im the peer counsellor for the african refugee community in my district & ive found that 99% of refugee families are very skilled hard working people that had high ranking positions before they were forced to escape sudan. Refugees shudnt necissarily be seen as unskilled assylum seekers because thats NOT what they are

I am not saying that refugees are unskilled in the sense that they have no skills.

Allot of people in Britain find it hard to migrate to Australia because they do not possess the skills that Australia is in need of. For example, a truck driver may find it harder to migrate to Australia than an engineer. That isn't to say that truck drivers are not hard working. But in the context of Australia, truck driver migrants are 'unskilled'.

refugees are classified as people who are under direct threat from a superior force & have to escape because they are being prosecuted for race, or values, therefore under the australian refugee act. 1980 (cwlth) defines their needs as higher than immigrants, if immigrants are in danger, they can seek refugeeship & come over quicker.

as for the unskilled part, i totally understand being in an immigrant family myself, however thats where my job comes in. My job is to mentor new sudanese refguees with western skills & intergrating properly. believe me, from what ive seen, alot of refugees (not just sudanese) are very quick learners & work very hard to build new lives. i know im biased here, but i see refugees as no different immigrants but r fast tracked for safety reasons, they pose no economic or social threat to australia

African refugees should NOT be allowed into Australia. I myself have experienced the violence and racism of Sudanese refugees in Australia. They come from a war-torn, racist, filthy, disease-ridden country. That is what they aim to turn Australia into. At the end of the day, it is our country, we decide who comes and doesn't.
