Q2 - in TvT because your units have equal range ie. they're the same, when taking into account the fatness of the fat buildings you can sit back and snipe the wall. also on some maps it isn't necessary to wall off in TvP - depending on rush distance and your micro. also see what I did with the answering of your questions? thought it was a nice touch =P

@Jynasion07 2 main reasons (though they overlap) - 1.when Boxer pushed with his army he was hoping to do some serious damage to Jinro. however seeing the Thors he knew he had to retreat (no way he could take them down fast enough) as he also left the other Thors that killed his left expos.

2. his natural was pretty much mined out and his only running expo was the island. he needed to protect his new expo in order to stay in the game. 1.5 basing would not give him the economy to win.

@Roeshamboe05 uh no he's a really good SC1 player - and i'm honestly not surprised at all that he isn't doing as well here as he did in the first. you'll also notice that players who went pro the moment this was out were mostly progamers of other 3d rts games like War3 and DoW - that's because the transition from one type of 3d system to another is much easier than going from a 98' sprites based system to full 3d.

Jesus... Boxer's really having a lot of trouble adapting to SCII. Not breaking out of the Brood War playstyle really cost him the game because he didn't have the economic advantage from orbital commands and an efficient Thor counter to win the game. Disappointing.

@christivie121 because you're paying for units that arent being made, those minerals could be spent on other stuff. and its bad to have too much resources since they should be being spent on things, as for overexpansion, it can put you too far behind in army size until you've been mining for a bit.

Queuing 2 units in the same production building is inefficient because those resources are locked down but not doing anything until the first unit has finished production; much more efficient to use those resources to start construction or upgrading faster. It's bad to have a large bank of resources simply because it means you're not spending efficiently and therefore suck at the game.

thors are actually a hard counter to bcs, believe it or not. The bc's attack is like 8 and thors have a ton of armor so its like 5 damage per hit from bc

and 1 volley from like 12 thors kills 1 bcs

@STarCRAFT4BRITS wait a minute, an unupgrades thors armor is 1 so battlecruisers deals 7 damage per shot. The Battlecruiser is the one with the high armor of three which really screws the thor over. The thor only deals 12 damage per missle attack (since it fire 4 missles of 6 damage against armored) which has a way higher cooldown

@rl0u8888 Apm for all sc2 players is lower than sc1 players, not just Boxer. It's because you need less actions to do simple tasks. i.e. you can rally your workers to mineral fields automatically, you can select your entire army and put it in one control group, etc. etc.

Boxer played well but he's nowhere near his peak.

Poor macro, poor decision making, no upgrades.

He was maxed out at one point with a bunch of gas and minerals. He opted to double expand but that ended up doing nothing since none of them were saturated and both were planetaries so no mules could be summoned.

Boxer just needs practice and I can see him doing muuuuuch better.
