  • awesome.

  • phew this stinks

  • me encanta esta version!

  • great !! bowie in back up singer

  • I gazed a gazely stare...Nirvana came on radio and I put the vynyl on simo and switched back and forth...my 22 year old Philly roommate was like - how you dune dat?

  • love the sleazy bowie sax ... bowie / ronson were a great production team too and this is just as inventive as anything they did with lou or iggy. top ten hit...watch that man on the B-side. not widely known in the states but LULU was a tour de force blues / soul shouter when she was coming up .... rumour has it a brief affair insued.

  • the song is so awesome! and with lulu! oh my god! LULUUU WE LOVE YOUUUU!!!

and we loooove this awesome song!

  • Rolled Velvet !! LULU did a good job , but the man himself was at the controls , one of Bowie's best .

  • I have heard both versions , Bowie wrote it and also sang on and Produced Lulu's version , I would not really call it a cover in real terms as Bowie was so involved with it . I like both versions. anyway

  • all so called divas read and weep.

  • This was, again, clever thinking by Bowie. By giving it to Lulu, a well known and popular mainstream artiste, he knew that this song would reached a wider audience and thereby give him even more recognition.

  • @MrPapaBill You think Bowie needed recognition more than Lulu??????

  • Here she looks kind of like Julie Andrews in Victor Victoria..

  • bolesno preseravanje

  • slaughtered

  • Mon The Scots

  • Yep wer'e everywhere imalovedrunk lol

+ yi canny whack em the Salt o the earth

Great Share wee man lol lol!!! ta muchy

  • Great track ...two amazing artists.

  • Bowie produced this for Lulu.

  • i don't like her version at all, but of historical importance i guess for the bowie canon

  • ugh.....bowie and cobain both did this FAR better!

  • Duh Bowie didn't have a problem with her version of it. He produced it and listen is that the man himself on vocal harmonies

  • duh i don't care whether or not bowie had "a problem with her version of it". i think it's horrible. get over it

  • Duh, well what you think of it is no doubt more important to the world than what David Bowie thinks of it...

That's likely to be him playing sax too.

(P.S. I only started with 'duh' 'cos it seems to be in fashion at the moment.)

  • again. i do not care what bowie, nor madamearies, or even knobstick thinks of this version. i love just about everything that bowie does. i think this version of the man who sold the world sucks. do try to get over it people. i know it breaks your hearts to know someone isn't impressed with "lulu". (it must be a british thing)

  • It doesn't really worry me at all what you think of it, our impact upon each others lives is pretty minimal. I like it and that's enough for me.

  • so what was all your whinning about? i'm sooooo glad you like it. hopefully now, you'll not mind if i don't.

  • Whinning? Is that really a word? I already didn't mind if you don't like it. I wonder how long we can stretch this pointless conversation out...

  • @MADAMEARIES I am glad someone agrees with me

  • @fixedgearplanet, this is a Bowie song, Bowie produced the lulu version and also played on it with Ronson. cobain with his band only did a cover of the Bowie original, and may a say a very bad one to !!

  • @norcicoso i'm very well aware that this is a bowie song. i only heard it for the first time over thirty years ago. actually cobains version is far better than this

  • @fixedgearplanet 30 years ago ? so did i LOL i respect the nirvana rendition for the tribute they pay to Bowie, but as i said i don't like it very much.

  • @norcicoso You seriously think this version is better than Nirvanas? I prefer the original over both, but this is really, really bad.

  • @DerpForce yes i prefer the Lulu cover to that of Nirvana, but like you i prefer the original ;)

  • Gtreat post! I had such a boner for her back then. She is still gorgeous.

  • Superb post.... where did you find this? ACE!

  • Nirvana did OK, but this song was written to be sung by an adrogenous being, or at least woman in man's clothing or a man in woman's clothing.

  • Damn fine song no matter who sings it.

  • Great song, great version from a true star.

  • Great song. Thanks.
