  • as bad as this game looks now I seem to remember it was way ahead of its time back then

  • omnicorp is all knowing

  • If u have problems with getteing this game working on ur pc, well download dosbox from dosbox.com. U can also find FAQ's there on how to use it if u donno. For me it worked perfectly even with sounds. This game is awesome.

  • This game had some very nice colours...I remember this really impressed me then..

  • PLEASE OHHHH PLEASE WILL SOMEONE REMAKE THIS GAME!!!

  • THIS GAME

    THIS GOD DAMN FUCKING GAME!!

  • This game is the shit. Oops was the shit. I want to find a copy of this game sooo bad

  • I loved this game. gotta live abit nostalgia :) remember desent?, thats another one :)

  • @mickys514 Ha! I was playing both at the same time...aah memories!

  • This game needs a (properly done) sequel so bad

  • I remember reading about this game in gaming magazines when I was 12. Never got to play it, but it's fun to see a video nonetheless. ;)

  • woot!

  • i was so lucky to buy this game off of someone on ebay 2 yrs ago! i use to play this in 96. best game ever from that time frame!!!! still love it! but can't get it to work on pc.

  • ew he bought the reaper pack... GO PUNISHER!

  • 2:08 'Did you steal yo' license?!" XD

  • I remember seeing this game at a "Zellers" store way back in the day. It also said it was CD version on the box. Shame I never picked it up.

  • Now, after seeing this, I'll have to find this game again and play it.

  • Great game. Surely the forgotten inspiration for the likes of GTA? Where can i get it to play it again.

  • This game deserves a remake!

  • I used to love the third district - Old Kemo. It had so much flair. At the end you fight a taxi just like yours.

  • i like zombie driver look it up

  • This game was awesome. I killed many a hour playing this thing.

  • to this day i still don't know how to advance in this game..i used to pick up passengers for hours,.and nbody showed up to tell me which was my first mission :( any help?

  • I liked this game well enough, but the sequal was one of my favorites.

  • If I remember correctly, this game had more to it than picking up passengers for money. I think there was some kind of storyline to it. Something involving OmniCorp?

  • @TheSpatulaCity

Sure there was a story line. I consistet of placing bombs, running special persons over, destroying a special vehicle. Without following the plot you can never leave even the first town district.

  • Remember playing this game alot when I was young. :)

    A classic. :)

  • I remember this cool game!

  • Este juego era genial, ahora que lo veo, recuerdo cuantas horas me la pase frente a mi ordenador, apreciando esta maravilla gracias por subirlo.

Por cierto lo podria correr a velocidad normal en windows 7??'

  • is it possible to extract sprites and textures/sounds from this game?

  • Ugh sorry for the double post.

  • is it possible to extract sprites and textures/sounds from this game?

  • the omnicorp is all knowing

  • Great game. Excellent post.

  • is that where c-dogs got their sound effects?

  • reminds me of that one scene in heavy metal. this was in the doom and duke3d days, fuckin rad times

  • I've had a copy of this game for years but I could never get it to work lol

  • Excellent , I ll never forget great times spent playing this game

  • Apologies if this has been asked already, but does anyone know what engine this game used?

  • It was custom raycasting engine.

  • This game was very ahead of its time, basically like an early GTA in design. It did a lot of things right and is highly under-rated.

  • can u find this game anywhere online and will it work on a windows XP????????

  • @JOSKE123100 um...these are dos games...they only work in dos. you need a dos emulator. try dosbox

  • Thanks for making the video. The game was pretty brutal :)

  • How the fudge is this more violent than any GTA game?

  • For some reason, I always remembered that guy's laugh. Even after 15 years since playing the game.

  • The best graphics ever LOL

  • I loved this game. It would be cool if somone did a remake of it.

  • wow just have bruce willis driving and call it the fifth element.hahaha

  • definitely one of my favourite soundtracks to anything!

  • thr carmageddon game ancestor..

  • how do you accept missions?i just used to take a lot of people around, but nobody gave me missions..

  • I sure do remember this :) great game for it's time

  • Greatest taxi cab game everyyy

  • Wow, man. looking back 'pon this game, which I was completely obsessed with, I'm really amazed by the quality of the graphics and the versatility of the engine. Massive levels, lots of detail and what appear to be structures of varying heights. not only that, I remember getting decent quality gameplay on a system that was far from super-powered.

The password to leave level one is "The meek shall inherit zilch."

