@Humance: you mean vertical take off? if you take a look at the the video, on 0:25, you can notice a panel opening just behind the cockpit and also below. there's a thrust in that area too equal to the thrust of the main engine. and with bad ass computer aid. if its conventional take off that is what we call lift.
@Humance The engine is quite impressive it consists of a 3-stage fan, a 6-stage compressor, an annular combustor, a single stage high-pressure turbine, and a 2 stage low-pressure turbine for true stabilization. the opennings you see in the center is the lift fan which increases air flow and stability along with the vectoring nozzle which gives it power to hover at impressive hieghts :)
@MultiRenegade6 You are either misinformed, or delusional. The F35 is not part of the Harrier series of jets; they are both STOVL, but that is the only thing they share. In fact, the F35 is designed to be a multipurpose replacement for the Harrier... where, might I ask, you get your information?

Why the fuck are people hating on a plane?? It can blow your ass up any day... And this is just the marine version of the jsf... There js still a navy and air force one all with different features and capabilities so dont hate
To bee honest. Prob the best plane in the world but it cost a fortune. Why dont u put some money in wealth ore something so u guys dont need to pay thousands of dollars just to reapair a broken arm?
Your the one underestimating Lockheed Martin's fighters. The same firm the produced the SR71 blackbird (the worlds fastest jet airplane) in the 1950's. You're underestimating the worlds premier fighter. A fighter only allowed to be used by the US. The country that invented nuclear technologies, airplanes and the internet on which you were able to submit your incorrect comments about the t-50 pak-fa and the F-22.
@DaiwaYamato88 The t-50 pak-fa prototype is an obvious copy of the F-22 platform. Its maiden voyage was in late January of 2010. The plane is over a decade newer than an f22 which had its maiden voyage in 1997. The t-50 pak-fa will not be available for purchase by a national military until 2015-2017. It is merely an attempt to play catch up to the dominant fighter, the F22. Also, Its stats which are still in question do not outperform the F22 in any capacity.
Will people shut the fuck up about which plane is better debates! 1) none of them have faced each other in combat, 2) they all cost radically different amounts! Capability for price
@thetrialshot the fact that msnbc reported it is bs they all the media like msnbc and abc make shit up like the bush was a shitty pilot paper that turned out to be forged. Anything against defense or war is trashed on their show I have relatives in the air force one of which is training to work on f22 and that's all bs besides the f22 has a replacement program for 2020. Where the fuck are you from so fucking perfect huh
@livecave144 idiot. the F22 is so fucking amazing, people just want to put it down. In Fact the F22 is SO amazing that its *AMERICAN DOLLAR HURR DURRR* Price is too High for ANY Country to Afford and They made *HURDURRRRRRRRRR* The HURDUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUR F35 to Replace it.*(Also Being the result of the Joint Strike Fighter Program.)
@thetrialshot Lol, where did you learn those bullshit statistics, the f-22 can fight 1 against any other 16 fighter in the world and emerge 100% victorious. Don't believe me, let's see 16 of your shitty nation's duct taped fighter aircraft against one of our F-22s, and I will be laughing as all of your nations aircraft get shot down. The best part is you will never see it comming, swift, and silent death . And if you are trash talking the United States, get off the Internet, we invented that too
@thetrialshot The F22 is superior to the F35/JSF in all air to air fighter engagement scenarios. Armor is of minimal concern to operator survivability, as only 2 of the 62 SFTI ACM/evade Lines for the F22 involve cannon fire. The F22 CAN communicate with other fighters, as per TRW IFF. Put simply the F22 is faster, more agile and powerful than not only the F35 but every fighter in the world
Why does the military want to buy F35s then? The same reason policemen drive Fords instead of Ferraris...
@WoahSalmo Thank you I gave up on these kids hating on our aircraft isn't the fact than no other air force has beaten us enough for them to understand we invest more in ours. Leat you made some sence
@livecave144 I do not mean to advocate any side of this argument. Many American Air Wings have been 'beaten' throughout history. The attack on Pearl Harbor is a notable example of America facing superior enemy aircraft.
