@skolnick14 - I agree with you about the string mute being homophobic - unless it is absolutely necessary; this is one of those cases. You can clearly hear a large amount of string noise in the lick; this coming from a notoriously clean player. During a solo, the rest of the band would drown out the ringing open strings. But here, the mute would have made the lick even more effective by eliminating the noise...

@orbita1 afaik , it's a custom made for him. he's got the tone knob blocked and that's a flame maple top and headstock . it isn't a stock model .

@aryinc I've got a Marshall JCM2000 DSL100 and two JCM900 1960LEAD 4x12 Cabs, and I could NOT be happier! However, MOST of what I have seen (and heard) from ENGL is simply MIND-BLOWING! They are a little pricey, but along with a Mesa Boogie Stiletto, ENGL would be the only other head I would consider getting.

others for "just in case" moments. i donno he has his pick locked on his thumb so he wouldnt really need that. but its a pick nonetheless

its so that he can both pick normally and use his fingers for certain song parts to make it easier for himself without losing the pick if he opens his hand

eg. the acoustic solo in holy wars
