It is unbelievable how people talking and commenting about a 12 yrs old's drumming skills. Talking bullshit about complexity (her playing is way too complex for her age), dynamics (she plays a full size kit that is physically hard if you think about her height), musicality (swing feel in a straight time song? that isn't very clever, is it!) LoL! I am really interested now how was your drumming when you were the same age. If you guys have any videos, don't hesitate to upload it!

I was just expecting jazz drumming from a jazz tune. I was also hoping for a little bit of a latin groove considering how this chart is traditionally played. I know she has rock chops but some jazz study could really bring out a lot more personality. She could really shape the rhythm with a good ability to place articulation. For the most part, I think it's the recording that's holding her back. She needs to find a group of good musicians to play with :P.

ok ok, i know i'm gonna get a lot of crap for this. so i'm prefacing this now with the comment that she is a lot better at drum set than i probably will ever be. however, that's not jazz drumming. She has great rock chops but I would actually really like to hear how she would hold up in a jazz combo. If she develops an awesome ear for jazz she could really become a truly incredible and versatile drummer. I'm anxious to hear her sound develop.

@johnpetrucci87 ur comment is indeed a valid one. but i think most young musicians would start of with rock, mainly cause its easier to grasp when your younger. im a drummer and im getting cold sweat watching her do this at her age. if your nickname lives up to its owner, i would love to have a jamm session with you.

@KoryWB Don't really know joey jordison but you can't instantly say she's better than travis barker. I'm not a fan of travis barker but he did begin set drumming in jazz then moved to punk. And punk has a much more simple rhythm pattern than jazz. Travis did say though that he would like to retire while drumming jazz. So he does understand that jazz drumming is one of the most complex. So as long as he understands his roots i'm happy for him.
