I've wanted to catch a pike since I was a child. What we have now around where I live is muskie that have been stocked. So, I've just started to troll for them. Hope to catch one this year. I thought they were supposed to be big fighters, though. It looks like he just kind of laid there.
Holy shit dude u reeled in 3 other rods, controlled the boat and did a sweet net job all by yourself! Fantastic! Lol good job buddy! Oh yeah and nice fish too!!
@lovesskiingpow 80 pound line? There ain't no great whites in there, all you need is 30 pound at most, I haven't used line above 20 in my life, and I haven't lost a pike or muske in my life
@Foxbrosracing33 You dont muskie fish often eh? 80 pound test super braids have the same diameter as a 25 pound test mono. I find thinner line makes crankbaits baits run to deep and you gotta keep in mind your line is going to be bouncing off rocks and other debris. Say, What happens when you hook up with a 30 lb plus fish, which isn't out of the ordinary here on L.o.t.w. Your days are numberd buddy, you will lose a fish and a lure
@lovesskiingpow When I loose a Muskie, I'll tell you, but I fish St. Clair all the time, and I've caught plenty of 25-30 pound fish (or maybe just 2 or 3 haha) I just use less line if I have to get the lure shallow, I usually only fish in 10 foot of water and that 20 pound Viscious fishin' line has been nice for alot of fish
last fall I had to solo fish, caught a nice 45 right at dark. you learn alot of what to do and what not to do fishing by yourself. Mainly keeping your deck free of baits and good lighting for hook removal. Great Video.
Hey nice catch but man does that boat loook like a disaster to fish in.

I have a Abu Garcia 6500 c3 2-speed.
6.1:1
3.8:1 autoshifting. It only takes 20LBS test mono.