Past failures have allowed us to analyze tactical weaknesses that lead to enhanced future designs. The United States Armed Forces has become the single most powerful military force on the planet, and we work hard to keep it that way.
@WoahSalmo Yea I now what your saying and I'm using mobile so excuse my spelling but we have faced far more experienced adversaries imperial navy and the Germans and still came out on top these people on videos like this always argue the USAF is useless you may not be advocating for a side but the information you gave dose
@NiamOfAsuras The Berkut is an experimental one-off aircraft, far from anything combat capable. It does not outclass the Raptor in onboard armament, as it does not HAVE an armament...
Any of the Berkuts performance specifications are statistics released by Russian media outlets, and baselines calculated by computer simulation, NOT combat proven observation.
@NiamOfAsuras Except only 1 SU-47 was ever built before the project was scrapped in favor of the SU-37 and PAK FA. Also aircraft like the Eurofighter, F-22 and F-35 are constantly being upgraded.
@GunsOfThePhoenix So are the russian Sukhoi and Mikoyan Gurevich fighter lines. The thing is, except for theoretical simulation, nobody knows how good those aircrafts are up against each other, because there haven't been any equal sided engagements between the two.
So any statements referring to F-22 beeing better, or the Sukhoi planes beeing the best, w/e, are all based on theoretical simulations.
@GunsOfThePhoenix And of course, It would depend on other factors as well, should they come in a brawl. Pilot training, weather, ground crews, all of it factor into if the plane is a winner or not.
@thetrialshot Haha that's your evidence msnbc theyr the fox of fucking democrats the f22 did get cut because it's old and useless yet it's better than any shit anyone else has it's first prototype was put in 1990 china and Russia barely came out with a prototype this year
@thetrialshot First off a treaty was signed to end Vietnaim left N. + South Korea divided, a year after the US left Vietnaim, North Vietnaim quickly invaded and broke the treaty, uniting vietnaim. and it wasnt even a real war. Korea was a UN-ivolved war, in which the Allies (90% United States Troops) managed to push back Vastly outnumbering Communist forces, and the commies pleaded for a cease fire. Third, all we did is bomb targets +send in a Peace keeping force to stop a genocide in Serbia.
LOL you said "US left Vietnaim, North Vietnaim quickly invaded and broke the treaty, uniting vietnaim. and it wasnt even a real war." WTF? are you serious? Its not even a real war? WTF? yeah its not a "Real War" considering 65,000 american lost their lives and 2million N.Viets died lol, when you pushed back N.Koreans out of S.korea you didnt even take even an inch to north because Chinese outnumbered you, you really fail at serbia about bringing "PEACE"
@thetrialshot It was to try and stop communism because communism is gayy the us dose anything I can to stop communism if we went to full war in Korea china would be much less populated the treaty stoped the fighting it's a ceasefire
@thetrialshot Yea we do look at Korea theyr doing so bad in the south I probably couldn't stand a powerful economy and thriving industry I'd rather be in the north where I'd be able to loose all my stupid freedoms and eat little or nothing at all yeea communism ftw :D
@thetrialshot vietnam war was not a real war, we havent had a real war since ww2 when congress declared war on germany and japan. because in order for us to truly be at war with a country congress has to declare war and appoint a 5 star general(general of the armies), but congress hasnt declared war in since ww2 (which was over 65 yrs ago) which means all we've been in since ww2 is conflicts not wars.(:
J20 does not beat an f-35 power to weight. My dads the director on that program I think I know this. Its all touch screen and the technology is awesome
@thetrialshot It's not better in any way the chinese just chramed out a cheap ass fighter the f22 had its first prototype 21 years ago do you honestly think it's tech is mached by a Chinese made j20 maybe it can take on an f35 if it sneaks up on a pilot who fell asleep
In the dutch we have a saying, " het leger moet leger" wich means, the army must be gone. We shouldhave peace. I don't care, i'm gonna join the airforce!!
