Bird's was better because his shot was clearly lined up and shot with skill, meaning he could have repeated that shot 5 more times in a row.

Kobe's was a pure luck throw up that he couldn't make again to save his life.

Bird can outshoot Kobe with all of Bird's shots coming from behind the board & all of Kobe's shots coming in front of the board.
