Everybody is too soft in this even Char. 0079 > Z Gundam. The 2006 trilogy was nice but there were still a lot of things that made no sense or were completely unrealistic. In 0079 the characters a thrust into a do or die situation and adolescents are forced to fend for their lives with the militaries state of the art tech and become decoys so the EFF can mass develop it's MS's. Seeing all these kids all over the place and everybody acting like their ship is a big family just isn't realistic.

this series is a perfect example why kids shouldn't be allowed in the military. with the exception of amuro and kamille of course (too much skills to leave behind). but katz and fa, i mean why are they allowed on the ship. they do things as they please (take the ms out without permission for example).

well zeta is one of the best but its too much of 0079, i mean he didnt add new things but rather just recycled his ides from 0079 into zeta, i mean there are so many things similar between zeta and 0079, but its still good. but double zeta was tomino actually trying something new but most didnt like it but atleast he tried something new

I kind of feel that Zeta was what tomino wanted to make first....If you look at the original gundam Tomino was forced to add allot of super robot stuff in order to get them to air the show. Shuch as the gundam being invincible/the enemy wearing a mask/the battle ship being run by kids, I think that he reused allot of the same ideas In zeta but took out the super robot and some other cheesiness that was in the original to make the dark gritty more realistic piece that he originaly wanted to make

I'm not too fond of zeta and I hate double zeta with a passion. I <3 the orginal 0079 and chars counter attack. I liked everything else I've seen in the UC saga, didn't see V-gundam though.

08th MS team is arguably the best of the gundam series, although it is admittingly short. I like how it isn't fucked up on whether one side is "good" or not, a problem that messes up even Zeta.

Norris is so awesome in that he owns without the hyper reflexive moves a la newtype, but rather manipulates the environment and line of sight to fight.

Now to go off on another tangent, the song is by Janne de Arc. It's rather rare but not hard to find. I believe it's called "Mistake"

although you new gundam fans would like Haisai gundams, it is kind of sad for me to see gundams becoming Musou series or some 2nd rated love story.

Gundam was special becaue they tried

so many new things and actually tried to be scientifically realistic.

Also because they had an clear concept.

Like for instance

First gundam is "Individual overcoming a sadness and difficulties in a war and become a hero"

Zeta is "How a war belittles an individual and ruins his life"

Gundam today is just reusing concepts that were used in first two series and becoming overly simplistic just to appeal to messes. Tomino invented Newtype as an next generation human who can understand and resonate with other person's emotion. In Seed, it is just seed cracking ability that makes you kick ass.

Concept of Seed is what is funny too

I've never seen double Zeta, though I'd like to after I watch Zeta to the very end first. I honestly tried to like GSD but I found that it really didn't do anything creative enough (in that it was pretty-much a mismatched Seed+Zeta+0079 cluster). Don't get me wrong, I like Seed, but GSD had so much potential and wasted it.
