Ducatis are like Ferraris- fast and sound great! It's a beautiful and capable machine. The 1098R basically dominated World Superbike last year with the retiring Troy Bayliss. Both this and the Desmosedici RR are awesome motorcyles, let alone awesome Ducatis.

ah...I can see that you know not much about superbike. Ducati has an advantage over any Japanese in-line v4 bikes (ie CBR, R1, GSX etc) because it has Vtwin engine. Vtwin allows Ducati to smooth out the edges on turns, providing constant power at low RPM regions, thus, making bike much much faster. But, if you just want to hit the street, any Japanese bike cannot be wrong. I personally perfer Kawasaki due to its weight and turn capabilities...Kudos for Ducati.

Dont get angry now but, Yamaha is not telling the truth about their bikes power, They say the R1 got 189 hp, it has 162 rwhp on the dyno and 27 hp from crank to "rw" is just too much the 1098r looses about 10-15 hp from crank to "rw" so the actual poweroutput of the R1 should be 175 hp.
