What a shame.. Our relationship with the Lord our God should be a personal thng. Why would anyone worry about what other people think? It is not theirs to Judge!

What happens to women in Muslim countries if they don't have a supportive family. I can surely say so called "kufar "in the country didn't persecute me and that is why how i survived. Muslims are preaching "im alright jack" f---k other rights to life.
he needs more wisdom in what he is saying, he has a valid point, however now there will be some sisters who think it's ok not to wear hijab, or they may think they have an excuse in front of Allah & will not struggle to that step of finally wearing it
That's kinda rude. He just explained why --he's not making an excuse for the sisters. But a hijab doesn't necessarily represent woman's iman. Not all you men are sahabas either, like Hamza Yusuf said. Many women do recognize they're not doing something they should yet. He mentioned that. You guys are lucky don't have to wear something that people try to judge your faith by.
I myself am a hijabi Muslim girl, and I wore it by my own choice. And I found your comments rather callous. Salaam.
Well, the beard isn't nearly as eye-catching and a give-away of a man's faith as a hijab is for girls. Plus, men of other faith wear beards too. It's easier to blend in with, and the hijab has a much heavier stigma attatched to it in everyday society.
he needs more wisdom, and you are....? "they may think they have an excuse infront of allah" sheikh yusuf made it pretty clear that it was fard upon a women, he was saying that men don't see the same struggle that it comes with, yet you are quick to judge a woman who doesnt wear.
Yes but the way he chose his words was not correct! And I'm sick of this guy saying things like "i don't know why people are worried about scarf, or cutting beards etc, when there are bigger problems in the world, he's ignorant! At the end of the day we cant stop the bigger problems like war etc over night but we DO HAVE power to put on a scarf!Allah will judge our individual circumstance!
@ashams22 I think what Sheikh Hamza is saying is u cannot judge people based on outward appearance & that there is more 2 play than simply having the "power to put on a scarf". Thats a simplistic way 2 look at things & life is not so black and white as that.
As a man I can honestly say that I wld find it extremely daunting 2 go out in2 the world and advertise my Islam & be exposed to peoples prejudice about me based on my appearance alone.
stop going to everyone of his videos and posting negative comments about him, you just don't have a good level of understanding of what he is trying to say, he is one of the most learned scholars of this muslim ummah and you are just trying to degrade him, if Allah chooses to honour someone then even if the whole world got together to degrade that one individuale they will never succeed for Allah has given him/her a high status, YOU will not succeed in degrading him
I'm sorry, but this brother is saying things that are wrong. He doesn't sound like a muslim saying things like "or whatever" after every sentence. He is helping to weaken an already weak ummah.
You're not helping the Umma by saying that either. You make people become doubt about his intentions brother. As the prophet said:( if you believe in god and the after life, say something good or be silent)
i hear what he is trying to say. But your right these types of comments in these times are not good. A sister may feel ok now not to wear hijab. He needs more wisdom
If a sister opts not to wear hijab, I personally believe her iman must be really low. She is degrading by exposing her body to others to feed at. Christians are supposed to cover to as said in the Bible, but they dont... It's just the same.
I am a muslim non-hijabi, and I am on my way to covering fully, insh'Allah, in order to please Allah swt. I hope that whenever you meet a non-hijabi sister, you try to guide her with kind words and respect, instead of telling her outright that she's 'exposing her body to feed others' or essentially comparing her to non-believing women. You do not know what is in her heart, or her struggles. Perhaps she just doesn't have a muslim support system. Reach out to your sisters with kindness, always.
That is definately true. Covering for many new sisters is a challenge and it takes efforts from her heart due to the cruel society that sees hijab as a threat to their sight.
I was mainly referring to sisters who were born as muslims, know the purpose of wearing it well, and understand Islam quite well, but still are more afraid of what people think rather than worring about what Allah might think by disobeying His comandments (written from His Scriptures) which is to cover and be modest.
Don't forget male hijaab either. Yes there is a male version. Lower your gaze and cover your awrah and might I add dressing modestly applys to men as well as woman. No tight shirts and pants allowed for men. So get over it, and leave the sisters alone. They know what is right and will do it more for the love of Allah, than a demanding Husband.
Yadda, Yadda, Yadda. Are you finished? The worst people, those who fight with Muslims and bring down the Ummah and destroy Islam a bit more every day: other Muslims. Forget Jews, forget Christians. Muslims are our biggest worst emeny right after Shaytan. If I had know some one these (Kaffer) Muslims, I'd still be a Christian. SHAME on muslims for not being what they should/need to be. Now back to your petty bickering!
anyone commenting on this video trying to slander the beloved shaykh, please fear Allah swt. Do any of you have a front row seat to what's inside Shaykh Hamza's heart? How do you know if he can even grow a beard? SubhanAllah! Please be careful when you speak about people, especially people as loved by Allah as the shuyukh, b/c whether it's in person or online, your angel on the left side is recording it, and it will all be held against you. Rasulullah saws said: Speak good, or remain silent.
