  • do you think a retainer wuld b betta?uu kno 4 your dentist 2 clean your teeth? but juss neva keep it aftawrds bkuz it can gett alotta bacteria or what?...

  • a girl at my school only had hers done for a year and a teacher told her to take it out for a whole period (50 minutes) and by the time the lesson finished it didnt close up at all. i guess all tongues are different.

  • Thanks for posting all of these videos :). They are really helpful. Im getting a tongue ring and a christina in less than two hours.

  • Omg he is so cute

  • Uhm, I have braces and I wounder if you know... Can the piercing you know, get stuck in the braces and destory it?

I understand if the dentist wants me to take it out, but I'm going to take it, the piercing, and I have braces and I really REALLY want to know because I don't want to mess up my teeth.

  • i wish i would of known that the tongue closed quickly i had it pierced and took it out to give birth and it closed in 8 mins

  • You Shouldn't Have To Take It Out Just Because They Have Comments

  • @duboccristina well like i said to others, i dont like to piss people off that are working on my mouth

  • i hav to go to the orthodontics would she mind if i had it done or if i took it out would she notice ???

  • @TheMrsJoeJonas19 it would be better if you took it out, im assuming you have braces? it would get in the way of them tightening the braces

  • if you took it out at the dentist and didnt put it back in till u left, would it have closed? and would they be able to notice that u had a tongue ring?

  • Love it I was wondering about that! Yew help me with that question! Yew do a great job! (:

  • I was thinking about this just the other day. Thanks for posting this.

  • if only i saw this video be4 i got my tongue ring

  • I'm lucky because my dentist is a family friend and she has no problem with my jewelry. She is very accepting and she has never seen any negative effects of my tongue ring on my teeth. There are definitely dentists who understand, and you should not have to deal with a dentist that is unkind to you because you have a piercing. Having good teeth and hygiene is all that will matter to a good dentist :)

  • Can't you just keep it in your mouth? lol

  • @popstargurl241 depends on if your dentist will let you. Some insist you take it out, like when I was in the hospital.

  • @juicyglitter013 never left! Just been busy

  • Its not the same for everybody and when I had mines i left my ring in when i went to the dentist and they had no problems

  • From what I've heard, dentists LOVE tongue piercings because of all the extra revenue that will ultimately be generated for the dentist when they have to fix all the chips and cracks in your teeth.

  • When I go to the dentist I take the tongue piercing out, I don't know whether he likes tongue piercings or not, but I assume the tongue ring will be in his way when he's fixing my teeth so I don't keep it in. I've forgotten to put the tongue ring in for a whole day, but luckily I didn't have to get it pierced again, it was barely closed. I've had it for 3 years now. . Still love it loads!

  • And actually my cousin had her tongue pierced for.....7 years...I think...and she took it out for like 8 years and she can still put it back in lol weird huh?

  • Your babys adoreable! Lol love the terrified face haha screw the dentist they don't know what they're talking about :/ and I love you! I've watched you from the begining girl! :)

  • Actually taking your piercing in out that much can really hurt it and irritate it increasing chance of infection

  • hmmm, well i take mine out for school so its out 6 hours everyday :/

  • Soo, I have this bump that's formed in front of my tongue ring. It kinda hurts... Suggestions?

  • @IFireandIce I had something like that, but mine didn't hurt, it was just hard. The piercer I went to see about it (Wasn't the origional piercer who piercied me) told me that the person who piercied me was close to a vien and that's why it formed. He told me to take an asprin, advil, tyolenol, whatever, and crush it up, then put it over the bump, grab a glass and hold your tongue out and drool into the glass for 10 minutes. After 4 days my bump went away.

  • @BiteDown13 Thank you! That was really helpful(: I have noticed that when I take it out to brush my teeth and use mouthwash, it has been helping it decrease. So, maybe I just wasn't keeping it clean enough? Hmm.

  • @IFireandIce No problem! I hope it helps!!

