I just read some of the chapters immediately following the latest episode of the anime (119), and I must say that I was left with an intense feeling of sorrow that lingered around me for more than a day (just from yesterday) after seeing what had transpired after the S-class exams. I must say that this is one of the only few mangas to have actually aroused such strong emotions. Can't mention what it is though, because of spoilers.

@creamie123 And to be honest, this manga actually holds a much, much, much greater potential than Bleach or Naruto (which are both seriously over-rated in my opinion). Given a bit more time, it could approach the level of FMAB (which I regard it to be the best so far). It contains one of the most well-balanced character development, planning and plot twists ever. I can't say much about One Piece because I have never read it.

After reading and watching several manga and anime, I must conclude that Fairy Tail has:

1) One of the most even and balanced character development (Few characters are left behind)

2) One of the most well-planned (it seems as though it was planned out right from the start like FMAB).

3) Has one of the best plot twists (Lisanna, Mystogan, Happy & Carle)

4) Richly creative and diverse cast and background

5) A high degree of intellectual depth in terms of its philosophical development

Finally for plot twists, both mangas had their share of it. In fact, both of them are well developed, and I am sure you already know which ones I am referring to, assuming that you have read both.

Fairy Tail is one of the best Anime/Manga I have ever seen. The transition from manga to Anime is flawless and the story is superb. Every episode is filled with emotion be it comedy, drama, or action. SUPERB! And what's more the music is done by one of my favorite japanese composers, Yasuharu Takanashi, who also does Shippuuden series. Awesome!
