  • A terrific video. The eyes do tend to deceive us at times. We live in a world that pushes thin is the desirable way to be and it does not account for all the ranges of body types & genetics. So thank you!

  • Thanks... I lost about 35 lbs =)

  • @rsbutz1 CONGRATULATIONS! That certainly explains it. Once your weight becomes stable at the end of your weight loss journey, you'll see your numbers cholesterol numbers improve even more. Don't sweat it.

  • hey jim,

iv been on the diet for about 5 months, 2 months ago i got a blood test and my HDl went down from 70 to about 51 and my LDL went up to 161. My Triglycerides went down to 79 however. I dont know what its about but im sticking with it, incorporating more veggies. Anything that i could have done wrong? or caused that?

  • @rsbutz1 You didn't say how much weight you've lost, but I'm assuming more than 20 pounds. If so, then this is a normal reaction and will stabilize once your weight stabilizes. Make sure you are eating plenty of fat, adequate amounts of protein, and low-carb. Higher fat will raise your HDL cholesterol above 50 and stay there and lower carbs will make sure your triglycerides are below 100. You've not done anything wrong and it sounds like you're numbers are great! LDL is irrelevant.

  • I can't find anything prior to episode 51.

  • THANKS Mark! Go to my YouTube dote come slash livinlowcarbman page and you'll see all my LLVLC on YouTube videos. :D

  • Hi Jimmy and Christine,

I was wondering if "y'all" could address issues of "plateaus", as although I am in the beginning phase of my weight loss, through low-carb, have you (or those whom you know) experienced these plateaus (i.e. you're losing weight, but then all of a sudden you stop doing so). This would be a good video, in my opinion.

  • THANKS Mark and we agree this would make for a GREAT video--because we already did it in Episode 12. Check it out sometime: j7QzJWqOMF0

  • After changing my diet my allergies went away, ibs completely gone, and GERD went away. I never get headaches anymore, acne cleared up etc etc.. so although I was thin before eating healthy, it shows that weight isnt everything. Im a bit freakishly thin now cos Of CR but still much healthier according to lots of tests i get done.

    Good video :)

  • THANKS for your comments, Matthew!

  • Jimmy you're spot on here, weight should be a by product of healthy eating from a goal of making yourself healthy. Extra fat doesn't mean you're unhealthy if you're adhering to a healthy diet. There are experimental mice called ob/ob mice which are huge, when they are put on a restricted diet diet they lose weight but are still fat, and they actually outlive the normal weight ad lib mice. I was thin before starting healthy cr diet, but had allergies GERD and IBS. This was at BMI of around 20.

  • How did we ever equate weight with health?

  • Im now in a problem , because I went back to low carb diet , but the results ,not very good , my weight is moving very slow , not like before , when I started the low cab

    Lifestyle

Why this is happening to me ? how can I increase my weight losing , shall I do more exercises , or shall I lower my food portion ,or both ?

Please help my im very disappointed

  • Hey there sanfoora81. I'd say neither up your exercise nor lower your food portions because neither will necessarily work for you. E-mail me at livinlowcarbman at charter dote net and let me see a sample menu of what you eat on your low-carb diet. I'm happy to help you work through this.

  • Yes, it´s not easy when the weight doesn ´t move. I´m lucky, because my weight never moved fast. I had time to learn to be patient.

With low carb i am loosing about 1 pound in two weeks. Believe it or not, with other diets I did loose far less! I was so hungry all the time and did loose nearly nothing. People think fat people have no discipline. they think that´s reason for being obese in the first place.

Wrong! It´s just a matter of right living - living low carb!

  • YOU GOT IT! I'm so proud of you. :)

  • Excellent videos, just gonna work my way thru them. Seem really well researched from what I have seen so far.

  • I do my best to maintain the accuracy of the information I provide in the videos. THANKS so much for watching! :)

  • I had my last meal yesterday Jimmy..I'm ready to jump back on track!

  • Your LAST "bad" meal? :D Cuz ya gotta eat, ya know? :)

  • lol yeah thats what I meant....:)

  • There's no starvin' on livin' la vida low-carb. :D

  • i know buddy :) now if I can only find the strength to get back to the gym!

  • Yes I was one of those people who wrote you. Lol. It took a week but the scale started moving again yesterday. It wasn't going to make me quit this lifestyle because I feel better than I have in a long time. I am now prepared for the next time it happens. Thanks for the video. I know that I am getting healthier no matter what the scales says.

  • You got it! And I wish more people would just push through the temporary struggles with the scale and realize they are on a path to AMAZING health eating low-carb.

  • Great reminder that low carb is about a better life all around. I'm struggling with getting the scale to move right now, but low carb has made a big difference in the overall quality of my life, mood and quality of sleep especially. That keeps me going; I'm sure weight will sort itself out as time goes on.

  • Any weight loss your body needs will come when you eat healthy. Hang in there!

  • Thanks for another great video, Jimmy and Christine! Christine, you are very talented! I love your artwork!

  • THANKS so much for watching. :D

  • WOW! Christine u are talented!

  • Yeppers, I AGREE! :)

  • the end with the arnold workout is so funny!

  • Thought some people might get a kick out of that! Especially since the song he's using in the background is "It's Raining Men!" LOL! :D

  • Gotta love the "skinny" fat people, nothing better then walking up a flight of stairs with one and watching them breathe hard

  • Yep! When you leave them in your dust, they wonder what kind of miracle drug you've been taking. It's called livin' la vida low-carb, baby!!!

  • THANKS so much for watching, Lissa! :D Christine really is talented. :)

  • Wow Christine! Nice drawings!! =) Thanks once again for your videos they are always helpful.
