this track is definetly one of the best rap songs ever. i agree, nine was/is very underated. unfortunatly he was vanished from the hip hop scene in the late 90´s. ;-(((
easy to see where dmx got jis style..instrumental is a mix of cypress hills - how i could just kill a man, brand nubians - punks jump up and a pinch of yellowman's six million ways
you know why modern suck? cus the people who get down to good shit downloads the tracks on internet or steals da cd .. only one buying are wannabes with a pile of money as big as my house.. hopefully people will begin buying underground artist cds again so the sick ones wont give up and people like soulja boy can suck a dick ! support the real hip hop!!!

The "six million" sample is still alive. The Colombian label Progrezo Records has released a cd - called "6 Million" with house, techno and triphop tracks based on the same sample. Check out Beatport for some previews.
Been lookin for this video for a while.....Nervous Records was hittin the Underground heavy back then. Check the Yankee jackets! Wassup wit Nine now??
I was jus goin thru my records this morn and I found this, I hadn't played it in years! Rocked it many times ova!
Now a few bits of info to help clarify for the people; this wasn't a 'Flex and the Ghetto Celebs' trak, just Flex. It's a b-side of 'Sad & Blue', a Slick Rick sampling hip hop instro released on Wreak Records. This video version isn't the same as the version on the 12, Nine rips it even ruffer on the wax! And to top it off the vocal is the 5th trak on the b-side!
this version is tight I never heard this one. Wasn't this around the time New york was trying to be hardcore and gritty to match the Gangsta Rap on the west coast?
Do or die's version is a more Mob Gothic sound with a grim over tone. I like both versions though.
I bought the cassette single when this came out in the early 90s and i still own it. i've been able to find the instrumental on the likes of kazaa & limewire, but not the song itself. but it's gotta be out there somewhere.
i have the 12" of the breakbeat; it's one of my favourites... i can't remember where i got it... nervous was one of my favourite labels in the 1990s. that and big beat.
93.....takes me right back. This was hip hop's golden age. Like 9DM would later say (after he became known as Nine) 'No phony no baloney just a homie mic's and wheels of steel'
Damn this is some real hip hop/rap i was boren in 93 good thing my uncles listened to old skool rap or i wouldnt know how good this stuff is or i wouldnt be able to say the SHIT today is SHIT!!!!!!
Even though he only made 2 albums he has been around since 1986. He started in a group called deuces wild with flex and made some singles also as 9mm. I have some of his old shit before he used the deep voice, he still kicks it.
six millions ways to die means you can die 6 million ways. hit by a car some disease you can fall of a roof you can get attacked by a wild cougar. but only one will kill ya. so choose one.
This was and is dope Hip Hop NO lie.

Anybody knows - is this the song the famous "6 million ways to die" vocal sample comes from ? Or this song also samples it from somewhere else ?
And why it's "6 million" and not 5 million or 7 million ? What's the meaning behind this number ?