so then why is it so well trimmed and lined? those are things comming on everyones mind.. looking closer to his pictures he do have beard on the jaws...
if you spend your time studying with scholars instead of judging them so closely based on outward appearance, you will find that the shafi'i and maliki opinion about the beard are slightly different from the hanafi opinion anyway. my above comment was just to give an EXAMPLE. may Allah allow us to spend our time realizing our shortcomings and fixing them rather than trying to be the khalifa of other people, especially people that are way better than us, Ameen ya Rabb.
instead of judging others you guys and me to0 should first look at ourselves. Clean ourselves first spiritually from the inside. He's right though yes women should wear hijab but in the quran it only says for them to dress moderately and cover themselves. How many muslim men do you see forcing their women to wear hijabs yet they can dress in whatever they want.
Islamic party creates divisions within the same community and isolates other communities. Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Israel are the worst TERRORIST countries in the world but they are GOOD friends of ally. Iranian Mullahs are GOOD friends of Russia. Why Russia and USA use ISLAMIC FANATICS to kill humen beings? Why don't media let the world community know about the historical background of the dirty politics in this world? Why do Christian innocent children learn hating now MUSLIMS?
That is so true. It actually reminds me of the MJ song, means, if you trully want to make a difference and change the world (to see peace and justice) you better look at yourself first in the MIRROR.
After you make a change for yourself then expect others to listen (jeje), ironic.
Peace
Wt da hell are you talking about... Maliki school is not an excuse... theres no excuse to keep a goatee...LMAO maliki, hanifi, hanbali, shafi. No matter what madhab u follow the hadith is clear. If you wanna try and make loopholes in the deen you will find a way to do nearly anything.... Quraan and Sunnah Faqat no innovations through linguistics just what was understood by the Sahabah!!
the beard that is WAAJIB according to many scholars is the hair that grows on the chin... which is what the word lihya means in Arabic... other scholars say its the hair that grow on the jaw bone... and what is WAAJIB is to have them only... ofcourse there are also scholars who say the entire beard is Waajib as well... but then that is difference of opinion amongst scholars...
what u should know is that there is a DIFFERENCE between WAAJIB and SUNNAh...
Being so technical can cause discourse..I guess.. There's no such thing as absolutely correct or absolutely wrong in the matters of khilaf (difference in opinion).. Well, that's my opinion..
Serbian leader is WAR CRIMINAL because he killed 8000 MUSLIMS of BOSNIA. BUT WOULD MEDIA KNOW CRYSTAL CLEAR FACT THAT USA supported GOLAM AZAM of JAMATE ISLAMI party of Pakistan which killed 3 million people, raped thousands of young girls and slaughtered thousands of intellectuals? WHY GOLAM AZAM IS FREE AND WHY SERBIAN LEADER IS CALLED war criminal? Why do USA play dirty games by using ISLAMIC FANATICS? Why can't you call ally of USA war criminal? Why don't Christians priest preach facts?
JEWS (AL-YAHUDY) are alsmot finished. General Jews were scandalized by a few JEWS clerics and fanatics. JEWS do not like photographs, sculpture etc. and JEWS think that they are the best chosen by GOD/Allah. THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING IN Muslim (Al-Musoloman). Yesterday ISLAMIC Politicians and FANATICS preached hating other communities and now they preach hating each other: See Pakistanis and Iraqis. If Islamic extremisms are not destroyed, there will be SEA OF BLOOD within Muslim community.
that would be nice if all muslim men would wear a turban or kufi and a robe to experience what its like to be identified as a muslim. i also agree that brothers should be more compassionate for muslim sisters too. they should ask "what would the prophet s.a.w. do?" beat her, no. throw acid? no. he would pray for them an approach in sincerity and love. mashallah
Al-Hamdulilah!!! Finally an Imam that "gets it." I don't know if its mandatory or not, but I do know that it's not easy and that their are definitely more important issues in Islam that need to be addressed before we worry about whether or not a piece of my hair is showing from under my scarf or if you can seen an inch or two of my neck!!!
any non muslim that accuses islam of having made muslim women wear hijab... read what the bible.. yes the bible says about the hijab!
any version: corinthinas 11:6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered..
What lecture is this from? It needs to be cited properly..

quran rejects your hadiths, and you as a muslim, all sects are non muslims,

Peace

In the Maliki school its ok to have just a goaatee
Islammydeen 3 years ago
Wt da hell are you talking about... Maliki school is not an excuse... theres no excuse to keep a goatee...LMAO maliki, hanifi, hanbali, shafi. No matter what madhab u follow the hadith is clear. If you wanna try and make loopholes in the deen you will find a way to do nearly anything.... Quraan and Sunnah Faqat no innovations through linguistics just what was understood by the Sahabah!!

the beard that is WAAJIB according to many scholars is the hair that grows on the chin... which is what the word lihya means in Arabic... other scholars say its the hair that grow on the jaw bone... and what is WAAJIB is to have them only... ofcourse there are also scholars who say the entire beard is Waajib as well... but then that is difference of opinion amongst scholars...
what u should know is that there is a DIFFERENCE between WAAJIB and SUNNAh...
nobody differs on the SUNNAH!!!
