@themightygooners4321 Most of the decisions (for tests) were HORRIBLE! Watch the tests, India were not out and England reviewed every thing. It was one ONE of the reasons England won the Test series. I personally hate the D/L Meathod

@AAKhosla17 India got some bad decisions but most regularly poor lbw decisions. But because it was them who didn't want the DRS to cover lbw, it's there fault. Sods law get over it. And England won the test match because they were by far and away the better team. Albeit India's bowling wasn't to standard, India were utterly outplayed. Only Dravid was up for batting and none of the bowlers were any threat at all.

@themightygooners4321 I agree that England played well, but so did India, there bowling was messed up because Zaheer Khan wasn't there and Harbhajan didn't take wickets. And for the batting, I felt that Virat Kohli could've come in place of Suresh Raina, and if everybody wasn't INJURED! I blame IPL for this.. If there were not many injuries, it would've been an amazing series and the best team would've lifted the tropy....

@AAKhosla17 Kohli is good but it would have been very tough on him coming into a huge test series for one so inexperienced in the 5 day game. Khan was a huge blow I must admit but India have no strength in depth whatsoever. We lost Chris Tremlett for the series but Bresnan filled the void perfectly. And Trott was also out but Bopara came in and Belly went in at 3. India just don't have that depth, especially in the bowling which is distinctly average bar Zaheer and Singh on his day

dude, if zaheer didn't get injured.. india's bowler would of been better! and no! Paveen Kumar did well! ishant shamr would of done well if he didn't have to come in when all the batsman were settled in! so u can't say that india's bowlers weren't any threat! India lost to pure planning and injuries! 9 injuries in just the test series? wwo come on but england woyld have losy 4-0 if they had that!

@Hashuism Of course India would have been better with Zaheer. Kumar was the only threatening bowler. Sharma had his chances and bowled ok in spells but I was at Trent Bridge for one of the tests and he was just awful. Sreesanth was even worse. And Harbhajan never looked like getting a wicket. India lost because England were the better side with bat and ball, which I fully expect to enhance in the away test series soon

you do relize that it took england 14 years to beat india! and that this was india's only series loss in like 5 years! if you lok at the numbers and stats, india is a better team! england has improved but india suold of won this series! with the greatest batting line up in history, it was disgusting to c india bat like that, even if there were injuries! and there is no way india wil even loss a home series! even australia, when they were number 1, couldn't win in india!

@Hashuism India have been so reliant on so few that when Sachin and the likes go, it'll be a struggle. Just like with Australia at the moment. So India didn't lose to us for 14 years, this team is possibly one of the best England teams for many years. And England haven't lost a home series in the past 3 years, basically since this team have been playing regularly. And we drew in India in 2006 with basically no team, a load of youngsters and a full strength India team. England rightfully No1

i don't agree! first of all, 2006-7 was the worst year in indian cricket of the 21st century, it was a time of panic! and england lost to india in 2008 with a team almost the same players! and talking about sachin and dravid retiring, this is not a problem! india has over 6 batsmans that have a first-class average of over 60 and about 18 batsman with an average of over 50! Ajinkya Rahane Has a first class average of almost 70 and so does Mandeep Singh! we have talent...

@Hashuism big difference in scoring a ton of runs on flat and lifeless pitches than getting runs against an England attack. Tremlett and Jimmy were by far the finished article in07. Bell, Cook, Strauss now much better players. England are by far better now and better drilled. They only lost 1-0 and should have won at Lord's. India are probably at the same level now, maybe worse. It's a tough series but I'm confident this England team will beat any test side comfortably bar South Africa

its very navie to say that! remember these same flat ptich was where the ODIs were played and England barly made 200 or more! and usually indian batsman have good averages in England! India has made 600s there! and more importantly made high total in harder batting conditions like south africa! no under to way can u call indian pitches "lifeless', look at pointings average in india! India is a land of spinners! it's hard to bat and runs come a lot slower!

@Hashuism We're awful in ODI's though, well certainly not as good than we are in tests. And the WC match v Eng and Inda certainly wasn't low scoring. In 02 and 07 when India played over here, our bowling attacks were not good at all, which is not the story now. Swanny had a blinder in India last time on his debut and is up for a massive series. India will definitely have to bowl so much better if they're to beat Eng. It was embarassing even for me to watch. And bar Dravid, the batting was too.

the wc match was in banglore....if you nothing about banglore it's that if your a bowler, ur average is gana hurt! behinde Fora(south Dehli) and banglre, all the other pitchs are hard to make runs against! amidehbad's pitch averages 214! you know about the test sciries india kciked out a lot of bowlers and got replacements how are a lot better, check out Umesh Yadav, his pace is in the high 140s and averages 21, on non seamer friendly pitchs! and R ashwin!

another thing, i am not trying to rude or anything, but england have nothing speacial in thier bowling or batting! you got the ranking only because other teams were down! and ODIs prove that! cause to Win an ODi game, you need an X factor, for india it's their batting and for south africa and australia it's their bowling! even many cricketers said that -it's not that england are great, it's that they are grealy organized--!

and yes england deserve the number 1 ranking but it's only a matter of time before india takes it back! if england didn't lose a home secires for 3 years, india hasn't lost one for the last 8, i think! Also India's first-class teams have better bowler than the current team!a few bowler like Umesh Yadav and Ashwin have made their way into the new team! and a lot more to came! for example Rohit Sharma will get his test debut, backed up by his 63.51 first class average!
