Hi! Where in CA are you? I was in LA last week; SFV and Anaheim and in both place I was getting an Outdoor BG of only 12 CPM at both places. I have two counters, Inspector EXP and Mazur PRM-8000. So, an Indoor BG of 46 CPM seems kind of high. What's you BG outside your home? I would be concerned about something else inside your home. Do you have Radon Gas problems on the West Coast? Its a problem here on the East Coast USA. Geiger Counters cannot tell what kind of radioisotopes.
@Aeromarine311 - It's hard to believe those SFV & Anaheim numbers but low is good so thank you. Check out our website for answers to all those questions and look for a new post called, not surprisingly, A Whole HEPA Trouble coming out soon. EnviroReporter [dot] com.
Good Lord that is scary!! Ok, if it is alpha radiation, then a piece of heavy cardboard will offer good protection. Vacuming it up and getting it all out of your home will also help. I hope you took that 'stuff' and put it in a strong mylar bag and disposed of it well.
Question: Have you checked locally grown produce and fruit in your area with that device? If yes, could you please post a vid? I just ate a wonderful CA grown orange. Yeikes!!
@Trapster99 - Thank you for your smart advice. We sure did bag up that debris, labeled it, and have it kept in a special storage unit near Radiation Station Santa Monica. And yes we have tested many fruits and produce in our area, as have many of the raddies who read our site. See the results and get great rad-free food tips at our post "Eat Me" at EnviroReporter [dot] com. Superb comment!
