  • "Ehh Peter - Uhm, were going.....Peter

  • I was about to watch this movie, but then I saw the trailer. Ummmm....I'll pass.

  • @xanthoxylaceae The trailer is shit. But the movie is spectacular, please don't let a shitty trailer keep you from watching such a good movie.

  • @MrBadassAssin Do they focus more on MJ and Humboldt culture? I don't want to get stuck watching a love story, or a romantic comedy. ;-/

  • @xanthoxylaceae It's all about the culture and the weed. The love portion ends very quickly, don't worry.

  • @MrBadassAssin i'll give it a go...

I think I would want to watch it high also!

  • @xanthoxylaceae There's another way to watch it besides high?

  • Humboldt county .... Gods land of the kind. Their should be les gay love shit and more toking

  • @180chavez "Les gay love shit and more toking" ROFL LMAO LOL and every other acronym. That was really funny!! :D

  • Feds should be busting meth labs

  • i picked this movie on netflix out of nowhere, and i fucking love it

    burned out hippies, woods, weed!!

  • Me and a couple of classmates are gonna visit humbolt state soon. this should be good...:)

  • FUCK THIS MOVIE FAKE AS FUCK!!!! PEEP MY CHANNEL IF WANNA SEE HOW HUMBOLDT ROLLS!!! :)

  • HUMBOLDT!!!!!! represent haha we got danker budz than U!!!

  • I like some of the spam. Especially the one mentioning the "limited special effects they had in those days." Yep 2008 was a hard time. And this movie looks like it'd totally need about a million bucks worth of special effects.

  • the director of this movie is my teacher! he's the funniest guy ever. great movie.

  • Humboldt love :)

  • I'm from San Francisco, but I lived in Humboldt for a year. It's a fantastic place. If you haven't checked it out, go visit. It's beautiful. Lots of cool hippies, bohemians and intellectuals.

  • This is a movie I'd watch twice.

  • Every uni holidays (i'm in 3rd yr. atm) I get 2 ounces and chill. It really saved my life. I always so stressed during semesters and this puts everything back in perspective so when I go back everything is as it should be.

  • All this movie needs is a cameo from "Incomplete Pete".

  • that movie looks way to heavy to watch stoned.

  • @goodvibesallround oh god it is i was almost crying when the guy died then the dad was freaking out "I HAVE NOTHING!" omg o___o

  • im going there for a few days

  • All the recent comments seem to be just generic filler followed by spam for all these movie sites... Dragon scene?

Anyways, the movie is decent, definitely one worth watching. It's not at all a "stoner-movie", the characters that smoke weed are not one-dimensional, and the movie deals with significant themes. It's kinda like a less pretentious Garden State.

However, this trailer is pretty bad. It leads you to think the movie is some cheesy indie-romance flick, but it's far better than that.

  • were all your dreams go up in smoke. so true, im from humboldt born and raised but i wont lie and say its the best place in the world. i love it here but it really does get boring as fuck, i think here is a good place to visit, not the best place to live, not the worst either tho

  • Theres a book called "confessions of a dope dealer", it has a similar story. Perhaps the movie is off the book.

  • Anyone know what kind of camera gives this film that vibrant look? It's fantastic seeing a movie that isn't processed with discoloration.

  • Dude potluck needs to cameo in this movie lol.

  • whats the song after 1:02

  • i use to live in humboldt, honeydew mainly after my brother got locked up i had to move to kentucky i wanna go back so bad iso humboldt roomate

  • aparently she wants something spectacular! spectacular!

  • 0:59 creepiest smile EVER

  • i met one of the directors

  • i live in HUMBOLDT COUNTY!!!!!!!!!!! i wanna watch this movie RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!! omg im freaking out they have this movie!

  • amazing movie

  • i live in humbolt county lol

  • I liked this movie, for the most part, but I thought the ending fell flat. The father's character towards the end seemed inconsistent from the beginning, starting out as a stiff but deep charcter, but later appearing one-dimensional. And the audience is left hanging with Fairuza's character, who isn't even in the second half of the movie. But aside from all that, it was a decent story, with a very positive theme.

  • my teacher is the director of this movie!

  • @kkmmi

hey dude, you go to Elite right :D??

  • @kkmmi no way, thats awesome!!!!

  • one of my favorets

  • i think its reasonable and looks like worth watching

  • I went and was going to go to this school back in 2007, but went to University of Arizona instead, obviously I made a mistake.

  • It is funny, poignant and needed. America/ the world? needs this movie like a deficient vitamin. The pace is creamy. Characters are tandoori. The plot is spicy. The movie is raita.

  • @japaneselibrarian shut the fuck up please.

  • I smoke, and I also like this movie. I think this is a great movie. There's nothing wrong with smoking as long as you are responsible about it. Some people handle it better then others.

