an object made out of this stuff you would probably get claytronics into your body..... That can't be healthy

  • oh goody!!!!! playing with electron shells, still stuck in hell, be a matter devotee, naw

  • Welcome to the world the T200

  • now my room mate can stretch her dildo to any size. lesbeans are in luck

  • At NASA/GSFC we built macroscopic versions of tetrahedral robots--space-filling and reconfigurable. We used our real prototypes to start to figure out their control and communication. We reasoned that we could get the macro level to work with today's tech and then scale down as micro-fabrication got better. About ten years ago we were proposing these ideas for solar sail technology as a 25-40 year stretch goal. Admittedly, mapping all of the asteroids is not as sexy as... Well, never mind...

  • Can't smartly change from Laptop to Phone easily. I mean, you have a set amount of matter, and you would end up with a phone with the same volume of a laptop. Would you want that in your pocket?

  • Imgaine one of them went wrong. These badboys would be mean killing machines :D

  • Claytronics

    AKA

    THE FUTURE LEGO

  • well, that of claytronics can form into a new shape, is believeble. But that it can change from a smal chait to a bed or a cellphone to a laptop is less believebeler. I mean for a laptop you still need more elecktronics and chips then a gsm. Otherwise your running around with a gsm og lenght 20 cm and thickt 5,... with the chair and the bed is it the filling thats the problem. A bed need more then a chair. And for the bed you need diffrent stuff thats support your back and neck like a matras do!

  • So in the future you'll just cheat on your girlfriend with her claytronic clone?

  • Step aside Lego...

  • interesting to say the least but it looks very far away from functionality.

  • So awesome to be real.

    It's for when ?? 20years ??

  • Have they developed any of this???, or even the beginnings of this....

  • ohhhh claytronic armies.

  • is it illegal to kill claytronic human?

  • @DandySham it's about as illegal as dropping your laptop of the roof.

  • so umm the 'catom' woman is gonna drink that cocktail in the last scene? imagine this is what gonna happen in future, there wud be claytronics galfriend, wife, or even babies.

  • What if some one calls me and they want to kill me? Would i be able to defend my human flesh against this claytronicyborg?

  • BRING ON THE JETSON'S CAR!!!

  • The T-1000 is next!

  • The lady at the end of this video was 100% a Claytronic prostitute... :-D. The future is wonderful.

  • Also to add another theory, if they were to even make these impossible clay-trons wouldn't it cause mass mayhem if used to create any type of weapon or vehicle in a instant? Theoretically a man could go from being in a armored suit, then go back and turn them into concealed weapons in less than a minute...

  • if thats durable you coulda actually do absolutely anything, it would be like rediculously amazing.. you coulld.. like... fly... by turing ur phone into a helicopter.. somehow... soudns more like magic..

  • make an avatar

  • You mean catoms, which is made up of lead, can adopt to a variety of environments?

  • Holy christ..would each clatom have to conform to its specific type of matter, such as fabric over metal, or would even those properties be controllable?

  • @Blakebong I think they're going for changing shape, or color. Changing into a specific type of matter such as fabric or metal is changing chemical properties. Definitely a distant, and much bigger step, than this.

  • Can you say "Robot uprising"?

  • How does this compare with utility fog?

  • Could this be like a TV? I've seen the video with the morphing carcoming out of the pool, surely the TV program could morph into a 3d view of the show.

  • T-1000 terminators on the way! Awesome way for Humanity to die.

  • @HeavyMetalRedneck666. Every time I look at the postings for a video having anything to do with robotics, some fucking idiot has to say something about Terminator. Dude you really show yourself to be a true loser with the reference.

  • @powerone1 I'm a loser? Look who's the asshole getting all uptight about a harmless comment comparing two seemingly similar things. If you don't like what I, or apparently others, have to say about something then fuck off you worthless piece shit.

  • @HeavyMetalRedneck666...dude you sound like you are having your period, time to change your tampon.

  • @powerone1 Perhaps you should take the one you have out of your ass.

And you want to know something else that's true? Anyone who gets seriously bent out of shape about about someone who compairs an acutal machine to a fictional one is just a pathetic waste of genetic material.

  • @HeavyMetalRedneck666...the only person that is bent out of shape is yourself with your inane posts and oh yeah, eat shit and die. :-D

  • @HeavyMetalRedneck666...anyone that uses terminator, borg or any other movie/t.v. references only show themselves to be unimaginative dumb fucks...that is just the truth.

  • that last part sounds like high tech whoring? Sex with the ultimate fembot.

  • "Your laptop could turn into a phone"

If we consider how much a laptop weighs, I'm not sure how handy this is in phone-form. Programmable matter doesn't have the ability to lose mass while transforming =P

  • a very thin laptop

  • But it is possible for it to be a smaller laptop< or a thin one< where its not that heavy.

  • it can project virtual keys & mouse for example, it could alter it's dimensions freely as in hight / width, curl around your arm like a bracelet or be part of clothing, though i admit laptop into phone wasn't the best example :D

  • @MarikBentusi. Your phone could to into a pussy...should weigh about the same, what do you think?

  • @MarikBentusi it could turn into an ultra thin laptop without gaining any mass

  • @MarikBentusi or you "could" just get an iphone

  • @MarikBentusi actually it was from phone to laptop and back.

In other words, a very light laptop.

  • @MarikBentusi

true but it's not impossible for less dense materials to be created in the future for the laptop.

  • @MarikBentusi your phone is already a laptop already ;) ( thats if you have a decent phone )

  • This reminds me of those ridiculous videos from the 80s where they thought up crazy technology that do exist now BUT they get the uses and scale completely wrong.

  • Comment removed

  • Stargate stuff

  • And then they decide to start meshing with your own atoms and taking over mankind.

    They'll get in your veins!

  • This is cool stuff and so believable - also watch the crazy morphing suitcase for more like this...

  • Its possible. People said that the telephone wasn't possible or wanted....now everyone has one. What is now reality was once only imagined.

  • @sonicgenki yeah, but people are more educated in science now for this exact reason... So that we don't mistake science with stupid, but who am i to judge, this guys getting paid for these false hopes.

  • Wow what a load of bullshit. I bet they have scammed a lot of Venture Capital from this fantasy.

  • wat catoms??? catoms cant b basic unit man... wat they made of???

  • oops...fascinating...im physicist..but not understanding wat the programable matter is..its believe able till non living things...but living things...3D printer OH MY GODDDD...

  • Will programmable matter ever become a reality? How far away are we from this? See Crazy Morphing Suitcase video for an example...

  • Full-functioning Claytronics + EMP = ?

  • Paste I'm thinking. And then Break will fill with vids of girlfriends, sisters and dads laying on the gray goo. Well worth the effort.

  • = allot of cleaning up aftewards

  • wow. downloadable matter. the possibilites are endless, if the technology really pans out.