Also, Italy, Germany, Austria, Saudi Arabia, and Spain have Eurofighter Typhoons. If the US government wanted to deploy this fighter it would buy them. They have not because the US has jets that are far superior that are not distributed to other countries in order to retain supremacy.
excuse me but us brits have already dominated your precious f-22 in a dog fight: there were two eurofighters flying over american territory, the f-22 is not supposed to be detectable on radar, but the two eurofighters detected ur stoopid fighters and challenged them to a game of lock on, and you pussies refused, so the next day the brits did the same thing but this time you accepted, and we had two games of lock on and guess whattt, the eurofighters won both of them SILENCED.
@MrLiljj122 First off the whole world is trying to get the us to sell them the f22 and the Brits are first inmline to get f35s ihe never heard of this incident ur talking about but either way ite irrelevant the Brits are our best allies u sound like a stupid ass going around saying shit like this besides f22 have engines that produce less heat so even if u lock on an f22 ur missile will not hit and radar missiles are worthless u would need ur gun and f22 has vectoring thrust
@livecave144 You've got to learn the truth about your beloved F-22 and F-35. Thrust vectoring is completely useless in air-to-air combat. The F-35 has the EO DAS system which is nice, but in preliminary war game reports, the F-35 fared worse than 4th gen fighters.
The F-15 has a 100+ to 0 win-to-loss air superiority record, costs $70-120 million less than the other two and should be improved internally, not retired. It's singly the best air superiority fighter in the world right now.
@nexus1g ok here's whet turned up from what I no the f200 was in visual contact with the f22 which can never happen because the f22 has top radar. radar heat missiles will never lock f22 pilots have been nown to slack and dick around in these exercises the f2000 is amazing but would have to be lucky by sneaking up on an f22 and gunning it down impossible and the f22 can simply shoot down an f 2000 and it will never now where from missile evasion and luck are the only things on f2000s side
@nexus1g not quite pal. The f-15 is about as stealthy as throwing a refrigerator the size of a house in the sky and trying to sneak it by radar. The f-22 can be within machine gun range of a jet before it ever gets detected which can make a world of difference in air to air combat. The f-22 can also make a sharp turn around in 1/5 the time and 1/5 the distance of an f-15 meaning the f-22 can get behind a target much easier. plus the f-22 is faster at lower altitudes. All the same with the f-35
@KingofAces2895 The F-22 also slows down significantly when making such sharp turns making it, relatively, a sitting duck. The F-35 does not have thrust vectoring like an F-22 so not all you stated applied to the F-35. The F-35 can only vector its thrust downward for short take-offs and vertical landings. Furthermore, the shape- and coating-based is only effective against monostatic radar systems and is negated as soon as active radar is enabled for weapons systems.
@nexus1g slowing down is part of being supermanuverable. And yes the f-35A and f-35C are supermanuverable because they also feature thrust vectoring without the lift fan. That it hasnt been confirmed yet is a whole different story but super manuverability has become standard in fifth gen fighters. Whatever jet your in already got shot down by an sidewinder before it ever had a chance to activate weapons radar. But your right the f-15 is still one of the greatest jets ever made.
@KingofAces2895 None of the the F-35's are supermaneuverable. The F-35A doesn't even have thrust vectoring for STOVL (it's CTOL). Lockheeed Martin maintains the position that maneuverability is a moot point with advanced WCS.
You misunderstood what I said. It's not the opposing aircraft turning on its active radar that renders the F-35's stealthiness ineffective, it's the F-35 pilot turning on active radar systems that render the stealthiness ineffective.
@KingofAces2895 That means that as soon as the F-35 pilot turns on his active radar systems to lock onto targets, it's as susceptible to attack as any other non-stealthy aircraft.
@nexus1g the f-35 is not meant for air-to-air combat. it's meant for ground attack, recon, and air defense missions and right now it's used as a training aircraft and is still in initial production. the f-22 has the same air superiority as the f-15 plus ground attack, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence. the only thing the f-15 has that the others don't is that it can fly in any weather.
