I will probably get flamed for this but................................this was my favourite line up.This guitarist used play the guitar behind his back behind his head he was very good.Great memories.
Thanks for the video, nice to see Lee and the newer boys playing. I first saw them in the mid 70,s down by the jetty. That was with the classic line up and i've seen them about 20 times over the years, they were such a great live band. They are still performing but I have not seen them since Lee passed away in the early ninties. Dr Feelgood were with Lee the best live pub/R&B four man beat combo ever. ***** yes five stars.
HISTORY: The real one & only "Dr.Feelgood" was William Lee Perryman AKA "DR.FEELGOOD" & "PIANO RED"(Born; Oct.19 1911). This Dr. Feelgood was a boogie & blues pianist, his motto was:"Music is Medicine". It's very likely, that in the end William Lee Perryman is the only source for the name "Dr.FEELGOOD".
I think you've missed the point here. I love Piano Red AND Dr Feelgood. A lot of sixties R&B groups got their name from blues songs - The Rolling Stones and The Pretty Things are two that come to mind. In this case the name came from the record Dr Feelgood by Dr Feelgood and the Interns (1962) (as you and I know - this was Piano Red) Johnny Kidd and the Pirates covered this song and that's where this Dr Feelgood got their name. I can't see any problem with that. Piano Red rocks, Dr Feelgood rock
I agree. I still remember when Piano Red/the real Dr. Feelgood would play at our high school dances down here in south Georgia. There's only one Dr. Feelgood.
The host is a dickhead announcing that the Feelgoods stepped in at short notice because Toto (?) had an accident. Lee was a true gentleman, bless his soul!
Im fortunate to seen them live twice, the second time was in guernsey in the early 90's.I had a drink with them before the gig,he gave me one of them eye poppping stares during the show. You live on:+)thanks for sharing....

Not Lee's best moment on slide & bad choice of guitar. Check him out playing Back in the night, live at Canvey Island, Superb.
