@Useurbandage15 Check the armory of some good pally/warrior tanks and you'd realise that they mainly use Blood Draining and Mongoose and never Blade Ward because of the lackluster proc rate and diminishing returns.
You talk about how it would seperate people if you have different guild talents...i think that would be ok... you can still talk to people who are not in your guild, however if you want to pve and pvp (because you can only raid 2 or 3 days of the week) then that would kind of suck because you'd have to either deal with the consequences or switch between guilds often
Real reason why everything we were really looking forward was taken out is...Activision needs the game released early so they can pay off the lawsuit from Infinity Ward lol, and mean while Bioware is taking their time, because its Bioware, they never release a bad game, nor are they trying to "kill WoW" Blizzard is doing a fine job on their own so they new MMO can be worked on.

@Andulvar I actually don't doubt that there is a kernel of truth to that. So much of the content that really could have changed WoW and added some width and depth was the content that got the axe. And of course that would also be the content that would require the most effort. I am not a naysayer, I like Blizzard, I love my WoW, and I dont really have plans to touch any new "WoW killers" that are on the way.
That being said, this just feels more like a money grab by Blizzard, I am disappointed.

They should have never messed with Guilds, this will DESTROY World of Warcraft until it's fixed, Guild Masters are going to be way too overpowered, and certain people will not be able to even play the game because they're not in a certain guild.
Could it be a idé to make the guild system so if you do BG's then your guild gets BG points. killing bosses you get PvE points and just go on like that ? So in that way your guild can be focuses on PvE but still be able to make BG and Leveling Tallents ?

Well, I believe that the post I was going to reply to is gone. For clarification's sake, I meant players. Not toons. At one point, mine was the largest active guild on the server and would frequently see 40-60 on at a time. Even now we've still generally got in the 10-30 range on most of the time. It's not a "King Tut" attitude. It's a simple matter of saying, "This is what this guild is about." If people don't like it, they go elsewhere. And if people cause excessive drama, you toss them.

@Zelphas 10 man will hopefully be the same difficulty as 25m and they will drop the same item lvl loot and hopefully make it diverse like 25. it's just that 25 will have more loot per boss i guess. they are changing it so small guilds can get good loot and big guilds can split into more raiding groups i guess

my guild is basically a tuesday, wednesday raiding guild and we have a scheduled 25 for thursday's that no one shows up for, so splitting who does show up into a 10 man is a cool idea.
u forgot the thing, when u can pug easyer, liek joing a 10man killing 2 bosses, then joining another (on the thirdboss) and not have that shitty ID so u can get ppl from other raids that are on the third boss
Lore, you forgot to mention the most significant change of all: The change to the raid-lock mechanism.
In cataclysm, you can actually pug the first part of an instance to catch up with your guild-run without being locked out from the guild follow-up run.
@SuperShiningSun Don't forget the other side of that where the people who don't want to come to wipe nights can go off with friends who can get them into other, more advanced runs and clear content while your guild brings sub-par people to fill the spots vacated, or doesn't go because people decided that, rather than just not showing up for wipe nights, they can go somewhere else for those.
@arkomofsacrilege If you display such attitude on my raid-team, then you will find yourself benched faster than you can blink.
Coming to the wipe-nights is really what progression is all about, and I doubt very much that this will change that. What it will change, is that people will be able to do the farm content, if they missed the farm-run.
@SuperShiningSun Yep. There's no room for that kind of BS. I don't tolerate it, either. If it's on 10 man, then you get dropped from the team pretty damn quick if you show this to be a habit. If it's on 25 and we have multiple people doing it, then I'm not afraid to just cut 25 man raiding out. In fact, I have done that in the past. We dropped 25 mans and shifted to running three 10 mans. Seems to work better for us in terms of people showing up.
I'll be reviving my 10man guild which due to wotlk 25 just had too much appeal. Pitty because when it was 10man we dominated as a small dedi group and got it cleared fast. Will be good to get back to that in cata.