@timfz2 The F-35 is meant for air-to-air combat, but it is not an air superiority fighter. The F-22 project is canceled. The F-15 is retiring soon. Multirole fighters and a handful of F-22's is what we'll be left with.
@livecave144 canada might also be in first line to get a few of thise like 60 F-35's to replace our aging F-18's thats if stephen harper has the green light for the 60 F-35's
@MrLiljj122 yeah right the F-22's probably had a radar beacon on them so the control tower didnt lose them during a training exercise plus as soon as the F-22's computer detected lock-on it would send out a jamming wave to shut down the enemy radar so in short my British friend you need to make sure you can back up your big ass ego
We all know they are crap, even americans know it. A lot of American people want F-15SE than the F-35 Pigeon.
Whatch this video I made:
/watch?v=nxeU2oK-KRk
IRST man, I bet the Eurofighter detected those F22s with the PIRATE. It is very sensitive to change in temperature at long range. And every aircraft creates air friction, that creates heat on the skin of the aircraft!
excuse me but us brits have already dominated your precious f-22 in a dog fight: there were two eurofighters flying over american territory, the f-22 is not supposed to be detectable on radar, but the two eurofighters detected ur stoopid fighters and challenged them to a game of lock on, and you pussies refused, so the next day the brits did the same thing but this time you accepted, and we had two games of lock on and guess whattt, the eurofighters won both of them SILENCED.
@MrLiljj122 Eurofighter typhoons can't down f22, f35s. Sorry. You're lucky your allies with America. We had the blackbird in the 50s and the nuke in the 40s. We reached the moon first, and hold all the air speed records with both jets and rockets. The American Wright brothers invented the first airplane. The first wireless transmitters were invented in the USA. The microchip was invented in the USA.. Oh yeah, and so was the internet and the Youtube forum on which you made your incorrect comment
@DrewOC45 Richard Pearce from New Zealand achieved powered flight before the Wright brothers he just didn't have the media of the Americans to publicise it. Oh and New Zealander Ernest Rutherford split the atom which lead to your nuke. Actually a new zealander was the head of NASA's jet propulsion lab too when the moon landing programme was underway..... You Americans are lucky your New Zealands Allie
@MrLiljj122 This is the incident you are refering to by the way. "In 2005, a trainer Eurofighter T1 was reported to have had a chance encounter the previous year with two U.S. Air Force F-15Es over the Lake District in the north of England. The encounter became a mock dogfight with the Eurofighter allegedly emerging "victorious". It faced the outdated yet effective F-15 which was designed in the 60s, not the f22 or f35. There is no fighter capable of beating a F22 or F35.
@DrewOC45 I did some research and found only info about it in forums so I really don't now what to trust the only credible info claimed the the f 22 did go against the f2000 but only in close contact simulation and also that the f 22 never went again the f2000 but I'm still looking for info where did u get yours?
An Eurofighter might be able to take a F35. The F35 is designed as a multi-role plane and while it is an exceptional air combat plane, it isn't designed with just aerial combat in mind. All things considered equal the F35 could easily take a Eurofighter if it was equipped for an air-superiority/ air-based escort mission. If it were equipped to go blow up a building chances are the Eurofighter would take it. Both are good but it would come down to a lot of circumstantial factors.
@thetrialshot no they can't us pilots have always been proven to be better than russians and with now better aircraft we win any day plus Russia is broke they'd be able to produce a couple dozen more with difficulty haha
@DrewOC45 bullshit yes there is, you know why? because they are unfinished products. when they come out the f22 will most likely untoucheable by any other aircraft, but the f35 is likely to be beaten in dogfights with later generation dedicated fighter aircraft.
