  • omphalocele is a type of abdominal wall defect in which the intestines, liver, and occasionally other organs remain outside of the abdomen in a sac because of a defect in the development of the muscles of the abdominal wall.

  • @52689prettyflo Omphalocoele is a congenital disorder in which the intestines remain outside instead of returning to the abdomen. During development, the abdominal cavity is too small for development of the intestines so intestines undergo a process known as physiological herniation. During this process, if the intestines do not return to the abdomen after developing, the intestines will be termed as an omphalocoele. Wrapping the infant basically prevents heat from external exposure.
