  • What was the music playing?

  • Nice video, I'm 4 blocks from Linden Station.

  • @metroktransit .Hey I live 4 blocks from the Linden station also! Thanks for the comment!

  • Nice vid!

  • Thanks

  • I'm sorry, but a 6-car train of overweight power-hungry Multilevels with an unreliable POS42 is nearly twice what any Bay Head-Hoboken train needs, especially on a day like THIS. In other words, a huge needless waste of fuel and money.

  • That's almost twice the train under normal circumstances. If money is tight, don't waste it.

  • Forgive my ignorance why is the POS42 unreliable?

  • To put it simply, the PL42AC, sometimes referred to as the POS42AC, breaks down nearly all the time. That is why they are so unreliable.

  • Okay, they haven't broken down as much lately as they used to. But I remember, back in February of 2008, the first PL42AC in revenue service on the Raritan Valley Line broke down because of computer problems.

Also NJT could probably get away with 5 Comets on most trains in and out of Bay Head.

  • I see. I do agree with you that multilevels are not necessary at all for Bay Head trains. Also, I'm very sad about the death of the Comet IIIs.;(

  • Yes, I don't want to see them scrapped either. I'm totally sick of NJT ML's. However, if NJ Transit wants to run Multilevels to Bay Head, they should at least have trains of LESS than 6 Cars. (6 ML=WAY too heavy, think 3-5 cars instead if at all).

  • Exactly. For example, I've recently seen sets on the Bergen Line and RVL of five multilevels, and that seems to be good enough. For the Coast Line it should definitely be 3-4, 5 max.

  • hehe, why where you out there? LOL

  • I live 4 blocks away. I have wanted to do a trains in the snow shoot for some time. Still it was damn cold! LOL

  • Interesting , whats there to do in Linden?

  • Basically, Linden is the first stop after Elizabeth on the NEC southbound. Just what you see as far as railfanning.

  • Rahway is the next stop after Linden. The station platform puts you close to the action. This is the last stop for the North Jersey coast line before it splits off from the NEC and heads south for its run to the Jersey Shore
