I imagined Tom with a more juvenile, higher-pitched (but not too high pitched) voice than this. I also imagined Tom with impaired motor skills to a degree, and more "beat up" in appearance.

Not too shabby though. This actor was the evil CO of Em City in 'Oz', so I immediately thought of that show when I saw him.

Please read the book. That book gave me my first experience of true terror while reading. To my mind the best part of the book is the simple fact that there are far too few stories that can grip a heart by its will and dare you to change how you think.

I recommend trying a Half-Price bookstore if there's one near your area. Or in point of fact just about ANY bookseller/reseller should have a copy. Make certain to pick up the extended vertsion @ 1,119 pages (I think) NOT the original 800 page version.

Well depending on where you are just about any second had bookstore should carry the extended version and for less than 6 bucks. I've never read the original version so I can't really compare but I think it'd be like wathching a director's cut film and then the original. :-D
