I'm about to cry that I just found this. I couldn't believe my fortune about 10 years ago when I found a CD. As far as I knew, I was the only kid in SC that knew anything about this band in the 80's. This is my theme song, always has been.
I saw this show in Detroit, and it was SO epic it literally changed my life. After the show I had the priviledge of talking to Mark and John for over 2 hours. They were so gracious and kind and giving to all of (us) fans. I think the only way I'd top this night would be talking to Bowie for 2 hours :-D
Apologies to Reg and Dave, but this might just be the definitive live recording captured of this unbeatable classic. It's basically flawless. Altana and Dwerryhouse absolutely kill it.
This song still gives me goose bumps! I discovered this song at my favorite club of all time, Manray in Boston, which sadly closed in 2005. Is there a good quality posting of the album version on YouTube per chance?
Thanks so much for uploading this. I remember this tour very well. I have to say that I enjoyed these concerts much more than the shows on the reunion tour. Why? I still remember the last Chameleons concert in Bremen. I had the impression that no all members of the band were enjoying it. At least one of them had a clear lack of motivation and you could see that he was only in for the money. Very sad. They split again soon after that.
This is easily one of the highest quality live performances I've ever seen posted, regardless of the fact that it's one of my most loved songs of -All time-. Kudos.
This is pretty killer, but I wish there was footage of The Chameleons playing this in '86/'87, but I guess none of those shows got filmed - assuming they toured at that time when they packed it in.
I was goin through boxes and just stumbled into all my Chameleons UK Albums which brought me here. This song is still just AWESOME!! Just as iconic as anything Echo and the Bunny Men or The Cure ever put out. I guess you could argue the spirit lives on in songs like those of The Arcade Fire and Interpol but I miss bands like the Chameleons UK.

Best version of Swamp Thing I've heard it's great. Is that John Lever on the drums? I can't believe I was only 1 years old when this came out lol.