HOWEVER: the f22 will have very little actual use. its short flight range, low ammunition capability and restriction to anti air roles make it extremely innefective when compare to the f35 and even older older models like the f16
@livecave144 one of the largest design decisions of the F22 is stealth and air superiority. YES it can perform ground attack roles, but why bother when the f35 and similar are both more effective and cheaper at this function. yes it does have reason to be deployed as a ground attack craft when threatening enemy air contact likeliness or the need for stealth (above that of the f35) is high but this is a very expensive solution to those problems
@dgabbless "restriction to anti air roles" The F-22 will carry the SDB II by the time the F-35 is in service and will have an air to ground (antivehicle) capability 30% better than the monsterous flankers. That's with an internal weapons load too.
I dare someone to run across that asphalt that the f35 was hovering over.

DrewOC45 8 months ago
@DaiwaYamato88 The t-50 pak-fa prototype is an obvious copy of the F-22 platform. Its maiden voyage was in late January of 2010. The plane is over a decade newer than an f22 which had its maiden voyage in 1997. The t-50 pak-fa will not be available for purchase by a national military until 2015-2017. It is merely an attempt to play catch up to the dominant fighter, the F22. Also, Its stats which are still in question do not outperform the F22 in any capacity.

Fake 22 Craptor Beautiful Characteristics:
1 Hour it flies > 30 hours maintenance
1 Critical Failure every 1.7hour it flies
It's "SUPER HIGHTECH SKIN" is Vulnerable to rain
Can't communicate with other US Aircraft in the air (Might come in handy LOL)
Its armor is so light it cant even withstand with small arms fire (more likely its armor is like a paper)
and US want to produce more of them to sell it to other countries with $356,000,000 PER PLANE? Are you kidding me? LOL

Where the fuck are you from so fucking perfect huh

bouttobreak12 8 months ago
@thetrialshot Lol, where did you learn those bullshit statistics, the f-22 can fight 1 against any other 16 fighter in the world and emerge 100% victorious. Don't believe me, let's see 16 of your shitty nation's duct taped fighter aircraft against one of our F-22s, and I will be laughing as all of your nations aircraft get shot down. The best part is you will never see it comming, swift, and silent death . And if you are trash talking the United States, get off the Internet, we invented that too

thetrialshot 9 months ago
@thetrialshot The F22 is superior to the F35/JSF in all air to air fighter engagement scenarios. Armor is of minimal concern to operator survivability, as only 2 of the 62 SFTI ACM/evade Lines for the F22 involve cannon fire. The F22 CAN communicate with other fighters, as per TRW IFF. Put simply the F22 is faster, more agile and powerful than not only the F35 but every fighter in the world
Why does the military want to buy F35s then? The same reason policemen drive Fords instead of Ferraris...
WoahSalmo 7 months ago
@WoahSalmo Thank you I gave up on these kids hating on our aircraft isn't the fact than no other air force has beaten us enough for them to understand we invest more in ours. Leat you made some sence
livecave144 7 months ago
@livecave144 I do not mean to advocate any side of this argument. Many American Air Wings have been 'beaten' throughout history. The attack on Pearl Harbor is a notable example of America facing superior enemy aircraft.
Past failures have allowed us to analyze tactical weaknesses that lead to enhanced future designs. The United States Armed Forces has become the single most powerful military force on the planet, and we work hard to keep it that way.
And please...use spellcheck, all of you.
WoahSalmo 7 months ago
@WoahSalmo Yea I now what your saying and I'm using mobile so excuse my spelling but we have faced far more experienced adversaries imperial navy and the Germans and still came out on top these people on videos like this always argue the USAF is useless you may not be advocating for a side but the information you gave dose
livecave144 7 months ago
@WoahSalmo plus the f-35 is better at using air to ground missiles
duffmann3 7 months ago
@WoahSalmo Actually, the F22 is outclassed in terms of agility by its russian counterpart, the SU-47 Berkut, in range, speed, armament and agility.
NiamOfAsuras 6 months ago
@NiamOfAsuras The Berkut is an experimental one-off aircraft, far from anything combat capable. It does not outclass the Raptor in onboard armament, as it does not HAVE an armament...
Any of the Berkuts performance specifications are statistics released by Russian media outlets, and baselines calculated by computer simulation, NOT combat proven observation.