  • I love Humboldt. The weather is great, the people are chill. The film looks pretty boring though. I'll see it. When I get out of the Army I'm moving there.

  • @thehotshirtguy2008 u smoke weed

  • loved this movie...

  • fairuza balk? i'm there!

  • looks like it may have been good but the song sounds like a fucking target commercial and makes me not want to see this movie.

  • Ignore the song--it's a great movie.

  • yeah its interesting to see what kind of a place people think Humboldt is from watching this movie.....they get some stuff right but not everything. you can never get a perfect picture of a place from just one point of view.

  • @olivesarethebest humboldt truely is a place u have to see to truely understand its beauty

  • i love weed but dam this was the worst pot movie ever

  • It's not just about pot...Its not a stoner movie.

  • Comment removed

  • Almost their its not like that just dont go up to the hills

  • movie... ok.

    humboldt county livin.... great.

  • im a pretty harsh critic when it comes to movies, im allergic to bullshit but they way they portrayed smokers wasn't too bad, the first hour of the movie was pretty good and had me goin. THEN THEY WENT ASS BACKWARDS AND LET ME DOWN anyone else agree...

  • Humboldt is not deadly and violent this i bs

  • this movie just insults my hometown.

  • Yeah, it's my hometown too. I know what ya mean. Pisses me off.

  • whats the song at 1:32 ?

  • Happy Alone, by Earlimart...one of my favorites!

  • Happy alone by earlimart such a good song

  • i live here in Humboldt, and it has some of the most amazing scenery anywhere, it takes you to a different place. i love Moonstone, it looked amazing in the film, ive been exactly there where they were sitting, right next to there is a nice restaurant where you have big glass windows to look out at the beach as you eat.

    i love this place

  • i live in sacramento. i just moved here. sombody please hook me up with some weeed

  • Go down the alley three blocks down from your place, knock on the green door, the ask for Hank, the password is Flubber....

  • This movie be great for neurotic middle aged women, but I found it slow, boring and pointless

  • one of my favorite movies

  • I live right in the middle of arcata haha. go humboldt

  • grew up there...

this movie sucks and very fucking unrealistic....dont waist your time.

    cop sene so fuckn fake..

CAMP dont fly no fuckn coast gaurd heli

they come in black huey helis and fuck good, smart, humble, hard, working peoples lives up..

    fuck hollywood

  • One of the best soundtracks I've ever heard, awesome movie.

  • Does everyone just want to see this movie because it's HUMBOLDT and known for its drugs??????

    that's screwed.....

i live in humboldt and i'm cleaner than a bleach bucket!

not EVERYONE here does drugs and we are NOT a bad place!!!!!

  • i think we can see that it is a very nice place. lol

  • was that sarcasm?

because its not as bad as people say it is!

    i'm not kidding!

    grrr.

  • i think the vid poster deleted my comment. i forgot what i said. but whatever i said was intended to be positive. im going to college there and i cant wait.

  • yes, that's nice. and no your comment wasn't deleted. HSU is a great school. :) I haven't yet hit college though. i'm merely a sophmore in high school.

  • i gotta see thti smovie

  • seems kinda sad in the end...is it??

  • very

  • 5/5 its great. recomend to anyone.

  • humboldt county is my favorite movie ever

  • This movie give good vibes??

  • great vibes.

  • Im from Humboldt and I have not watched this movie yet! I have a hard time believing it will live up to my expectations, but im hella psyched for watching it

  • humboldt county is my home!!! and i love it its cold but great!!! i love that movie

  • Great movie, better than I expected.

  • I live in Humboldt for now and let me tell you... weed is pretty much the ONLY thing that people know us for so go figure that the movie is widely based around it. Hell even that show American Dad mentioned us...for the weed...

  • Hey that's not true man, people know us for our beautiful scenery and warm, rustic aesthetic.

It's the media's fault for only referencing Humboldt County in marijuana-based situations.

  • hey josh, why is that a bad thing to be known for the worlds most useful plant?

  • I didn't say that it was a bad thing, I love weed. But try to think abstractly, say you live in Las Vegas. You love the town for all other aspects of life that it offers besides the casinos and whatnot. Now how would you feel knowing that people are missing out because the media only focuses on that small part of the town's culture? It's not bad, it's just annoying and sad that everyone else only knows about the place you live because of a stupid little commodity.

  • i understand where ur coming from but at least its a great thing that cant change the world that its known for.

like, if your town found a cure for some deadly disease, and its all over the news, you wouldnt say, hey, but we got some nice mountains and ocean views too! it just wouldnt be the main aspect of the town now that you've this wonderful thing to represent your town.

