The band is in 3/4. The drumline's downbeats are on the band's quarter note triplets, so they're playing like a 4/6 (correct me if I'm wrong), so technically, it fits! You can hear how they fit if you snap your fingers to the 2 time signatures at the same time. It's pretty easy.

The drum feature did not really fit in well....it was very well executed but it just didn't feel right when the snares started and when the quads added in.
i agree, and BD has a trend toward just showing off their technique, not playing music art. i'm not saying thats totally bad, but i want them to play music using their good skill.

no, i hated the bd's 05 show... and i love the blue devils, just like i hate PR's 06' show and i have no idea how they scored higher then BD, how you go from 8th to 2nd in one round is beyond my... i couldnt care less about the dci judges
narration is fine in short blurbs (ala Godfather) or for ACTUAL innovation (cadets voiced drum break 05)... cadets 07 wouldve been great if it wasnt just nonstop talking.. it ok and bearable... this year wth were the cadets doing
i thought this show was awesome. very musical. and scott dean just rocked the house the whole way through!deserved more than just fourth. thats my opinion

This was the only year BD used narraration, they haven't used it before or scince. I guess they decided it wouldn't work.