WoahSalmo 6 months ago
@NiamOfAsuras Except only 1 SU-47 was ever built before the project was scrapped in favor of the SU-37 and PAK FA. Also aircraft like the Eurofighter, F-22 and F-35 are constantly being upgraded.
GunsOfThePhoenix 6 months ago
@GunsOfThePhoenix So are the russian Sukhoi and Mikoyan Gurevich fighter lines. The thing is, except for theoretical simulation, nobody knows how good those aircrafts are up against each other, because there haven't been any equal sided engagements between the two.
So any statements referring to F-22 beeing better, or the Sukhoi planes beeing the best, w/e, are all based on theoretical simulations.
NiamOfAsuras 6 months ago
@NiamOfAsuras Correct, neither of these planes have actually fought each other in combat so no one will ever know for sure.
GunsOfThePhoenix 6 months ago
@GunsOfThePhoenix And of course, It would depend on other factors as well, should they come in a brawl. Pilot training, weather, ground crews, all of it factor into if the plane is a winner or not.

Also, Italy, Germany, Austria, Saudi Arabia, and Spain have Eurofighter Typhoons. If the US government wanted to deploy this fighter it would buy them. They have not because the US has jets that are far superior that are not distributed to other countries in order to retain supremacy.
DrewOC45 11 months ago 2
excuse me but us brits have already dominated your precious f-22 in a dog fight: there were two eurofighters flying over american territory, the f-22 is not supposed to be detectable on radar, but the two eurofighters detected ur stoopid fighters and challenged them to a game of lock on, and you pussies refused, so the next day the brits did the same thing but this time you accepted, and we had two games of lock on and guess whattt, the eurofighters won both of them SILENCED.
MrLiljj122 11 months ago
@MrLiljj122 First off the whole world is trying to get the us to sell them the f22 and the Brits are first inmline to get f35s ihe never heard of this incident ur talking about but either way ite irrelevant the Brits are our best allies u sound like a stupid ass going around saying shit like this besides f22 have engines that produce less heat so even if u lock on an f22 ur missile will not hit and radar missiles are worthless u would need ur gun and f22 has vectoring thrust
livecave144 11 months ago 11
@livecave144 You've got to learn the truth about your beloved F-22 and F-35. Thrust vectoring is completely useless in air-to-air combat. The F-35 has the EO DAS system which is nice, but in preliminary war game reports, the F-35 fared worse than 4th gen fighters.
The F-15 has a 100+ to 0 win-to-loss air superiority record, costs $70-120 million less than the other two and should be improved internally, not retired. It's singly the best air superiority fighter in the world right now.
nexus1g 10 months ago 3
@nexus1g ok here's whet turned up from what I no the f200 was in visual contact with the f22 which can never happen because the f22 has top radar. radar heat missiles will never lock f22 pilots have been nown to slack and dick around in these exercises the f2000 is amazing but would have to be lucky by sneaking up on an f22 and gunning it down impossible and the f22 can simply shoot down an f 2000 and it will never now where from missile evasion and luck are the only things on f2000s side
livecave144 10 months ago
@nexus1g not quite pal. The f-15 is about as stealthy as throwing a refrigerator the size of a house in the sky and trying to sneak it by radar. The f-22 can be within machine gun range of a jet before it ever gets detected which can make a world of difference in air to air combat. The f-22 can also make a sharp turn around in 1/5 the time and 1/5 the distance of an f-15 meaning the f-22 can get behind a target much easier. plus the f-22 is faster at lower altitudes. All the same with the f-35
KingofAces2895 5 months ago
@KingofAces2895 The F-22 also slows down significantly when making such sharp turns making it, relatively, a sitting duck. The F-35 does not have thrust vectoring like an F-22 so not all you stated applied to the F-35. The F-35 can only vector its thrust downward for short take-offs and vertical landings. Furthermore, the shape- and coating-based is only effective against monostatic radar systems and is negated as soon as active radar is enabled for weapons systems.
nexus1g 5 months ago
@nexus1g slowing down is part of being supermanuverable. And yes the f-35A and f-35C are supermanuverable because they also feature thrust vectoring without the lift fan. That it hasnt been confirmed yet is a whole different story but super manuverability has become standard in fifth gen fighters. Whatever jet your in already got shot down by an sidewinder before it ever had a chance to activate weapons radar. But your right the f-15 is still one of the greatest jets ever made.
