  • this song ALWAYS makes me cry

  • Musical mathematics say that if you like this song. You should also like Auld Lang Syne. Thumbs if this is true. Thumbs down if it isn't. :)

  • RIP johnny cash buddy we miss you :(

  • For the 132 people who disliked this and for all the people that even consider it. You need to reevaluate your definition of real music.

  • I got this song from Columbiana

  • describes my feelings right now. I'm in love with a guy who already has a girlfriend, and it hurts. This song describes my whole life exactly, except I haven't stopped feeling.

  • @ocrerose please girl don't compare this great masterpiece with ur small insignificant feelings IT IS NOT THE SAME

  • @izgyzek Its probably exactly the same. A big part of music is emotion and thats one of the reaons people connect with it. So rather than shit all over someone because a particular song triggers an emotional response or they connect with it on an emotional level, maybe you should try to understand that the reason other folks are about to connect wit this tune on an emotional level is probably because of the emotion Johnny put into it. Fucking asshole.

  • I love how the lyrics are in English and German, haha

  • @HaileyWarner

    its pretty worse translated

  • Am i the only one who looks at all these Comments involving the death of a close family member or friend, and wonders if half of them are even real?

  • @despisebieber im the same way but my grandma said this was her favorite song by johnny cash a week before she died and now i listen to it everyday.

  • @despisebieber 150 or so throusand people die every day. They are probably real.

  • ;-; ....I've tried stopping people from suicide. They always come to me. I've stopped over 14 people so far....The first time I failed I hurt myself. ;3;

  • I like this better then the original !!!

  • Every time I hear this song I tear up. I can't help it even if i try my best not to cry.

  • 132 guys don't know what is the real music

  • Pure emotions, Johnny made it his.

  • Johnny Cash, my biggest influence in my life.

  • im 14 and im listening to this... love this song dearly...

  • Listening to Johnny's version I feel so much more... I feel his hurt. I feel his pain. I feel. I ache.

  • RIP Johnny Cash. We will never forget you!

  • Man, the quality is sooo good. Thank you!

  • They asked the singer of Nine Inch Nails what he thought about johnny's cover... He resoponded "The song is no longer mine".

  • @XboxliveMonkeyClan Cash's version really is better than NIN's, which is amazing. Its a wonderful cover.

  • this is exactly how i feel right now...better then i can say myself

  • Why does youtube song comments end in arugements. Not to piss anybody off but... It doesn't matter who cover this song your listening to the Johnny Cash version get over it. It doesn't matter if you say the music of todays generation sucks or not... its your opinon. fuckinh get over it. The world isn't going to end because of it. Every generation has sucky music beacuse some people have opinons. Let's listen to the song and be happy. once again NOT TO PISS ANYBODY OFF. it's my opinon

  • @Sandi142012 don't bother trying to calm youtube it will always be like this, might as well laugh at dipshits and bieber fans spitefully (SNOOGANS) just sayin theres no such thing as peace bruv :3 just remember, SNOOCHIE BOOCHIE NOOCHIES!!!!!!!!!!! those words will get you through life, PS. =3

  • my grandad sang this beautiful song to me right before he died. love this song!

  • WOW.....This is so true.If youy have ever been addicted to drugs or alcohol, you feel exactly what Johnny is telling..I like it a lot better than NIN

  • johnny cash did an amazing cover of this song but the original by nine inch nails is amazing

  • @kimjohn312

This is the Original the one by nine inch nails is a cover

  • @BenDeanFisher nope

  • @BenDeanFisher sry it isn't "In 2002, 'Hurt' was covered by Johnny Cash..." look up wikipedia: Hurt (Nine Inch Nails song)

  • HOW THE HELL IS IT POSSIBLE FOR 132 PEOPLE TO DISLIKE THIS SONG!!!!!

  • @MrThinkblue42 they have horrible taste in music dude, they will never know true passion and heart he put into his songs

  • I remember when I was little when Johnny Cash died. I didn't understand it then, but now I see how much he really did for the evolution of music. RIP Johnny Cash, I look forward to meet you in heaven!:D

  • Read my blog on Johnny Cash's inspiration, and other interesting background stories on the greatest songs, musicians and bands at music-essentials.blogspot.com

  • I apologize for allowing my 13 year old access to my you tube account. He was on it while I was driving. I did not know that he was posting comments. This has been addressed.

  • I'm 2 years old and I apologize for what my generation has done to music

  • @Brynjar101 Will do*

  • should be my theme song, but mr.lonely is just PERFECT for me

  • 60s-90s were good times. then 2000 hit. now we have crap music. words have lost meaning. and people have fake emotion now. i call the generations of today the "fake ones".

