Make sure you light your kettle in an area filled with combustible material as this video shows. Therefore, you are guaranteed a HOT cup of coffee, as well as your dumb hot ass on the run! Better yet, join a local Boy Scout Troupe that actually does " primitive camping." Then you will have no need to waste your money on these non-necessities! Don't get me wrong here, but if I bought all the camping gear on these videos, I'd need a semi-tractor trailer to haul all this crap.

the point of the kelly kettle is to contain the fire in a safe container that wont cause any damage to surrounding wildlife if the fire got out of hand also it boils water very quickly and can cook food on it easily.
you obviously have never cooked outdoors !

@kingbleah you have to pick up the kettle with both hands on the handle holding it at a 90 degree angle to the kettle and lift it off the base that way. then you can set it down and use one hand to lift it up and the chain to tilt the water out. To answer your question - yes, second and third degree burns to the fingers are possible if you have flames coming up the interior funnel.
You know the best way to cook carp?First you nail it to a board,cook it over over an open flame,then you take the carp off the board,throw away the carp and then eat the board!
@jonewer It does, but I carry a green scrubbie pad to clean it off once I am home or once it cools because I carry my firestarting kit in a plastic ziploc stored in the inside with the inverted base making a nice 'cap'
I love my Kelly. It's a good idea to keep it off the fire once your water has boiled otherwise the seams can split and it gets leaky. Same thing can happen if you try to add cold water as soon as you've emptied it, the shock of the cold on the hot metal can strain the seams.
the track is Deadmau5 - i remember. this is the 2.5 pint version which is good as i drink a lot !
as for cooking on it,,i have the attachments and pot but haven't tried yet, but will have a go soon when i get chance, but to be fair when it is lit i cant see a problem cooking on it apart from occasionally having to drop a few sticks into the top of the kettle chimney.
since i have started to use it i have had loads of comments about it, mostly guys wanting to buy one as they are so impressed !

It looks like it reduces smoke, at least directs the smoke.
It appears to hold the hot water hot, as well.
It appears the double layer, with the fire on the inside contributes that extra warmth.
I would say, even after the fire is over.

I have this and love it. Has worked in all 4 seasons and never let me down. You can also cook on it with the rest of the kit they sell.

Its not a design fault.
Rotate handle 90 degrees up and lift off with both hands.
remove your strong hand from the handle and grab the cork and pour.
If the flame has died down you can be a cowboy and just grab the handle with one hand and lift the kettle off the fire pot.
