Thanks for this video. I am straight but was bullied constantly for every year in school, and I wish I'd had encouragement like this at the time that it gets better. It's still a comfort to me this far after those years to know that other people went through similar situations.
Thank you so much for the amazing support and comments everyone. We urge you to continue sharing your stories. Lets stick together and keep spreading the word!
Thank you so much for doing this. I'm a long time fan of OSF and a fully realized male-to-female transsexual. Although it certainly doesn't necessarily get easy, and progress is painfully slow, it most certainly does get better.
When the deaf gentleman started explaining the shit he went through I just felt like punching something. Seriously what kind of idiotic piece of scum punches an earing impaired kid's ears untill he bleeds.
this has to go down as your best production of the year in a season already packed with major achievements .. you guys totally get it and thanks for pulling this together.
How do we share these powerful positive feelings with the youth that are mired in teasing and bullying? I hope that they see this. Thanks OSF for sharing.
@ForTheRepublic while your right, there will always be jerks in the world, the difference is that after middle-high school you understand yourself better, and more acsepting of yourself. also, after highschool you dont have to be around those assholes all day, if your harrassed at the workplace you can get their asses fired, or you can quit. so no, your not being a realist, your being over dramatic, probibly for attention
Thank you for this on so many levels. I know things get better. Bringing this out to people in such an empathic offers people opportunities to connect with themselves and others to reduce anxiety in the world and come to each other with a soft heart.
@ForTheRepubl1c they died because no one understood them and they felt there was no escape, they wernt the ones with the problem, it was the people who bullied them, being gay is not a choice, why come on here and say stuff like that? why even search this video if your not going to say somthing positive..... you are a narrow minded fool
@TheCutterschoice Actually I'm a realist. bullying will never stop, no matter what you do. It's a fact of life. People who think they can change that, are living in a bubble while the rest of us live in reality. Telling these people "it gets better" is a generalization and is completely false. It will not get better, thats reality.
@ForTheRepubl1c It DOES get better. My life after high school is 1000 times better than dealing with the pigheaded closeminded bigots I had to put up with.
@ForTheRepubl1c The whole point of the campaign is to tell those STILL ALIVE that life gets better, so that no more LGBT youth die. It's not like we've got a time machine to stop those horrible suicides.
What will happen to you when you die? Have you ever told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain, or looked at someone with lust? If yes, then you are a lying, theiving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. When you die & stand before God you'll be guilty of breaking His law. The bible says you'll end up in Hell! But God sent God his Son Jesus to die for your sins, & He rose from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus died for your sins & was resurrected) you'll be saved!
It does get better, it gets a lot better. I was bullied a lot in elementary school to the point where I nearly jumped out of my 2nd story window onto the pavement. Several times. But then I entered middle school, met my best friend(now loving girlfriend) and I just got better. I've made lots of friends since then. Go to the friends you love and trust, and know that you have their support, that is what really, truly helps.
Thank you OSF! Such a heartwarming video :D

"Why would I worry about the people who hate me when I can spend more time worrying about the people who love me"
Probably the best advice I've heard all day.

Too bad YouTube doesn't have a "love" option as opposed to just "like" or "dislike". Way to go OSF! Now I have one more reason to love you.
