In a way the people who help kill purely for money are more dangerous than the people who kill for a cause or a belief. The true believers usually only kill people they deem "evil" or a threat. Mercenaries will help kill anyone, all it takes is money.
except people deemed "evil" might just be ordinary people living in an opposing nation, and one thing for sure is mercenaries arent gonna wrap themselves in explosives and walk into a civilian populated area, why? because they can't spend the money if they blow themselves up.
But any idiot can wrap themselves in tnt and blow up a bus. Mercenaries can perform complex military actions that joe schmo terrorist could never do. You're right that a mercenary would never blow himself up, but he could still blow up a bunch of people on a bus and do it again the next day.
I strongly disagree!! If u pay someone to kill others they are not truely loyal to u and they will easily betray u if they are offered more money. If u are killing for a cause u believe in u will usually stop at nothing to get it done as u see on 24!

The Nuclear bomb storyline in Season 2 lasted 15 hours in 24 related time but in this season it last only 3 hours, it seems a bit silly to be honest.