  • Yeah but for the most part, it's shown in a negative light, not positive. I would be delighted to see news stations talk about humboldt county being the main producer of a miricle drug. But instead it's all DEA rades, guns, violence and whatnot, not a good image.

  • yeah totally man, the media is fucked

  • im a kid from SoCal and cant wait to visit Humbold County!!!

i have had teacher from there and man, he makes it sound like heaven, trees, weed, and nice people

    cant wait!

  • Excelent movie.. one of the best..

  • If there's not a cameo apperance by Johnny the Mayor of Orick, it just isn't a film about Humboldt. Come to think of, I don't even know if Johnny is still alive.

  • Humboldt County is a place, not a stigma. But pot is a GOOD stigma. (I`ll stigma foot up yo arse)

  • That's a very logical statement. Perhaps slightly better than the stoners' logic, but then again this is not saying much.

Yeah, you hate the place, but you generalized people in the worst sense. Most of people here are hippies? By what account could you use the word most? there are more stupid city kids run around town causing troubles than hippies.

You generalization made me think about my friend's statement (he's from SF) about east bay is full of low class scumbags (which is untrue)?

  • I will be living there in a couple years hopefully. I like to consider myself a relatively intelligent person, but intellect is subjective. I am calm and currently high enough to pass as a hippie, but I listen to punk and ska exclusively (meaning I rather dislike rap). Apparently in your stay at Humboldt, you never leanred to relax and smoke more.

  • dear cinemysteria,

Fuck you I'm glad you don't live there anymore. Humboldt is the greatest place in the fucking world and as a Humboldt representative I think I speak for the majority in saying 'fuck off'

  • hahahhaahhaa

  • I've lived here my whole life and all i have to show for is 2 dui's and a hatred towards homeless people

  • What's wrong with the homeless? I'm far, far away from Humboldt (In the heart of D.C.) but I want to go there for college. Are there hordes of homeless people trying to shank you for nickels?

  • they're not bad really. there are a lot here in arcata where you would be going to school. they do ask for money a lot. if you actually stop and talk to them you'll find they aren't so bad. some seem pleasantly surprised when i stop since they get ignored so much.

  • and there are so many that sometimes the local center for feeding and sheltering them has trouble keeping up. but the way they commune is actually pretty cool and i've met some nice people among them. everywhere you go there are assholes and weirdos, this being america. no good reason to hate the homeless here. please come to humboldt open-minded. and good luck

  • Very true; I've met a lot of nice people who were homeless while working at a soup kitchen. They've all got their reasons for being on the streets, so I know you can't just judge them on the fact that they are homeless. I'm sure that those who are a little rude or bitter are like that because of the way people have treated them for being homeless. The worst I've seen was a cop in D.C. kicking a sleeping homeless man in the ribs several times with unneeded force to wake him up.

  • Name of music?

  • Happy Alone by Earlimart

  • 707

  • this was a great movie

  • i loved this movie, i dream of growing some day

  • hippie girls taste like tuna

  • explain

  • dude. i was like whoa the way the light was shinin' thru the canopy an all it was like serendipishit an all an then the man leans ova an asks me, like, is this da way ta san jose an im like dude. check ur tude. ya. like not in my lifeline. u kno wat i mean.

  • lol not your typical stoner film but i might give it a go, keep on blazin

  • Dude, you know, I mean ya know...this was a yaknow a "smoking" film. Wow, I mean it was SO.........so, now, what was I talking about? -- Yeah, move to Humboldt County and piss (smoke) your life away. - Makes for a good movie huh?

  • could somebody please tell me what's the name of the song @ 1:03

    thanks

  • i live in humboldt county, lol i cant believe they made a movie out of this shitty place!lol

i dont do the ganja but about everyone else does, even snoop come hee for the weed, lol

  • If you watched this movie and all you got out of the story line was that it was about "potheads",then you missed the entire movie.I thought it was one of the better Indie films of 2008 hands down.Beautifully filmed, great acting wrapped into a semi-fish out of water, finding your way-esque story.

But yeah...they definitely smoked some herb in it..lol!

  • im not a tweaker but i love the ganja

  • gimme a bounty

  • a wonderful film.

  • We are not all pot heads! WTF, way to go and let some movie make the people of humboldt look like they live up to their stereotype.

I for one am not a pot smoking hippy and i live in Humboldt!

  • Sooo, you're a pot head in denial.

  • i agree with don lol

  • @gag75 good for you cause i am...

  • @gag75 wow relax.

  • omg i lovedd this movie

  • were can i watch this movie online i wanna watch this

  • its nice seeing someone capture some of the feel of the area. i hope it doesnt draw too many people over there. i think it's partly the fact that so many people dont know how cool it is there, that helps keep it the way it is.

