  • military madness on the turbo grafix 16, one of the best games ever

  • I was foolololo'ed again. I thought this had Scoutz in it.

  • Turbo Graffx 16 is highly underrated. It had a lot of great titles on it.

  • Karl Pilkington - the game.

  • I wanna be a cave dude.

  • "You're a cave dude!" has stuck with me ever since I saw the commercial 20 years ago.

  • Hey Knucklehead I'm talkin' to you! BONK!

Man I never knew this game was real. I thought it was just for The Scout...

    BOINK!

  • Christmas morning...1990...nuff said!

  • Bonks must taking alot of aspirin for those killer headaches lol

  • This game STILL is a lot of fun. It still looks good 20 years later!

  • Bonk has only ONE weapon: The WTF Factor.

    Uhm- I mean, his head.

  • Bonk can also bonk sonic the hedgehog!

  • cave dude?

always thought they were referred to as "cave men"

oh well, that can easily be overlooked when you've saved a totally excellent princess!

  • Who turned out to be some pink Loch Ness-looking thing. I just don't get how Sonic being resurrected by a human princess's magic kiss was so evil and unnatural, but no one batted an eye at Bonk's kiss from some pink lizard thing.

  • i fount it romantic... but i guess i can see why others wouldn't.

poor bonk.... didn't ever get the great attention he deserved.

i don't know about you, but running around a 3D stone-age world hitting people with your beautiful high-def head, that sounds like a lot of fun to me.

  • You referring to Brink of Extinction? I thought that was a 2D side-scroller with 3D graphics.

  • it is.

i was just thinking of how it could of gone if bonk followed all the other popular video game characters, like mario, sonic, link. where they all soon ventured into a 3D world, with there 3D selves. the up-coming bonk could fun, but would also be interesting if they later place him in a 3D world. though it could also go horribly wrong.

  • I first played this game only after recently splurging on Wii points, 20 YEARS after the game was made. And I loved the shit out of it, so I see where you're coming from.

  • I bought the T16 when it was 50$ and I returned it because I wasn't impressed. Sad that it didn't ship with a blockbuster hit game. It might of done better.

  • I do enjoy a game where you have to use your head.

  • Bonk! Brings back so many memories =(

  • BONK

  • Not really Super Mario Bros. 3, just a lookalike, but it is clearly making fun of it.

  • Say goodbye to you knee caps chuckle head, BONK!

  • I MUST DESTROY!!!

  • Everyone likes to think Sonic was the first to challenge Mario but Bonk clearly started it all Sonic just made it public.Bonk really deserves more limelight than he gets.

  • It doesn't really help that the TurboGrafix 16 had a much shorter lifespan and much smaller userbase than the SNES and Genesis/Megadrive. T-16, despite being a cool console, wasn't the console everyone owned. The majority or people had a Super Nintendo or a Sega Genesis.

Just another underappreciated gem in the realm of video games.

  • I still have those games Bonks Adventure and Bonks Revenge and two TurboGrafx 16 and more games, and still works.

  • OH SHIT, I've been looking for this specific ad for a while on Youtube. Nostalgia rush!

  • The NES version is nothing compared to this one.

  • Great advert. Such a shame the turbograpx-16 is an underrated console. Some great games.

  • i saw on Wikipedia that this game became freely redistributable.

  • Great game, it's just unfortunate that it came out at the wrong time. Considering the popularity of Nintendo and Sega this didn't have a chance against the likes of Super Mario World and Sonic the Hedgehog.

  • it's also beyond hilarious to note that Bonk's Adventure originally came out on the NES.

  • Actually, the NES version of Bonk's Adventure came out three years after the TurboGrafx-16 version.

  • oh, really? anyway, it's still really ironic that he ever even appeared on a Nintendo console.

  • @bignukkaplaya wrong.

  • 'Bonk,' the head-banging cave-dude that started it all on the 'Turbo Grafx 16'! (^_-)

  • I bought the Japanese version "PC Genjin" today from ebay. Can't wait to try it out! ^_^

Oh if you are wondering about the title, "genjin" means "primitive man" or "caveman". The Japanese title is a clever pun of PC Engine which is what the TG-16 is called over there.
