The only difference between a guitar pick and a bass pick is if you are holding a bass or a guitar in your hand. I've known guitar players that use thicker picks than I do (if I do use them).

There's no such thing as a specific guitar or bass pick. There are picks in different thicknesses, and it's whatever the musician feels comfortable playing with. I play bass with a rediculously thin pick when I pick, else I use fingers. Most people would consider that a "guitar" pick, but to me it's just a pick. I will use a thicker pick if I want a greater attack on the strings. However, there really is no such thing as a bass pick.