  • i dont want people to apologize on my behalf for killing music. there is the most incredible talented artists out there. just look for them and stop assuming that britney and katy perry are the only music out there. just find and support the bands and singers out there with a genuine gift.

  • best cover ever.

  • 131 people got hurt

  • oops, i thought u bad commented, srry :D

  • @moonwych1313 I was about to tell you that they meant it in a good way but I guess you found out yourself. Best delete that comment before they rage on you :P

  • Comment removed

  • @moonwych1313 I come to this song to get out of my sadness.

It's people like you that make people like me feel emotions like this song.

Don't use gay derogatorily. You're the asshole, here.

  • @ttoxique

Ball up queer. You really need to stop letting things get to you. Become the asshole, or better yet, secure.

  • Funny thing is, this song isn't that old. We just need to kill off all of the pop stars and let real musicians who are kept down by them flourish.

  • @Xiphos0292 You know this is a cover. Nine Inch Nails did it originally in the 90's.

  • @countryjake100 exactly, and like I was saying since reznor is still active as well as other worthwhile artists, we just need to get rid of useless pop stars in order to save music

  • kósý með daryl

  • people should never say and genera is bad. every genera of music has bad songs. doesnt mean that whole genera of music is bad. idk. thats just my opinion

  • love this song all rap ad shit will burn this is the origins of good music right here

  • Sad but true, Aint time a motherfucker?

  • Todays music doesn't suck more or less than other generations.... You all forget that the music we remember from those generations are the choice pieces, Basically the great music that has survived the test of time... all the hundreds of thousands of crappy music from all generations has died!!!! so we are left with just the good music from the past... No with todays music we hear all of it the good and the bad! 20 years from now the crappy music will have faded and the good music will prevail.

  • @araujojorge no, it fuckin sucks.

  • @araujojorge i love your perspective on things. have you ever seen the movie the dead poet society?

  • @araujojorge Thank you for being a beacon of logic in this shit storm.

  • @araujojorge I can't really think of artists from nowadays that can nearly mess with the old ones. Have any examples?

  • @araujojorge

thats right, but in my opinion, the less good music of our time isnt a good represantiv of this time. i mean, there are still songs produced they are pretty good, but less people listen to them... i hope we never forget...

and this song is so great, i have to cry the whole time

  • I dont think our music sucks.. I think its very raw and needs to be refined into something worth listening to, but without people trying to help it'll just get worse. Imagine the next generation we're going to leave. And imagine the crap they are going to listen to if we allow good music to be forgotten, for what crap there is today.

  • played at my dads funeral. he commit suicide because of depressions. Today it's my first birthday since then. Life is fucking hard. take care of everyone you love and don't forget to tell your parents that you love them. Because one day you have to recognize that its too late.

Peace for all the fallen angels and kisses to heaven!!!!

  • @FlairMusic1 Amen my friend...I lost my dad to drugs. Beautiful song.

  • @FlairMusic1 life will get better bro just keep your head up

  • @FlairMusic1 Life's a bitch. Beautiful song for a funeral. Let your father rest in peace. Be strong.

  • @FlairMusic1

I read your comment while listening to this song and I almost cried, I haven't realy cried for almost 10 years.. Be strong!

  • that is soo sad the same thing happened to me but my grandmother died this was her favorite song but all you can do is just let them know in your prayers that you love them and they will always be in your heart i pray every day hoping that my grandmother is with me

  • This song is written by Nine Inch Nails.^^

But I love it just the same!

    Johnny Cash <3

  • thunbs up if colombiana brought u here

  • The thing with music, good music is remembered, bad music isn't. As such the crappy music we hear now a days will be forgotten, but when we are all older our children will be listening to the good music just like we are listening to good music now.

  • thumbs up if 9gag brought you here

  • Trent Reznor <3

  • what the fuck is it allowd to write so great songs ?! o___O

  • johnny cash R.I.P u remind me of my grandfather....he's dying and sings ur songs....i have knowledge but i hope to 1 day have ur wisdom...thank u for the truth u've spoke through this musik though i say poetry is wat u presented..if there is a god let him bless ur soul

  • his voice is touchin, i listened this song once, then twice. now i fucking raped the replay button and its stuck in my head

  • Yes the beutifull music we once knew will be replaced by computers, but one day I will do covers of what was once know as music and so on I wil do my best to keep music alive

  • 129 people listen to today's gay music.

  • I'm 16 years old but I'm not gonna apologize on behalf of my generation because I did not partake in their choice in music and there's lots of good songs out there but their hidden.

  • goosebumps!!!!!!!

  • I TOTALLY got the chills with this song!!!