  • weed growing in the great red wood forest

    thats true beauty

  • Nice.Great video

  • this is a really really good movie

    it could happen to anyone

  • This movie's not about the cities in Humboldt county anyway. If you were to make a movie about Eureka/Arcada it would just be one big tweaker fest. Not that the whole town is that way but anyone living there will admit there is a big meth problem. Marijuana is not really a problem as much as it is a commercial asset. And thats what this movies about: growers up in the rural mountains of HC.

  • Its funny to think that when you buy a sac, it has been carefully taken care of, harvested, fingered, and manicured by some random hillbilly up in the woods. But thats how it is. I learned this from 3 weeks of trimming kush up in the woods at my friends dad's cabin. Super rural tho. Like I didn't shower for three weeks and when i got home, my pants that i wore up there still smelt like weed even after i washed them three times over.

  • Don't forget about McKinleyville. Biggest little town around. But yeah Humboldt really is absolutely full of marijuana. Our counties symbol is the pot leaf, it's on our sweatshirts and tshirts, etc. But hey, there's more than just pot in Humboldt... mack town has the biggest totem pole in our Safeway shopping center...

  • lol thats sick, when i get my own place Im going to just grow like 1-2 plants for personal. Fuck selling shit can go wrong way too fast :/

  • Arcata. With a 'T'. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people get the name of the town wrong. My parents still call it Arcadia even though I've been living there for two years now. And not everyone that lives in Humboldt County is a tweaker who loves pot.

  • Arcada ... commie capital of the west coast. - When you visit, make sure you stay upwind of the bums on the plaza.

  • i liive in humboldt county; it's amaziing!!

  • this movie looks so damn good

    i need to see it

  • WTF??? This is no pothead movie.... This looks like Dick Licking shit to me.

  • you know there are actually things other than pot in humboldt.

  • "you know there are actually things other than pot in humboldt." -- Yeah, lets not forget the MethHeads.

  • exactly.

  • i really want to watch this and see if its anything like our real humboldt county. i've lived in humboldt my whole life!

heres to crabs baseball and the plaza and all the good times here!

  • was i in this movie drinking oly to my facE?? that aint no humboldt shit...TCH

  • Humboldt county is raddness

  • haha, i live in humboldt county XD

  • lived in humboldt county for 14 years!

  • can u get me some of there weed?

  • awesome movie.

  • Hooray for us Humbolt County People! We're the best of the coast!

Humbolt county does deal with a big Pot problem, but after a while it just becomes

a normal thing. I've lived in Humbolt County,

Arcata for 18 years, and I'm damn proud.

  • Humboldt is definitely famous for this. And honestly people, do you really think that a movie about Humboldt would really be about anything other than pot? For anyone saying it's just HSU students that smoke on the other trailer comments, that's not true at all. A vast majority of the people of Humboldt deal/smoke it.

Yes, there are people that are an exception as with every rule, but come on. We're famous for it for a reason. People don't just wear the Humboldt sweatshirts for fashion.

  • Speak for yourself. I didn't come here for it or live here for here. Yeah I have done it and am surprised that there are so many dumbass live on it.

There are lots of "liberals" (ones who talk, smoke, and do nothing) and "spirituals" (ones who are into weird mix of religions) in Arcata. Then we have a bunch of fucking redneck like the rest of USA, outside Arcata (yeah McK, Eureka, Fortuna). And then SoHum, where SoCal and Bay Area drug dealers make their doughs and host their orgy parties at.

  • its the #1 growers location as of 2007

,and this is probably based on true events

i wana see this so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yo yo yo, what up!? I hope this movie doesn't suck, being i'm from humboldt. i just want to see moonstone beach on the big screen. i wonder if they filmed on the plaza...

  • its not set in the south its in humboldt county which is in northern california where tons of high grade weed is grown

  • humboldt county is alot like this movie. now they have to make a del norte county (the county right next to it) and have a meth lab.

  • I NEED THIS MOVIE.. lol. Damn Oct 3rd in NYC showing in ONE theater. WTF? They'll show buffoonery like Pineapple Express nationwide but they'll only show a more intelligent cannabis-based film in ONE theater in NYC at a later date... WTF?

on another note, i do agree that people need to stay out of humboldt. attracting too much damn attention and giving the DEA a way to get into their PRIVATE business. we need free places like humboldt county to stay quiet and off the radar.. unfortunately....

  • the other song is called "happy Alone" by earlimart.

  • I live in humboldt county and this actually seems like a accurate representation of the place well in some ways just keep in mind it's not all like this

  • I don't know what the one at 1:30 is called, but I do know that the one at 0:44 is a song called M79 by Vampire Weekend. I love VW and I can't wait to see this movie! My sister went to Dell Arte for a year so I got to go up to Humbolt County for a bit! It's beautiful there!
