I like the idea that Yo Yo Ma, who is Chinese by ethnicity, plays in the classical European tradition with such smooth and authentic interpretation.

I shows up this spurious notion that only if you are of the ethnicity from where a certain tradition emerged are you able to correctly perform the art. Like the nonsense that only Spanish people can play flamenco or only black Americans can rap. Or only white Europeans can sing opera.

Yo Yo Ma demolishes the stereotype so utterly....I like that.
