  • can't imagine the seventies had that different food than now, maybe sum lsd in the soup lol

  • giles looks like howard moon!

  • @canadianwoman1961 - we ate fresh stuff in the 70's too and no fast food -we were a lot fitter .we ate less, drank less and waked more.I don't recognise the food they're eating. Our bacon never had water in it,our eggs were tastier(and fresher)and we didn't think of drinking before 6pm.

  • Anyone know what the song is from 4:15-5:00???

  • @simoleon88 "You ain't seen nothin' Yet" by Bachman Turner Overdrive

  • I realized why '70s Giles seems so adorable- he reminds me of Paul Rudd's character from Anchorman

  • can anyone tell me what song is playing at 6:45 ??

  • If I didn't know any better, I would be convinced that they are a true couple lol

  • sue is so beautiful... it's not impossible for giles to fall for her... that is... if only she wasn't gay...

  • we ate fresh stuff in the 70s....salads, mashed potatoes, meat, fish, fruit......it must have been different in the UK.

  • @canadianwoman1961

Not everybody ate like this in the UK during the 70's.

  • @RedRoosterRoad I would hope so!! Horrible packaged foods.

  • Sue looks stunning with long hair. ><

  • yep sue should have lived in the 70's so far ^^ i haven't had full fat milk in years. I'm also eating angel delight :D BUTTERSCOTCH! why have strawberry or chocolate? butterscotch is awsome

  • that's the shit we like to eat.

  • Zowie!

  • how do they know it's Dutch(ish)? :P

  • Sue looks HOT.

  • When Giles said "Unable to delay the inevitable any longer" I thought he was going to set loose his x-ray fart. I was disappointed that they just ate the mushroom bacon thing instead.

  • Sue looks FIERCE in this episode. God I love her!

  • So we have less exertion now than in the 70's, but we spend our lunch breaks at the gym? And we eat fewer calories. Yet we're fatty fat fat! Obesity apocalypse! Maybe there's a 3rd variable there guys. But if it's not eating and it's not exercise, we couldn't blame it all on the deathfatties. We'd have to look at social programs, poverty, junk food subsidies, dieting culture... Ew, critical thinking.

  • @Xhollzy We don't have to think about "social programs, dieting culture"

The plain and simple fact is: More junk food is available today, and people are lazy and can't be bothered to exercise and eat a healthy diet.

  • Fanny Craddock is so disturbing, she looks like an anaemic rubber Ronald McDonald mask...

  • @lonesomeflower Or a zombie transvestite.

  • @lonesomeflower i believe you hit the nail on the head.

  • Which is the episode with the frog pie? Is it online?

  • @Annabibble That's the Elizabethan episode. I think it is online, yes.

  • What is all this rubbish about calories? I thought that by now everyone knew the calory theory was declared rubbish by its discoverer a few years after it was discovered in the 30s.

  • Low calory is absolutely stupid. Just eat until you feel satisfied, and then stop.

If you are eating the healthiest foods for your body, your body will tell you when it has had enough.

  • so thats a fart waiting to happen LOL

  • anyone know what the song at 6:33 is?

  • But the board! His groin! It works on so many levels!

  • I bet the acid gave them some weight

  • @9Iamthewalrus LMAO really. Acid always made me never want to eat. Well back in the day.

  • OMG BUFF SUE! I've always found her attractive, but the 70's really make her look amazing! :) x

  • @UtterlyHeleno Yeah, she looks pretty good here I must say.

  • Is it just me or does anyone else think Sue has a crush on Giles? I think they're both awesome by the way!

  • @TheGmgirl77 Sue's gay, I doubt she's crushing over Giles

  • So, are they together or not? I got the impression that they were just friends but that second kiss that giles went in for before work kinda....I dont know....just makes ya wonder >.>

  • @emofestjazz sues a lesbian lol

  • lol when Jiles sacked himself with the skateboard, I couldn't stop laughing.

  • Red sky at night, angel delight, red sky in the morning... angel delight! Find a penny, pick up a penny and all day long... ANGEL DELIGHTS!

Hehehehe, I love that! I love these two, it's awesome xD

  • Thank you so much for this upload, I absolutely love this show! I can watch this all day and not get sick of it.

  • Sue and Giles are an absolute hoot. Food apart, the 70s are to be remembered as a delayed-action fashion joke at the expense of men. Young blokes looked just a bit silly, but ageing or middle-aged juveniles looked simply pathetic and sad in retrospect!