Well, I believe that the post I was going to reply to is gone. For clarification's sake, I meant players. Not toons. At one point, mine was the largest active guild on the server and would frequently see 40-60 on at a time. Even now we've still generally got in the 10-30 range on most of the time. It's not a "King Tut" attitude. It's a simple matter of saying, "This is what this guild is about." If people don't like it, they go elsewhere. And if people cause excessive drama, you toss them.

umm... i think im going to quit based on the guild bullshit if it really goes how he is making it out to sound... no joke. i got 264,277's w/o a guild bcus most of my server's guilds are a bunch of cunt assholes so i dont want to just re-start on a guild that sucks and rep with a guild, thats just fucking STUPID

i am not even bothered about Cataclysm anymore to be honesty ended my sub to WOW and getting ready for Star Wars The Old Republic omg wow it looks so good and it will be just awesome to be able to play this level of game online with millions of other star wars fans i think this game may surpass WOW and if not it will bring some big competition

@Alari24 nope bro it is out in November around same time as assissians creed or around it like a month later i know of 100 friends on a different game i play that will all be JEDI!!!!!!! so we can dominate the SITH!!!! but yeah i am gonna drop out of the wow world soul for Star wars they say 80% of wow players WILL get the new star wars but who knows if they will stay with star wars or WOW but STAR WARS FTW!!!

@jasonward1987 They dont have a exact date set and everywhere i look their target is Spring of 2011 and be sure that it will be delayed even further. Actually i do see a problem already with SW. Everyone will play the jedi or sith... I know that it is the Old Republic and siths and jedis are VERY common but still...

@Zelphas 10 man will hopefully be the same difficulty as 25m and they will drop the same item lvl loot and hopefully make it diverse like 25. it's just that 25 will have more loot per boss i guess. they are changing it so small guilds can get good loot and big guilds can split into more raiding groups i guess

@ChromaticEagle I just said i dont give a crap about the loot .... where is the fun if i only am aloued to Pick 1 sort of raid ... when my guild raids we clear 10 man hc first day with 3 groups...2and day we start with the 25 man and usaly do it slow with 7 bosses hc first night then clear it Within the next 2 nights...SO now i wont be able to do both ... full runns that fucking sux...

@Zelphas you can split the 25 into 2 seperate 10m groups to finish 25. and now you will prob have more 10m teams. they said they are planning to make 10=25 so just wait til it comes out.

my guild is basically a tuesday, wednesday raiding guild and we have a scheduled 25 for thursday's that no one shows up for, so splitting who does show up into a 10 man is a cool idea.

u forgot the thing, when u can pug easyer, liek joing a 10man killing 2 bosses, then joining another (on the thirdboss) and not have that shitty ID so u can get ppl from other raids that are on the third boss

Lore, you forgot to mention the most significant change of all: The change to the raid-lock mechanism.
In cataclysm, you can actually pug the first part of an instance to catch up with your guild-run without being locked out from the guild follow-up run.

@SuperShiningSun Don't forget the other side of that where the people who don't want to come to wipe nights can go off with friends who can get them into other, more advanced runs and clear content while your guild brings sub-par people to fill the spots vacated, or doesn't go because people decided that, rather than just not showing up for wipe nights, they can go somewhere else for those.

@arkomofsacrilege If you display such attitude on my raid-team, then you will find yourself benched faster than you can blink.
Coming to the wipe-nights is really what progression is all about, and I doubt very much that this will change that. What it will change, is that people will be able to do the farm content, if they missed the farm-run.

@SuperShiningSun Yep. There's no room for that kind of BS. I don't tolerate it, either. If it's on 10 man, then you get dropped from the team pretty damn quick if you show this to be a habit. If it's on 25 and we have multiple people doing it, then I'm not afraid to just cut 25 man raiding out. In fact, I have done that in the past. We dropped 25 mans and shifted to running three 10 mans. Seems to work better for us in terms of people showing up.

I'll be reviving my 10man guild which due to wotlk 25 just had too much appeal. Pitty because when it was 10man we dominated as a small dedi group and got it cleared fast. Will be good to get back to that in cata.