    If I remember correctly.

  • Hey! I thought it was "Omnicorp is all knowing" XD I agree with you 110%. It was a great game and still is for - as you rightly put it - its versatility. The game play was what game play should have been and should still be: challenging but intuitive.

  • lol, i used to drive around the demo version for hours...

  • Cool.. i like the sound of the engine...today i've played the demo (the demo was wide spread on older shareware cd-roms) wich has no sound... the game reminds me extremely of carmageddon wich is surely based on quarantine and also has the same engine

  • What was the ending to this game, if there was one....

  • you leave the city.

  • @SeeSp0tRun

In the end you are assigned to place a bomb at the Omnicorp headquarter if I remember correctly. it's a long way to get there though..

  • good 'ol days with quarantine... It's like crazy taxi on steroids xD

    for all the fans...

    OMMNICORPISALLKNOWING

  • Thanks for posting this...couldn't think of the name of this game. All i could recall is the taxi cab. Thank you so much.

  • Actually, I had that wrong eariler. On 3do version, Track 1 is "Now You Know". Berlin Chair is not on 3do version and the game has a total of 10 tracks; not 11 like in the pc version.

Question to anyone: The song I'm specifically looking for, which is on track 7 in the 3do version, has a female lead singer (or at least I think it's a female) and its kind of a slow groove. Is that Uranium Watch??

I'm not talking about the loud chick on track 5 singing "YOU DONT LIKE ME ANYMORE!!!"

  • the song with the female singer with the slow groove is "Weak Will" by Underground Lovers

  • Really, because doesn't Underground Lovers have a male lead singer?

  • it sounds like a female singing. i am trying to post a link to the song but Youtube wont let me

  • Again, thanks for your help. Too bad that Youtube is being a pain in the ass. Some of these songs are hard to find. They're good, too.

  • yeah, all the songs are very good. And a lot of "different" styles of songs too. I love running over people to "The Wahooti Fandango".

I think i still have my PC disk here somewhere. i am going to have to rip the songs again in better quality.

  • is it possible to download this game off a site?? i used to like finding that drive in movie theatre wit the dancing weenies..

  • Its on Abandonia....

  • Anyone know the name of the song in this game that is on CD track 7 in this game? Is it Underground Lovers - Weak Will; anyone know? Please respond?

  • track 7 is "Uranium Watch" by The Daisygrinders. At least that what is says from my cd-rom rip. My favorite song of the bunch was "The Wahooti Fandango" by Custard.

  • Thanks. The only problem is, your playing the pc version and I have the 3do version. In the 3do version, the first song is "The driver is you", which I think is the last song on the pc (track 11). The 1st song on the pc version should be "Berlin Chair". 3do is missing that song and only has 10 tracks, so I don't know if they're mixed up. Wouldn't be a big deal, except I cant find some of these songs anywhere on the internet, so I can't crossreference! It's a pain in the dick!

  • PC Track Listing by number: Song Name Artist 1. Berlin Chair - You AM I 2. The Driver is You - The Fauver 3. The Wahooti Fandango - Custard 4. Ingrown - Smudge 5. Lie Down Forever - Godstar 6. Snail Trail - Screamfeeder 7. Uranium Watch - The Daisygrinders 8. Weak Will - Underground Lovers 9. Whirlwind - Hellmenn 10. Yellow Beam - Crow 11. Now You Know - Sidewinder
  • i have been searching for 14 years for the track named: Berlin Chair - You am i

I used to play this old game as a little kid but since im not english/american i didnt understand what they were singing

I remember i had a big card with all sorts of codes i had to enter in order to play the game

no code = not playing :D

very very nostalgic to me, thanks so much!

  • Oh, I'm sorry. I mistook you for the guy that posted the vid. My bad, but thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

  • i own this game but have a problem. it wont work with windows vistas will it???? is there anything i can do? i made a folder on my desktop and installed it on it. anything?

  • Man I love the 90's style of games.

  • the poeple dieing sound like beavis and butthead

  • Loved this game when i was young

You should have pissed off a truck ....they turn around with a giant turrent on their ass and fire

  • This was the greatest driving game ever in my opinion. I still have it and the splatter ratio chart that it came with. What I DON'T have is a PC that can play it. If only I had kept that old Packard Bell.

This game ranks up there with Master of Orion and Ultima as some of the best nostalgia you can get.

