  • Marriage is a Civil Union but a Civil Union is not Marriage. Why two separate legal institutions? And why France is so behind? Look France is flanked by equal marriage to the north (Belgium) and to the south (Spain). Two francophone countries have same-sex marriage (Belgium & Québec). And even places like South-Africa, Portugal and Argentina have legalized equal marriage. I am very dissapointed at France, I thought it was a bastion of liberty and free thought. But I am hopeful it will be next.