  • the world will end 2012 because of all the crappy music our generation produced

  • epic comment is epic, and copying comments is copying - to you and to the dinomahmutovic, whose comment is a more loyal interpretation of the epic comment of that kid which even appeared on 9gag. It's a cool comment, but it's also enough I guess. Maybe if we try to make better than these crappy bands we have nowadays the world of music would be a better place ;)

  • Love this song, I was thinking about this song when I fell out of bed and smack my elbolw on the nightstand the other day.

  • I'm 16 I apologize on behalf of my generation for killing music.

  • @dinomahmutovic10 shut up

  • @dinomahmutovic10 bitch please, there are a LOT of good new bands, the difference is that nowadays you have to search for them, because they're not on the radios.

  • @Gabrol nah im gonna have to side with Dino on this one. as a 16 year old teenager myself, its a bitch to find any good music past the 90's and dont say we haven't looked cause trust me, iv looked. in fact personally i dont really listen to anything past the 80's really.

  • @13xo4life search for the channel "rpoland" if that isn't good music I don't know what the fuck are you talking about.

  • @13xo4life Search for Tallest Man on Earth. He is the best artist out there today. All of his songs are great, but my personal favorites are "Pistol Dreams", "The Gardener", "The Wild Hunt" and "Weather of a Killing Kind". Good music hasn't died out, it's just hiding in different countries and in the underground of the US. Cheers!

  • @RedDeadAficionado Thanks i will

  • @dinomahmutovic10 what the freak is that supposed to mean?

  • @carlitagrimaldi615 fuck off go back to your stupid facebook

  • @dinomahmutovic10 me too

  • eveyone thanks for the life stories, but just listen to the song. that's what we all came for. :]

  • The intro is the best :D

  • johnny fucking cash >

  • Music didn't get better or worst it just changed like most things do. Our generation didn't do shit Time did all the work . Some people will never learn to stop discriminating NEVER ..

  • anyone heard the original? by nine inch nails?

  • @TheSummerinfrance I have, but it seems to me that Johnny Cash really delivered it with the feeling it needed...The nine inch nails original is still great though

  • @TheSummerinfrance yep, but.... no offense to our god trent reznor, this was better

  • What have I become??

  • Damn it,this always gets me.I feel as though I lived a part of his life and know what hes talking about.

  • Most amazing cover i have ever heard... Ever. Johnny you will live in my heart forever.

  • i fuckin love this song. ! it compares soo much to my life :')

  • I've been finished by my girlfriend who I would have done anything for. This seems so appropriate right now.

  • Whenever I listen to this song I look back at my life: the good things, sad moments, evil deeds, and finding hope the next day.

  • 129 idiots thought that Johnny Cash was a new popstar.

  • 129 people are bastards who know nothing

  • i dont listen to this kind of music but hands down I LOVE THIS SONNG!!

  • Shivers....

  • im only 13 and i think its a beast song

  • @49cathals I'm 14 and sick of these comments. Listen to the song without these generic comments. It's great that we still appreciate this music, but it's really getting annoying hearing this stuff on every single page.

  • My Fav...

  • Comment removed

  • and some people say that justin bieber is the best, please fuck you all bieber's fans.

  • A true American treasure. I'm glad he had a final hit, a truly relevant one, before he left us. He showed a young generation just how great he truly was. Long live the Man in Black,

  • Im 13

    my fathers loves rihanna

my mother loves another shitty pop music

i love GNR Johnny Cash Led Zeppelin Pink floyd Eric Clapton Mike Oldfield

My Generation ruined music no doubt bout that

  • @MrReviewsHD Thats good for you, I'll be sure to tell your teacher to give you a gold star.

  • @jackalhunt1 fuck yea!

  • @MrReviewsHD Our generations mainstream music is nothing compared to its predecessors of the 60's 70's and 80's so in a sense, yes modern day music has ruined music. But that is being slightly stereotypical as there is still amazing music to be found in this generation, sieve through and you will find some diamonds amidst the dirt. Music is not dead you just have to know where to look:)

  • @PJMGfilms I have to be honest, there's tons of good music in today's generation. It's not even that hard to find. And for the record, I think 80's mainstream music was horrible. 90's wasn't bad. The 60's had amazing pop music though

  • @PJMGfilms i totally agree with you dude..the sheety society and the modern times has ruined the music..but you cant turn back now...lets keep those lovely songs and this kind of music to our minds as a sweet memory...!!

  • @MrsBigSmile000 I don't think that was what he/she was saying. I believe he/she was saying that if you looked hard enough, you'll always be able to find great music, even in this generation. Then again, I could be mistaken. I'm not a mind reader.