  • Every modern computer can play this game with DOSBox. If you're not familiar with the program, there are lots of video guides here on YouTube that can show you how to use it.

  • I'm useless with computers and I can never get DOSbox to work on my old games. Master of Magic, X-com, whatever. Not saying it isn't possible, I'm just not smart enough. :)

  • DOSbox is hard to work with, I agree, I only use it to play Harvester, but I have to go trough the pain of mounting a seperate station, and then the game itsself everytime just to get it to work under XP.

  • DOSBox should be used together with a frontend (like DOSBox Game Launcher), so that you only have to install and configure the game once, and then just click on the game's name on a list and let the Game Launcher do all the work for you (mounting drives etc.) every time you want to play it.

  • thanks man. i need to find out how to do this.

  • Just get a 3DO and this game off ebay. Thats the version I have. It doesn't run quite as well, but it's close enough. I think you'll save yourself a lot of headache without trying to use that DOSBox thing.

  • Install dosbox. Open up dosbox.conf in the installation directory. Make sure that under [cpu], "core" and "cycles" are both set to "auto".

Create another folder in the root of your C drive called "games" so that its path is C:\games and fire up dosbox. First "mount c c:\games", then if your cdrom is "e:" then "mount d e:\ -t cdrom". Type "d:" then enter, then "install". The game should install. When it's done type "c:" then enter, then go to where you installed it, run setup, and play.

  • it came with this single sheet of paper that had letters all over it and some weird characters...every time you started it up you had to match the x and y axis to come up with an anti piracy code to authenticate your copy. the piece of paper was supposedly copy proof but if you put hte copier on the lightest setting you could clearly see the characters and distribute it freely amongst your friends..hahahah

  • duz anny onw know were i can download this it brings back so many memories

  • Where's the CD music??

  • I heard that the Japanese version of Carmageddon was censored and instead of running people over, you run over dustbins? Haha. If this is true than what would they think of Quarantine? Nice Video btw, very nostalgic.

  • Well, the Japanese PlayStation version of Quarantine is called "Hard Rock Cab", and has green blood...

  • @Demiath Are we talking about the same Japan that has chicks puking and shitting into each other's mouths, or tubgirl laying in a tub shitting some orange substance from her ass onto her face, or testicles raping women?? Green blood? honestly....

  • @gzussturbo I see you have some in-depth knowledge (which you seem to regret having ever acquired) of certain Japanese subcultures of which I'm blissfully ignorant. But, yes, that nation has some interesting double standards when it comes to general decency. Green blood in Hard Rock Cab and abysmal mysogyny in even mainstream anime and manga...

  • Have you had your hydrodyne today?

  • Carmageddon is way more brutal and violent then this. So is GTA.

  • Carmageddon was indeed violent but had a much less grim and oppressive atmosphere than Quarantine does. And kid-friendly titles such as GTA III and IV aren't nearly as gory as either of those games.

  • I used to have the demo of this, loved it. Where can i get the full game?

  • You can always google it. It's not difficult to find.

  • The Meek Shall Inherit Zilch...

    :D

  • Ahh IT lessons at high school! What an amazing game.

  • superb game:)

  • great game now i want to play it again

  • meeemories

  • lol I was like 8 when I played this...23 now...where did time go?

  • man i feel the SAME WAYYYY

  • Wow! I can tell the pc version is much better that the 3do version!

  • uashhhh que chimbaaaa me trae muchos recuerdos jajaja del putas parce del putas.... esto si es la verdadera vieja escuela hermano( thi´s the true old school)

  • Total frustration when you stop to pick up a customer and then some ass-hole hits you from behind sending you a further 0.1km and you lose the fair. It happened several times in a row sometimes. Luckily there was a button you could press to hear your guy swear.

  • Oh my god I used to love this game!

    Thanks for uploading :D

Yeah if anyone knows where I can get this let me know please :)

I remember buying it on Floppy disk back in the day.

  • you can download it as an abandonware for free. it's not hard to find it on google. with the DosBOX you can play it on nowadays computers.

this game rocks, i like it, i play it ;]

  • This game was great. Overlooked gem for sure.. Totally immersive experience for me (has that escape from new york vibe to it).

  • This game totally needs a remake.

  • Yes, a lot of people may think there's no room for more GTA-style games, but I think a new Quarantine could really shake things up in a good way...

  • Ha, i actually remember playing this game when i was a kid... i think we had the shareware demo for DOS
