For people who are complaining that the tempo is too fast, Rachmaninoff personally came to dislike this piece (because people wanted him to play it so often) even though it is one of his most popular works, So perhaps he is playing it so fast because he just wanted to get it over with.

@Gunmetallic91 Good music like this scarecely gets a fraction of the traffic a guy and his ukulele at his desk get. I submit that most people associate classical music with punishment, and they resent what serves as a reminder of their percieved shortcomings.
@Zwingli10 It seems like that right? Well actually Rachmaninov was just graduating from the Conservatory when he wrote this, and he received the Gold Medal for Piano in the same year. So I imagine he was pretty happy :D
The fastest playing I've heard, but definitely the best. He clearly wanted the dramaticism to show through tempo as well as dynamics and personally I think it adds a great effect to it.

Gotta be one of the angriest piano pieces in history.

@kevingarbage I agree, I like Gilels' playing more. Blasphemous as it is.

@kevingarbage This should be as fast as it should be, seeing as it is Rachmaninov himself playing.
On a lighter note, wonderful sound quality for a Rach performance.

In my opinion is too fast this couldn't be Rachmaninoff because it have tempos faster than others 0:01 and 0:54 can be an xample

@SertavisSaviPianist Even using the wrong terminology, I think you got my meaning. Sorry I am just an uneducated lover of music. I love this piece.
