it's a very long race 300 - 500 miles depending on the series, if you had the wheel away from you like in your car your arms would not be able to hold up. With the wheel close to you your arms are able to rest and you are able to endure the physical demands that it takes

@Siconify its actually very easy, I drive in NASCAR weekly series and my seat is laid back and my wheel is in the same position as hers, with the wheel like that your forearms are at rest more often, your not holding up the weight of your arms.

she can barely handle the draft and close racing in open wheelers, imagine how much she'll struggle in nationwide where theres tons of bumping and banging and the draft is essential to a good finish. only thing her deal is good for is publicity and marketing, which is the only thing she's got going for her.

@racerboy12345 Dude she was good at what she did b4 she met Ray Evernham, in 2003 She was the first woman ever to qualify for the Knoxville Nationals finals, and was named Knoxville Nationals Rookie of the Year that year. In 2004 She was the first female driver to ever win a World of Outlaws sprint car race. The IRL and NSCAR wanted her, The only reason she went with NASCAR is because it was cheaper to get started in. Sucking dick had nothing to do with it.

I'm not talking her down in any way, but I'd bet that in this situation, your adrenaline is pumping so much that once it's happening you do what your instincts/training tell you to keep yourself safe and make sure the car isn't going to catch fire or anything. She might not have even felt the broken rib until everything settled back down.
