i am southern, born and raised. i love the south. but, i do realize that we lost the civil war. and don't hate me, but it had to go down that way. the english were going to storm down from canada if the south had won, as there wasn't a lot of industry, nor much of an infrastructure left. but things weren't perfect in the old south. and i am not for fighting the civil war all over again. it is over. i love the south, but come on.

I've seen that map at the 19 mark,or at least something like it.Its a census map that shows who we claim as our ancestors. While most of the country claimed German, Dutch ect.ect.the people in the south said their ancestors were American. It goes to show just how differantly southerns view things from the rest of the country. The map at 23 proves that point as well with the high number of Babtist. I live in the United Kingdom, and England (a part of the United Kingdom, just like Texas is a part of America for example), has a cultural identity dating back to around the 1100s, yet English people, despite showing their English pride in their lives, are still very proud to be united in a single nation called the United Kingdom.

Indeed we are. I would never encourage division among ourselves. We have a proud heritage of standing together and I will not be the first to tarnish it. However, it is not 1860. There are still political options open here. Secession isn't legal untill all possible political avenues have been exploited. The colonists knew that, and so did our fathers in 1860. It would be an injustice to them to change that now.
