It's not even close to similar in my ear...Trevor Jones' theme is much more sweeping and classically orchestrated. Jablonsky is from the Hans Zimmer school, and I think his style has that modern "pop"soundtrack style that are very common in movies these days.

Well, considering this mini-series was made almost 10 years before the new Transformers movies, I would guess it's the other way around. And Jablonsky really sounds nothing like Trevor Jones.

I'm not familiar with too many other fantasy, B-rate movies like these two. If you like movies about the Celtic peoples, you might try "Kidnapped" with Armand Assante. "The Wind that Shakes the Barley" with Cillian Murphy is another good one about the partitioning of Ireland in 1921, though it has a lot of language.

This came out when I was eight, in 1998, and it's always stayed with me, partially because we taped it off back when we all had VCR's. Got the DVD a year or two ago. Remember watching it on NBC and Dad telling me what the elves and dragons and fairies were.

I was listening to the Dark Knight soundtrack all day (Hans Zimmer of course, who else?) and suddenly thought HEY WHAT ABOUT THE MERLIN SOUNDTRACK! Takes a lot to impress me in the soundtrack field, but Trevor Jones has done it with this movie. Amazing, and when I watch this paired with Merlins and Nimue's transformations I always break into tears.

Thank you for uploading this! I used to listen to the audio clips from the Amazon page to buy the soundtrack, but that no longer works - I'm really glad I can listen to this! I would put the CD on my Christmas list, but I know I can't wait that long, heh - I absolutely LOVE this soundtrack. I have Trevor Jones' OST for The Dark Crystal, another film I love, but that pales in comparison to this one. The music is as magical as any of the enchantments found in the film.

The soundtrack is out of print, but can be found on the various auction sites for not too bad of a price. The movie is pretty cheap here on VHS, but can also be bought on DVD.

I think I saw the DVD in a shop a couple of years ago but haven't seen it since, though I found a copy at home yesterday which came free in a newspaper. It's a shame it's out of print :.(
