....a few weeks ago I told my wife I would stop hitting her, quit drinking, and become the perfect husband. Her eyes welled up with tears and it was a really memorable moment. Another memorable moment was when I dropped her too her knees with a well placed right hook. lol April fools, I get her every year
thats just so fucking sexist . its giving girls the wrong idea about some of us, making them think we are all angry bastards that hart them.
if only i could "have a word" with the people that made this advert and the other advert with the couple at the party, they would so get that advert off air
I'm a girl in a very, very, very happy relationship and my boyfriend treats me right.
In fact he's had girls who treat him like shit, and my male friends/acquaintances (who ARE nice to their girlfriends too) have or have had girlfriends who control them, literally.
This isn't being sexist their basically trying to show others that it dose happen, a fair amount of guys abuse their girlfriends and to be honest they shouldn't have to go through it but yet again girls can do the exact same things to guys and they don't need to go through that either.
No one deserves to go through something like this.
yep we are the monsters we are the ones with PMS throwing furniture around and playing head games :P but on a serious note boys do attack there girlfriends but is what attracted them in the place else why be with them heh if i hit my partner she would leave me is why i have never as for her hitting me i entered the relationship knowing she had abit of a temper so isnt a suprise and can deal with it
The survey by the NSPCC showed that 25% of teenage girls were victims of abuse but these adverts completely disregard the fact that the same survey showed 18% of boys were the victims of violence also.
To show just male on female violence just reinforces the untrue myth that all domestic violence is against women and girls and dissuades boys from seeking help as victims.
Where this advert is being discussed its not teen violence but the sexism that is the topic.
That Ad shares a lot similar in regards a certain popular book series. Could there be a possible connection for the need of such an Ad and the book's popularity?
@Lapinporokoira You raise a good point there. That book series makes an abusive relationship seem "romantic" meaning not only do the abusers need to learn how to behave in a relationship the ones being abused needs to see that what they allow to happen to them isn't acceptable.