  • Comment removed

  • @PJMGfilms for those who want alternatives to todays shitty pop music (pop as in popular) there are bands/artists like Shotgun Sevolution, Elbow, Jonathan Coulton, Airbourne and apocaliptica

  • @PJMGfilms i like all music including this generations and i love johnny cash too

  • @PJMGfilms making money from music is dead

  • @PJMGfilms You're right. All music these days aren't crap. We just think that way 'cause most of it is. Like you said, You just have to find some diamonds amidst the dirt. BUT it's still amazing that there's people who will keep these old songs, bands, artists alive. I'm only fifteen (okay, I will be soon), teenage girl from Finland but thanks to my mom, sister and myself I mostly listen these oldies, mostly rock but I think pop music was also better in the past decades.

  • @MrReviewsHD No... mainstream ruined music... I never hear good songs meaningful on mainstream they're are still good musicians rappers singers etc around but its underground. Believe me I listen to alot of good music and classics likethis often

  • @MrReviewsHD Oh boy! Do you want a cookie? You're clearly a special snowflake.

  • @Hohensyubangawoo

    yes please im starving

    cock shiner ><

shut the fuck up you dont care about it

    dont comment

as you can see 34 people feel the same like i do

    so if you dont STFU

  • @MrReviewsHD Wow, 34 people! That's a lot of people, if you stop to think about the world population. I guess I might as well just agree with you because a couple of other dumbfucks think the same way you do! Golly gee, thanks for this life lesson. Sorry I hurt your feelings.

  • @Hohensyubangawoo dude listen thats a free world ihave the right to think whatevery iwanna ithink ithink this generation if fucked up the music is fucked up the people are fucked up everytime i play some zeppelin in my class people starts shouting close this shit so dude if you want listen to justin bieber even i wont hate you iwill just had a diffrenent opinion peace
  • @MrReviewsHD Hey guess what, everything you're saying is just your opinion, and you are officially too stupid to troll. Congrats!

  • @Hohensyubangawoo

    thats my point moron

thats my opinion got a problem with it?

than fuck you i dont care

  • @MrReviewsHD You don't have a point, you're just an idiot. If you don't care, stop replying to me. I'll give you back your pacifier and blankie if you want. :(

  • @MrReviewsHD Im 13 to. My dad loves johnny and my mum prefers listening Jacko or the Beatles. I learn what means music. I also listen modern music, like Green day, Fall out boy, Mcfly , Jason Mraz. And I listen Bon Jovi, Red hot chili pepers, Kings of lion...

I don't think pop is bad because in my country (spain) they don't like people that listen pop, and they hate people who listen all the music that i put before. They only listen reggeton and shits like that. And this is sad.

  • @MrReviewsHD Can I just... say something? Our generation didn't ruin anything. What's popular is rarely what becomes remembered as good, (some exceptions like the Beatles do exist though) and what will be great in the future may not be recognized for it now. Look at Electroswing, look at the indie/alt rock waves, hell, look at some parts of Rap.

Also, "Sugar" by the Archies was once the most popular song of the year. Some oldies are good, but there's always been crap on the top.

  • @MrReviewsHD what do you want a fucking medal?

  • @lapacman26

yeah it'd be nice if people got over themselves eh?

  • @MrReviewsHD

absolutely agree that most music thisdays is junk... however there are still few good stuff that is truely worth it =)

  • @MrReviewsHD Fuck off.

  • @MrReviewsHD

    good for you

  • @MrReviewsHD 'Cause u like Johnny Cash, don't mean that your mom of dad's taste of music sucks. Don't be such a asshole, if u dont like Rihanna. you just dont give a fuck if your dad does. Little respect to the artist, no matter what the genre is

  • @MrReviewsHD My parents are like that as well. If it wasn't for my brother, I'd probably be the same way. -.-

  • this is so powerful. this means a lot. A LOT.

  • Ima metal head ... but I still have country roots.. <3 oh Cash ..

  • I was raised on Johnny Cash, though I'm more into heavy metal music. But, he will always be my idol. RIP Johnny. <3 This song makes me cry every time.

  • @Aussie27Legend ohh same

  • This songs for some reason reminds me of the end of a brutal war movie (ex. Hamburger Hill, Saving Private Ryan, Platoon); great introspective tune

  • Gets me. Every. Time.

  • What's up with the filthy Bosche version of the lyrics?

  • The dislikers are people who couldnt stop crying...

  • wtf 128 dislikes whats there to dislike its a masterpeice

  • I like how NIN said that this song is was honestly meant for Johnny Cash

  • this song tells u alot about my life.

  • for some reason when my dad showed me this i was crying

  • @TheJordankid12 You cried? Pussy.