KingofAces2895 5 months ago
@KingofAces2895 None of the the F-35's are supermaneuverable. The F-35A doesn't even have thrust vectoring for STOVL (it's CTOL). Lockheeed Martin maintains the position that maneuverability is a moot point with advanced WCS.
You misunderstood what I said. It's not the opposing aircraft turning on its active radar that renders the F-35's stealthiness ineffective, it's the F-35 pilot turning on active radar systems that render the stealthiness ineffective.
nexus1g 5 months ago
@KingofAces2895 That means that as soon as the F-35 pilot turns on his active radar systems to lock onto targets, it's as susceptible to attack as any other non-stealthy aircraft.
nexus1g 5 months ago
@nexus1g the f-35 is not meant for air-to-air combat. it's meant for ground attack, recon, and air defense missions and right now it's used as a training aircraft and is still in initial production. the f-22 has the same air superiority as the f-15 plus ground attack, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence. the only thing the f-15 has that the others don't is that it can fly in any weather.
timfz2 5 months ago
@timfz2 The F-35 is meant for air-to-air combat, but it is not an air superiority fighter. The F-22 project is canceled. The F-15 is retiring soon. Multirole fighters and a handful of F-22's is what we'll be left with.
nexus1g 5 months ago
@livecave144 canada might also be in first line to get a few of thise like 60 F-35's to replace our aging F-18's thats if stephen harper has the green light for the 60 F-35's
demonhorse103 7 months ago
@MrLiljj122 yeah right the F-22's probably had a radar beacon on them so the control tower didnt lose them during a training exercise plus as soon as the F-22's computer detected lock-on it would send out a jamming wave to shut down the enemy radar so in short my British friend you need to make sure you can back up your big ass ego

DrewOC45 11 months ago 3

DrewOC45 11 months ago 22
@DrewOC45 I did some research and found only info about it in forums so I really don't now what to trust the only credible info claimed the the f 22 did go against the f2000 but only in close contact simulation and also that the f 22 never went again the f2000 but I'm still looking for info where did u get yours?
livecave144 11 months ago
@livecave144 Info on the encounter can be found on the typhoon wiki. The link is currently reference #140 in the citations
DrewOC45 11 months ago
@DrewOC45

OlderG0ds 10 months ago
@DrewOC45 bullshit yes there is, you know why? because they are unfinished products. when they come out the f22 will most likely untoucheable by any other aircraft, but the f35 is likely to be beaten in dogfights with later generation dedicated fighter aircraft.
HOWEVER: the f22 will have very little actual use. its short flight range, low ammunition capability and restriction to anti air roles make it extremely innefective when compare to the f35 and even older older models like the f16
dgabbless 8 months ago
@dgabbless Tye f22 isn't restricted to air it has options of having external weaponry
livecave144 8 months ago
@livecave144 got a source on external weaponry? everything i've read indicates it will be internal bays only
dgabbless 8 months ago
@dgabbless no, wing and belly mounted extras
101andrewj 8 months ago
@livecave144 one of the largest design decisions of the F22 is stealth and air superiority. YES it can perform ground attack roles, but why bother when the f35 and similar are both more effective and cheaper at this function. yes it does have reason to be deployed as a ground attack craft when threatening enemy air contact likeliness or the need for stealth (above that of the f35) is high but this is a very expensive solution to those problems
dgabbless 8 months ago
@dgabbless "restriction to anti air roles" The F-22 will carry the SDB II by the time the F-35 is in service and will have an air to ground (antivehicle) capability 30% better than the monsterous flankers. That's with an internal weapons load too.
