The cable probably wasnt HDMI certified e.g 1.3 cat 2 tested. hope HDbaseT comes in soon to get rid of all the pricing issues of HDMI. monoprice sell life time warranty good gauge HDMI for $4 so why the big difference in cost?
ah ha, its rigged ^^ it is blantently obvious that the first cable had been purposely chosen for this exact reason. it was probably an incredibly poorly made HDMI cable and no real person would have bought it anyway. an HDMI cable is an HDMI cable, the only difference is the shielding, length, and amount of gold put into it. every "good" HDMIT cable performs exactly the same, and you can get a perfect cable for under 10 bucks. . . if you paid over 50, you were scammed by "the man" lmfao!
@MonsterCableProducts i know as of 2009 the standard was 1.3, had to be 1080 certified, and there was something else. idk about the current standards. but i know that all cables produced during this time HAD to meet that standard. and if you bought a 'new' one, then it was not produced by a company that followed proper protocol and regulations, and could suffer severe penalties.
So if $30.00 is too much for a cable you must not care about your A/V system
its about build quality, most of those cheapo $5.00 cables are built poorly and will soon fall apart inside and that would be a waste of money... pony up and buy the good cable
I think I'll buy Monster...the best....that way...I will not have to change my cable on the future if I change my Tv for another with higher performance...
Monster NEVER drops the ball. There is a saying my Grandfather use to say (rip). "You get what you pay for." So go ahead and buy your $10 hdmi cable, then when you wonder why you never seen me hinding in that bush on C.O.D 5/6, and I shot you across the map, you'll be thinking "for about $160 I'd still be alive!"
What's the point in showing waveforms? The argument against these ridiculous cables isn't that they're precisely the same as any other cable. The argument is that the difference isn't reflected in the image quality.
Of course Monster cables can carry a cleaner wave than the cheap crap you can get out of China, but cables a tenth of the price of these Monster cables can carry waves clean enough for it to NOT MATTER to your HDMI transceiver.
If people want to waste their money on these cable let them!.. It's their money as long as their happy with it!.. I have one of these $100 4ft cable and a cheap $5 cable from ebay.. I can't tell the difference and I am using a 46in 1080p TV.. I don't think our eyes are good enough to tell the difference.. unless you use a computer!.. here is something to think about, monster cables are made in china!..

i just bought a monstercable and it was great but the cable has a problem it makes a little sound on the tv of 1080 and if i connect another cable it doesn´t sound that sound
Thank you for this vid. I'm so tired of el cheapos swearing that $6 mono price cable is the same as a Monster. It's simply not. If you're gonna pay the price for for high quality displays, audio systems and Blu Rays you have to compliment them with quality cabling or there is just no point.
It is possible to have hiccups in the video signal from variations of the data being sent due to electro-magnetic interference and radio-frequency interference, both of which would be better handled by higher quality Monster cables than cheaper, lower-quality cables. Monster cables also last longer due to superior build quality, as well as be, in many cases, future-proof due to forward-thinking design and features.
The argument goes like this: it may all be 1's and 0's, but what is being sent over that cable is electric current. When too much data is sent over a shabby cable, the device on the other end can't tell what is a 1 and what is a 0. The end result is video that is either jittery, full of digital snow, or flat-out not there.
What are you...blind? This video is proof that there is a difference. Your probably one of the ass wipes that buys a 52" Vizio for size and price...then tells your friends there is no difference between it and a Sony XBR6.
Monster ultra high speed cables make a difference on something that supports it, if u try the Sony Bravia Z series with a high quality blu ray player, and u send the signal over that at 1080p 120 hertz it is much better cuz it has a higher refresh rate, plus the monster cables are made with higher quality material, it will last longer but im not exactly sure if adding nitrogen helps though.

actualy when it falls down to how good it works if you buy a cable the only cost 10 bucks you going to have signal drops about 80% of the time