  • Where's the Led Zeppelin music?

  • i love the music and cocktails of the 70's....funny as i was born at the very end of the 70's, but a good cocktail before 12 noon without the guilt on a weekday sounds like a good idea to me.

and i must say with long hair and make up sue really does look very attractive.

  • This show is hilarious. I'm so glad they show it here in Canada.

  • Sue Perkins with the wig bears a striking resemblance to Stacy London, of the American "What Not to Wear".

  • 3:46 is absolutely hilarious

  • For christs sake BBC get these series out on DVD, any idiot can see how popular they are !!!!

  • angel delight is gleurchghgch

  • All Un-uploaded episodes will be one my channel sometime in the next few weeks, 'Edwardian Supersize Me', the one off show that led to the series being made is already up

  • I love BBC's inventive and unique shows.

It's like one day, I'd be wondering, hey, why hasn't anyone made a show about eating the foods from different periods and comparing it to today?

And boom, BBC already nailed it. I don't know about 70's, I can't imagine it being as funny or interesting as Victorian or Restoration, but I'll see...

  • i love this show XD

  • Butterscotch. MMMMMMMM!

  • Thanks for uploading, I've really missed this programme!

  • Could you upload the Edwardian or Roman episodes?

  • sue is a 70's hottie...i think we'll all agree...allthough if anyone has seen season 2 she looks really good as a blonde in the 80's

  • Yay! Thanks for posting these, I loved this series and it doesn't seem to be out on DVD.

  • I love the supersizers episodes but why do they have to have huge wages? Why can't they live on what the average salary was in each era?

  • they might die

  • @lornaross1984 They don't always. In the Wartime episode they have to live in rations too, which was interesting.

  • GREAT. Love those two together!!!

  • Oh lordy, twigletts! They are foul! But I have to eat one if ever they're on offer!

  • The song at 2:00, can anyone recall what it is called?

  • All The Young Dudes by Mott & The Hoople

  • wow..giles's fart!

  • Since I live in the States, I am very glad to see the Supersizers series has been uploaded onto YouTube. Thanks!

  • I'm suprised there isn't a US version of it, why not? Gordon Ramsey and Simon Cowell have been in on the action!

  • Even if there was, I'm not sure it would be a big hit. Plus, we don't have as many fabulous historical periods to study :(

  • @mallyland fair enough

  • Comment removed

  • Wow - "abstemious." Never actually heard anyone use that word before.

And yeah, Sue's got it going on in this episode.

  • Giles is HOT

  • At 5.00, Brains Faggots!!

I still eat those today, they're yumsville!

  • I'm Dutch. I remember that as a child in the seventies my grandmother would put milk in an empty bottle of advocaat (there would alwayl be lots left on the sides of the bottle) shake it and give it to me to drink. It's really lovely.

  • So your granny wanted you to be a child alcoholic?!`

  • Ha ha ha, this was the seventies the era women still smoked while pregnant. And it takes a really long time to empty a bottle of advocaat if you only serve it at birthdays and to special guests. So it was a special occasian that occured perhaps once a year. Anyway I do remember it well and fondly and it has not made me abuse alcohol in anyway not even as a teenager in the eighties.

  • @MeneerRobinson

    Women today smoke while pregnant.

    Seems somethings never change.

  • @MeneerRobinson lovely!

I got advocaat and lemonade once a year on Hogmanay when I was a kid.

  • wow, sue. sexy!

  • 6:12 is a good look

  • This may sound werid but i once has a sex dream about sue

  • Giles <3

  • Just when I thought sue perkins couldn't be more attractive I see her with long hair :D

  • @Freemanstein I was thinking the exact same thing mate. She is an unconventional and unlikely Goddess!

  • @Freemanstein I simply cannot agree with this any more than I currently am

  • thank you sooo soo much,i missed the first season so im so happy i found this on youtube =) cheers x

  • giles is quite easy on the eye isn't he...mmmmm

  • i love her hair in this. she should grow it out.

  • sue really suits the 70s look!

  • Yeh, I like the long hair.

  • Can you post the 1950's episode? It was on Iplayer but not on any more.

    Thanks for this:)

  • wow, its pretty much HD quality aswell!! this just gets better and better

  • yeah but he is fit

  • new series starts on BBC 2 on 15 June 2009 at 9pm!!

  • Cheers thanks a lot. I love this show, and I hope they do another series. They could do, food from other countries. The supersizers go American, LOL.
