@grimmmm5 i just passed this challenge :) avoiding the flying hammer is the only thing that's annoying. it's REALLY hard to time shooting the gun and doing the roll under the hammer, so i found it's much easier to just press "back+low kick". he does the sweep and ducks under the hammer, then just continue shooting. keeping Shao Khan as far away as possible all the time is the most important thing. also if he keeps charging and gets close block, then uppercut that mofo.

Just keep pistol spamming and watch when he throws the hammer, then jump and pistol spam. If you get close to him, watch him try to make a move then make him spread 'em!  I never had to roll to throw him!

Just make sure you pistol his ass right when you stand up from the rolling toss or else you'll get hit with the hammer if he decides to throw a hammer right after. idk about your Shao Kahn but mine decides to throw consecutive hammers and stun me to death like the asshole he is.

@The01jordanfan: I posted a video response to this video that should help you with challenge 275. As far as 251 all I can say is spam soul steal on the first 2 and pray. Shang has nothing but fireballs so this challenge is ridiculous. You might try to learn some of Shang Tsungs combos as well which you can find on my channel in the mk9 character combos folder. @The01jordanfan 251 frustrated me for 4 hours, then i found a strategy on a video. use soul steal over and over and over on baraka and sindel, (only use that and a few fireskulls) and then on shao khan jump over his head and uppercut continuously, and hope he tries to sideways hammer hit so you get a free hit. hop this helps :\

@nubtublol: Yes you can, if the roll doesn't work for you just try jumping the hammer. I think you can even hit (Back + Circle or B) to sweep under it. Don't give up man you can do this!

I actually naturally arrived at this same strategy! I couldn't do my normal techniques when I fight him on Expert (stay close and jump over her and catch him from behind) so when I tried this it worked great - but I didn't know about the rolling toss!! GREAT IDEA! When I go through the game with stryker on expert, I'll use that!

i find it very hard to perform certain tricks in this game...its quite annoying...when i try to do the gun i get the grenade throw very often (and that is not as effective as the handgun...) my left thumb is getting sore with this spamming: how do u guys spam (d-pad or analog? ps3...) either way is not doing it for me : d-pad is 2 small and analog stick i tend to do unwated jumps. i get this stuff 2 when trying to do uppercut with raiden, i get this lightning grab...u guys play with a stick?

@Gethez555: I use the Dpad, and for the first week my thumb was in serious pain but now its more tempered for the abuse. The dpad is fine for me but I have talked to several who find it too small. There may be a custom controller that you can purchase but other than that I can't be sure. Good luck man.

@Gethez555: If you are not max distance when he throws the hammer, you will get hit when trying to roll. If you find that the transition into the roll is more trouble than its worth for you there are a few other ways to dodge it. You can jump the hammer, and I think you can do a ducking kick to dodge it too; a few other viewers posted strats here in the comments for people having trouble with hammer timing. Keep me posted and kick some ass, bro!

I fought all 3 Shao Kahns,no gimmicks. Im not here to troll and say that your methods are for punks, matter of fact the exact opposite...genius actually. My stubbornness made me avoid YouTube i wanted to complete The Tower with no skips and no help, just me. Im not here to tell you im a master cause im not but im not too bad ; ). And im def not here to tell you this was easy because it took me (guessing)20+ tries... Shao Kahn destroyed me. In the end this was the hardest challenge of them all.

I used the same handgun shots from the furthest distance you can get. I didn't use the roll, it's an awesome strategy but it didn't seem to work for me. Shao just kept nailing me before I could pull out the roll. I didn't use the duck and kick, because a lot of times a high kick would come out or I'd still get nailed by the hammer.

So, instead I spammed him with the handgun from teh furthest distance, and once the hammer came, I did a vertical jump, then continued firing. Didn't xray once.

Wow, I had COMPLETELY forgotten about that roll of his. I simply jumped over him, punched/upper'd him, jumped back and started shooting. I always jumped over the hammers. It took me 7 tries. On my winning try, I got to the last Shao Khan with only a sliver of health left (regular jab would'be done me in), and I shot Khan as he went in to whack me with his X-Ray move. The second shot killed him in mid-air, right as the hammer was about to hit me in the face. ;p
