I personally know of two EX GAY men, well, they CHOOSE to be celebate for the cause of Christ. They feel its their lot in life to be a eunic for the Lord. I appaul them for knowing whats right for THEM. I am not saying its for everyone, but its right for them. Are they still gay? Yes they are. Do they choose to live the lifestyle? No..they dont. Get over it and live your life.

Ex-gay groups are a refuge for people who have been rejected from their families and churches for their sexual orientation, and rejected from LGBT communities for their conservative religious beliefs. It's a tough situation.

Should this person be obliged to see things the way you guys want him to? I am 50 years old gay man who has been an activist in the LGBT community for most of my life as an out person.

Yes, I still have some good friends in the community and even full head of hair.

But recently something happened and I have realized that all this gay life I have led has been basically an exercise in futility.

You know that people, both gay and straight, who repress their sexuality and psychosocial development don't develop normally and often become adults with sexual attractions to children. Hey buddy. That's a good one.  I don't believe that there really is such a thing as being "ex-gay". If someone says 'they "were/us-to-be" gay, but not any longer' then they were NEVER gay to begin with. If anything, they were possibly BISEXUAL and just never realized it!

Doesn't aging happen to everybody? Those good looking, straight guys posing on the beach are going to lose thier status as babe magnets,too. I know too many mature gay men that are still attractive, both physically and emotionally.
