Want to inform you that Punta Rock was started in the '80s by Garifuna Pen Cayetano and the Turtle Shell Band in Belize. I was there to see the whole thing unfold.....Lord Rhaburn sang about it and prophesy about the Punta vibes, but it was Pen that did the ultimate Punta touch with electric guitar and Garinagu drumming....hence the term Punta Rock. Many groups have strayed from real drumming to computerize sequences, giving punta no justice....Not arguing just do the research.