  • QUESTION: I am getting my wisdom teeth taken out, if I need to be put out for the 2 hours of surgery will they let me use a plastic or clear tongue ring because they dont like the metal. I'm concerned I'm going to have to take it out and get it re-pierced because of this surgery. HELP!

  • Hi i was wondering i got my tongue peirced about 3 weeks ago and got my bar swaped for a smaller one last week but it seems the dent in my tongue is getting bigger as the nights go on,and it seems to happen at night! should i swap for a longer one till that heals up then swap back or will it just heal as time goes on

  • @xxxirishflamexxx Well the dent shouldn't be keeping it from healing properly. Is it just too short where it has no room to move?

  • my dentist is very very nice hes gentle and i dont think he would make me take it out

  • I had been wondering about that...I guess it's the same thing if you have any facial piercings (like my madonna and snakebite). I may just have to switch out to all acrylic. The baby bouncing around in the background was just too adorable, btw ^___^

  • @ladonnalombardi77 I have snakebites and I had to have a root canal. They took X-rays and everything with them in. I think he was annoyed by his tone whenever he would mention them though lol.

  • @sabbzzy Lol, yeah. Thanks for that tip :)

  • Do you think the dentist would make me take out my tongue web and smily piercing for a basic cleaning? And would those also close quickly as well? It would be difficult to remove the jewelry and put in back in over and over again for a tongue web piercing.

  • @MusicKeepsMeLiving depending on how long you've had them, they shouldnt close us too quickly. i did my tongue web back in february and the first few days i took it out to eat cause i had a larger barbell, and i could easily put it back in afterwards. i can take it out now and leave it out for a few days and it still wont close up. they shouldnt make you take it out for a simple cleaning tho. but then again it depends on the denist.

  • @MusicKeepsMeLiving Right it would...um..prolly cause its right against the gums where they would need to brush and pick at the teeth. I dont THINK..it would heal up...but not sure

  • Oh my god!!! Your baby is so cute!

I'm so glad you posted a video today about tongue piercings and the dentist. I just got mine today and I watched all your videos about tongue piercings before I got it :) I'm also planning to get my navel done and i have also watched all of those videos from you. You are so knowledgable about this topic and I'm very thankful that you make these videos! Btw I'm a new subbie!!! :)

  • Just saying, after having my tongue piercing out for more than 4+ months, its still open, and has not closed, this also has happened to other people i know. So, if your tongue piercing closes in less than 15 minutes, its not healed completely.

  • @HikilakasPortals huh..ive had mine for over a year and it tends to try to close up pretty quickly.

  • @residentevilbeast I'm getting braces pretty soon, so, would my tongue ring get caught on my braces?

  • @HikilakasPortals Any piercing can heal at any time for different people. She said *could*. Those great little key words in there. Just saying.

  • @petalk95 Lol thanks! I feel like mine could close within 15 mins.

  • @residentevilbeast My fully healed monroe closed in less than 15 minutes. I had it for over 8 months. It sucked.

  • would it get in the way if you leave it in? during a cleaning, i mean :D

  • @pnkrk1039 yes cause of all the pick tools and the vaccum thingy

  • ps... does your dentist force you to take the tongue ring out? mine lets me keep mine in, no questions ask! they even let me wear a retainer when i got x-rays... they know my teeth are healthy enough that the tongue piercing isn't an issue :)

  • @KinKiNiKKi4 they dont force me, but I dont like to piss people off who are working with sharp objects in my mouth

  • you look so skinny and beautiful!!!

  • @KinKiNiKKi4 oh thanks so much!

  • @MizzPandaful urban decay in zero!

  • will u talk aobut cartildage piercing and how to buy clear earrings to hide it at work and the same with nose piercings too. please and thank u.

  • @pinkpuppie58 like how to hide a cartilage piercing and nose piercing?

  • Aww :D very cute baby!

  • uhh yes you made a video!! lol
