Noritalinda37 NOBODY ALLOWED US NOTHING. Our Garifuna ancestors fought fiercely against the British, so we could keep our culture and to not be enslaved. Something of which I pride myself very much. But in the end our ancestors payed a heavy price, their homeland, St. Vincent (Yurumein).........

Let's just say that this culture has come a long way, hundreds of years ago from Africa on Spanish Slave Ships that we were 'allowed to keep' Thank God! Not all decendants of African slaves were this fortunate.

exactly.."amplified-modern punta" as you call it BobbyDay is just modified in a way that it was possible for others to find out what the real Garifuna punta is. This video is the real thing, the real punta. No bass, no guitar, no drumkit..just natural instruments.
